    Really think pipeline does a good job with the midseason individual top 30 rankings. Feel like both this year and last year it did for the most part a really good job of ranking the system

    Was that a bunt? Looked like a check swing to me so basically just crazy luck that it was perfectly hit. Edit: Went back and looked and it was a half hearted full swing. Basically a sword that he actually made contact on.

    He was good in June too. This has just been a slump since the start of July and it's been basically unplayable bad slump.

    Damn so 2 TJ and a knee surgery in a span of 2 years...that's crazy.

    Has he had 2 TJ's? I know he's had one for sure, but I've only ever seen it mentioned that he had a knee surgery and TJ. I can't recall ever reading he's' had TJ twice. Agree on your other points. Maybe down the line he might become a SP but as an almost 25 year old, it seems overkill to keep him in the minors to build up innings when he clearly can be getting guys out in the MLB.

    Would be wild if the Brewers 2 finished the season with a better record than Brewers 1.

    I don't think that's an in zone rate of 71%. I think that's just an overall strike rate of 71% which includes a lot of chase but it's hard to know because he said landing it as a strike 71% of the time which I agree is easy to interpret as throwing it in the zone 71% of the time.

    The Just Baseball guys on the call up podcast were raving about Yoho and Misiorowski as pen arms down the stretch. Jack in particular who saw them both pitch during the series against Indy this week. He's a part of Indy's radio call. Link the video right where they start talking about Yoho and Misiorowski.

    I'm not arguing against myself. I'm saying he's been misused because he's been bad not because he's being asked to pitch a higher leverage role than last year (what you have argued). That's pretty clear if you'd have been paying attention. You keep citing that he's been good because he's putting up zeros ignoring that he keeps allowing inherited runners to score. Since the ASB he has -0.44 WPA which is by far the worst in the pen with the next lowest being -0.04. In that time has a 111 FIP- and 4.01 xERA so yeah not good. He needs to go to AAA.

    I also think it's worth pointing out that despite Hudson being rejuvenated and off the IL, he looked like the same guy last night that was getting smashed before he went on the IL. Velo was still down. Didn't have feel for his sweeper. Without getting his sweeper back to early season levels, I don't think he's a guarantee to be on the MLB roster during the September run. He just will not be able to punch out hitters without the sweeper.

    Peguero was the 7th inning leverage guy basically half the season in 2023. Saying that's above what he should be is just not true. Negative WPA shows he hasn't been good. Terrible post from you and 1000% wrong.

    I just really dislike this talking point. Like are we really lucky that we are the smallest market in baseball? If Milwaukee was on the East Coast and the metro population was 4.5 million would we really be worse off playing in a tougher division where our payroll is likely $75-100M larger?

    So Murphy cited Kershaw having reverse splits this year for why Turang and Mitchell hit 1 and 3 in the order....Kershaw doesn't even have reverse splits this year lmao

    Doesn't help that the lineup was totally set up to fail. Turang and Mitchell leading off because according to Murphy Kershaw has reverse splits in his 4 games this year....Monasterio should have started at 2B and Mitchell and Frelick should have been 7 and 9 in the order only because we had to play them as Perkins was on the IL and we called up a LHH 1B to replace him for whatever reason.

    In 7 games against the Dodgers and Phillies this year the Brewers have been outscored by 6 total runs. You're acting like the Brewers are getting blown out in these games. These are mostly close games we are losing. We aren't getting our teeth kicked in.

    I think the 89 wRC+ is the real thing. His underlying numbers all speak to him playing to about what he deserves to be right now. It's just come with a huge overperformance and a huge underperformance rather than more steady play.

    Turang must not have been looking too hard considering he chased 2 FB above the zone one of them on a 2-1 count
