Unfortunately there’s no video or audio of ACL games so I doubt anyone here would have much info on his defense until he gets to Carolina unless they’ve been to an ACL game this season.
I think they give Ashby until he runs out of options a chance to stick. Although maybe they think they can sneak his contract through waivers then it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to get him off the 40-man. Brewers are basically operating with a 37 man roster right now with Quero and Uribe both out with longterm injuries and Ashby not really being a real option for the MLB team.
Eduarqui double, Garcia single, Barrios triple, Areinamo HR for a team cycle for Wisconsin in the 7th inning. That's 4 straight hitters by the way. Rattlers up 7-1.
Herrera goes to down 3-0 to Kai Murphy then gets a generous strike 1 call. Kai Murphy hit a hard grounder straight to the shifted Gregory Barrios at SS to end the inning. 38 pitch inning for Herrera but only 1 ER. Have to imagine his day could be done.
Herrera's lacking that putaway pitch here in the first inning. TinCaps really driving his pitch count up. Bases loaded, 2 out, and Herrera at 27 pitches.
Boy I think Yophery just hit an oppo-taco but the umps are saying it didn't leave the yard. I thought it bounced off the top of the yellow line then off the railing above the yellow line and back onto the field. We never got a zoomed/good angle so maybe they got it right, but I think Yophery was robbed.
I guess 2023 Nashville Sound Michael Reed is making a go at it as a pitcher. He's pitching the 7th inning for the ACL Rangers and has pitched nearly 20 innings for them this year with pretty solid results.
I mean yeah he’s still clearly been the second best OF behind Yelich this year and pretty much everyone would agree with that. His 200 PA slump is better than Chourio has hit all season and barely worse than Frelick’s season number and Perkins plays significantly better CF defense than Frelick. So yeah still a starting OF.
Fast guy who hits a lot of ground balls has higher BABIP than slow guy who hits a lot of ground balls.
I don’t really know what you’re trying to do here? Perkins even with his offense slumping has still been better than your guy Frelick and Chourio and Perkins slumping has nothing to do with Contreras slumping so don’t know why you brought it up in a game thread of a game Perkins didn’t even play in.
Honestly 79 wRC+ would be a hot streak for Contreras at this point. Contreras wRC+ is flirting with the 50's since May 17th. Perkins in that same time frame has a 100 wRC+.
Padres offense in this series has reminded me of our offense at the start of the season. Remember those days when everything was fun? Now we need to pray our ground balls with runners on base find holes because outside of Adames nobody is consistently driving the ball in the air.
Pat Murphy disaster class tonight. Let Rea see the top of the order a 3rd time which turned our 3 run lead into a 1 run deficit. Used Milner against the same pocket of the order that he gave up a run against last night. Used Peguero with runners on base.
I said in the 4th inning that Rea shouldn't see the 3rd time through with the type of contact he was giving up. I know the pitch count was amazing but that Padres had been all over his stuff all night makes tons of hard contact. Can't believe our manager brought him back out for the 6th after he gave up a HR to Arraez to make it 4-3.
