  1. I don't have any advice to add, but I would enjoy it if we could make this the "Official Weevil Thread."
  2. LaMerenda is especially good with a group of people.
  3. It's official - Brewerfan.net's acting WOAH SOLVDD.
  4. I have a giant bruise (the cool yellow and purple kind) on my upper arm, with NO IDEA how it got there.
  5. Keep an eye on the events that the Lake Shore Chinooks put on this year. Yount is a part owner of that team and he's already attended at least a couple press conferences & events. I think they're doing a Yount bobblehead as well. You're probably much more likely to get him in person at a Northwoods League event vs. an MLB event.
  6. Rusty Kuntz
  7. I feel like Pasta Tree is overrated, as it's gone downhill a little since you were there last. I like Crazy Water, Centro Cafe, Braise. All kind of out-of-the-way places and (from memory, so double check) you could probably get out of each for less than $100, especially if you don't order a bottle of wine. I think you can find all the menus online. My suggestion would be one of these and then Lake Park Bistro for a nightcap and dessert.
  8. Congrats to Brett Lawrie on earning his first suspension tonight.
  9. That's the problem - he's never healthy. You'd be paying for 162 games, but only getting 117 (his career average). Great player? Yes. Guy you want to pay $25MM a year for? No.
  10. I can't remember the last time a musician died and I really felt sad (sorry Whitney). I still remember the first time I heard Ill Communication. This sucks.
  11. Was just starting to think about what to have for lunch today. Done and done.
  12. Looks like you won!
  13. I agree. I think he'll strike out a ton, but I think he'll hit for enough power and contribute on defense to lend value to the Nats.
  14. Parra isn't going anywhere because the Brewers would have to give up on him to send him down. He's out of options, and someone would give him a shot on the waiver wire (what does a team like Houston or Seattle have to lose?). The only way Parra loses his spot in the bullpen is if he mysteriously develops "back spasms" and needs a DL trip and rehab assignment.
  15. I'm feeling old, because I remember Billyhallfan the high school student on these boards. I wear a suit everyday and can tell you that you get what you pay for. That's not to say you can't find a nice suit for $300, just don't expect it to last forever. There might be a Brooks Brothers outlet at Johnson Creek. They have nice stuff, I've never priced their suits at the outlet however. Boston Store & Macy's sometimes have good sales as well. Jos. A. Bank is in most of the malls and always has sales, but I don't particularly like their suits. Keep in mind that you'll need some tailoring. You want the suit to fit perfectly. If you need the jacket and pants tailored, you're looking at $50 easily. If you wind up in a job where you wear a suit often, invest in some good ones. Make sure you have nice shoes. And shine them. /wardrobe rant
  16. Story about Jeremy Guthrie going to Twitter for a catch partner, turns into a pretty cool story: http://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/id/7849214/rockies-pitcher-twitter-friendship
  17. Someone needs to find him one of the old Jim Powell Cranberry Growers promos ("They make it eeeeeeasy to be good.").
  18. I believe there is a limit to how long you can be on the paternity leave list. I don't think they had a choice.
  19. I was at the Bucks game that night. They actually stopped the game to announce news of the no-hitter.
  20. I'm thinking about going to Appleton for one of the games this weekend. It looks like gates open 1 1/2 hours before the game. Is there generally still BP going on at this point?
  21. I don't know if this has been covered in an IGT or somewhere else, but I noticed a change to the match game on Opening Day. Last year, this was sponsored by Frontier and if you won I believe you got some type of Frontier prize (tickets, fly bucks, etc.). This year, it is sponsored by Topps, and if you win, you get a pack of Topps baseball cards. That seems like somewhat of a downgrade.
  22. AT&T stunk for me all day, but my girlfriend had no problem right next to me with the exact same phone on Verizon.
