No. Though, I probably should have added "a bit" to the end of my first sentence. He's still succeeding, just not at the DeGrom-esque level he was before. Spencer Strider ERA from debut to 2.75, 1.92 FIP, 0.54 HR/9. Spencer Strider ERA from May 17 to present: 4.31/3.28 FIP/1.29 HR/9.

I feel like the league may have figured out Strider. Tough to succeed when you rely on two pitches as heavily as he does.

Sounds like we're getting closer to the end here, with the caveat being that this is politics and things can change quickly. On a somewhat related note, wonder if MLB doesn't reward the team by announcing an ASG to MKE within the next 7-8 years....Seattle just had one and they hosted the year before us in 2001.

What the Dodgers need is Corbin Burnes. They will get Buehler back next season, but they need an ace. Kershaw might be done this time.

True. I'm just saying pitching and defense will keep you in games and is generally more reliable than slugging which is prone to power outages. Case in point, the Braves.

On the other hand, the Braves have the most stacked lineup of them all and are struggling with the Phillies because their pitching has gone in the tubes....

Some potential deals. If we want pitching, we should probably look the Dodgers' way. If we want a power infusion, we should definitely talk to the O's. Padres offer the best combination of both imo.

I was at the first game. It was loud at points and you're right that Burnes surrendering gopher balls and a three run lead didn't help matters, but I just didn't get the sense of anticipation and excitement that I have from previous playoff games, like in 2018 or even 2021.

Why not have a dedicated thread for all of the rumors and proposals that are going to inevitably ensue over the next several months? Despite Arnold's comments yesterday, I feel pretty confident a trade is forthcoming. I was on the fence about it at the end of the season, but Burnes' choke job in the playoffs and the presence of pitching desperate and prospect rich teams such as the Orioles and Dodgers has put me firmly on the trade side. The several teams that I think could be interested: LAD, BAL, TEX, SF, SD, PHI, NYY, BOS.

If the Brewers had beaten the Dbacks and were tied 1-1 (or better) vs. the Dodgers, I have a feeling Am Fam would be similar. Brewers fans have gotten a little complacent.

No it’s literally not. It’s still a negative value deal per BTV. You also don’t have to look any further than the Rockies eating Arenado’s salary a few years back. “Find the right deal” lol. Right after we find the pot of gold at the other end of the rainbow.

Mayo -Free Agent: Sign Wade Miley for 1 year 8 million, C: Contreras, Henry 1B: Canha/Black 2B: Turang, Monasterio SS: Adames 3B: Mayo/Black LF: Frelick CF: Chourio (PPI) RF: Mitchell/Taylor/Wiemer DH: Yelich SP: Woodruff, Peralta, Miley, Sheehan, Houser, Ashby, Gasser RP: Payamps, Uribe, Megill, Milner, Peguero, Wilson Cash in on Burnes and Williams to lay the foundation for a prolonged World Series window. Chourio, Mayo and Black to a lesser extent will provide the extra pop that was missing this year. Sheehan gives your potential top of the rotation arm to replace Burnes and eventually Woodruff. Still a team that would be a co-favorite in the NL Central.

Brewers' greatest accomplishment this season was by far going to Texas after getting swept in LA and putting a whopping on this Rangers team.
