  1. Dinges leads off the bottom of the 3rd with 108 EV line drive double to the wall in LF. He's definitely flashing some raw power in his first two professional games
  2. Definitely possible. Jesus Flores and Jesus Broca have both pitched in both the DSL and Carolina in 2024 so he wouldn't be the first. Plus Torres clearly still has innings to pitch with his season total at only 15 innings.
  3. Jeffrey Leonard haha?
  4. I know some have been pining for Wande Torres info based on his numbers and looks like Brewers PD and @Spencer Michaelis have delivered. BrewersPD seems to confirm Wande Torres was brought stateside post DSL season. 95-97 with that arm angle seems like about as good of a chance of being an MLB RP someday as any pitcher leaving the DSL.
  5. I really hated the double up on the high FB there. Carpenter was all timed up on the first FB just underneath it. Clearly hunting the FB up. Mears didn’t get it outside like Contreras wanted but it was further up than the first pitch. Didn’t help that Mears FB wasn’t as sharp as normal either in terms of velo and movement. Think this is more about a somewhat growing concern of mine not loving Contreras situational pitch calling
  6. You guys have the magic number wrong. It's 25. Cards and Cubs both have 64 losses, so their max win total is 98. Brewers have the tiebreaker over both teams so the Brewers need to get to 98 wins to guarantee the division. Brewers have 73 wins so the magic number is actuallly 25 not 26.
  7. Yeah. This is all I'm seeing. So bizarre. Hopefully that pitcher is okay.
  8. No I'm saying it's not even showing up on MiLB TV as an option to watch not that the feed is blank.
  9. Weird. I don't know why the feed isn't showing up for me.
  10. Are you watching? For some reason it's not showing an available feed for me.
  11. That was Friday. He started the game Friday that was suspended due to rain and when it restarted on Saturday he was replaced by Acosta, so now 3 games and 4 days in a row without playing.
  12. So I wonder if Burke is hurt as he hasn't played for a bit.
  13. No people crucified Boras because it was reported multiple of his clients turned down more guaranteed term and money and got stuck with short term deals with more AAV. Montgomery is rumored to have fired Boras over this. Boras won't get the last laugh when Bellinger ends up making less over the next half decade because he didn't sign a longer-term deal last offseason.
  14. I could not disagree more that Mayo is equal to or lesser than Ortiz and Hall. Mayo at this point is a basically universal top 15 prospect in the sport. Ortiz was a top 80 prospect and DL Hall a fringe top 100 prospect. A top 15 prospect is worth much more than two prospects in the back half/fringe of the Top 100.
  15. For 1 year of a Cy Young SP the Brewers didn't even get a Mayo level prospect...why the heck do you think the Brewers could get Mayo for 1 year of a RP?
  16. I think it was Jack or maybe Curt who mentioned on the pod that the comebacker wasn't what hurt him. It was an oblique issue that had him removed. Just a coincidence that it happened the same play as the comebacker I guess.
  17. Paredes isn't eligible to come off the IL until September 1st, so he still has almost 2 weeks before that could happen. Also Zastryzny left his 8/13 rehab assignment with a trainer and has not pitched again since then, so he might not be healthy enough to pitch again this year.
  18. Expected move and I definitely think the correct move. I like having the 2 long guys in the pen for now. The real question will be after the doubleheader on 9/30. I imagine Hall will be called up to pitch that game and does he stay up or go back down burning his final option year in the process.
  19. And the Brewers need to win 1 of the 6 games to get the tiebreaker so even if the Brewers went 2-4 in those series the Cards would only gain 1 game on us in the standings. They basically would need to go 6-0 against us to have any realistic chance of coming back in the division.
  20. I think it’s pretty easy to envision Civale not being on the playoff roster. I think Montas probably makes it because he has shown he can sustain throwing upper 90’s in small samples, but I don’t really see why Civale would have an argument for making it. You don’t need 5 SP.
  21. Maybe Gardner going on the IL made them reverse course and keep Holub in Biloxi
  22. Ugly outing for Yeager. Only got 1 out. 3 hits, 3 walks, 1 HBP
  23. Yeah you're right. I've never actually seen people talk about so always just added the full game, but adding the half game definitely makes the most sense so you're 0.5 back with the same record and 0.5 ahead when 1 game better.
  24. Yeah I can get on board with that. Love watching the Cardinals lose. This was more about the need the Cardinals to lose because the division race isn't over mentality.
