  1. Oh boy. Hopefully he looks better than he did last week in Wisconsin. If not Biloxi could be playing from behind early.
  2. Max Lazar strands the bases loaded. Strikes out the first hitter on 3 pitches and gets the next hitter to ground into a double play to end the inning. Bases loaded no outs to inning over with no additional runs on 5 pitches. Round of applause for Max Lazar.
  3. Middendorf gives up a chopper between him and 1B. He boots it and then totally gives up on the ball despite the out still being there at 1B. 4-1 Montgomery with runners on 1st and 2nd and 0 outs. He gives up another roped single to RF to the next hitter. It's 4-1 Montgomery with the bases loaded and 0 outs. Disastrous outing from Middendorf.
  4. Middendorf about to put these one out of reach for Biloxi. He's given up to very hard hit ground ball singles to open the 8th. 1st and 3rd with 0 outs.
  5. It was most definitely not Russell Smith unless Russell Smith now throws with his right hand.
  6. And he decides to throw Shane Smith into this situation in his first AA appearance. Smith gets out of it with a lineout double play from Tristan Peters. 3-1 Montgomery going into the bottom of the 7th
  7. A bit shocked that Guerrero brought Rodriguez back out for the 7th after he gave up some hard contact in the 6th on the 3rd time through. Lead-off BB and infield swing bunt hit and now he's going to the pen. This could be out of hand pretty quickly for Biloxi.
  8. Lamar Sparks gets an awful jump on a bloop down the RF line and then has it fall out of his glove for a double. With even a decent jump that's an out. A wild pitch brings the runner to 3B which draws the IF in then the Montgomery hitter has a bloop over the SS head which likely is caught with the IF at normal depth. Just everything going wrong for Biloxi this inning.
  9. Peters must have been sitting changeup and Rodriguez left it slightly up and hit it well out of the park to RF. 2-0 Montgomery.
  10. Don't think the ump had missed a single call before that one either. Wasn't really that close either.
  11. Carlos Rodriguez is twirling a gem through 4 innings in Biloxi. Brock Wilken had a 111 EV, 406ft foul ball (wasn't close to being fair but just wanted to share cause 111 EV!! lol)
  12. On September 13th, 2018, the Brewers were 8-3 in September and coming off a series win against the Cubs to put them 1.5 games behind the Cubs in the division race. On September 13, 2023, the Cubs are 7-7 in September and coming off a series loss against Colorado to put them 4-5 games back of the Brewers. These situations aren't remotely similar. I don't know why you constantly feel the need to feign fear about the Brewers but you've been doing it literally all season. First with the Cardinals (haven't heard you talk about them much lately) and now with the Cubs despite both of their fanbases not thinking they are as good as you imply.
  13. I've been browsing bleedcubbieblue and northside baseball the last few days and the fan sentiment seems to be that the division isn't really in play and that it's just the WC that is the focus now.
  14. Results have been a mixed bag for the 4 RP they let go from last year. I still think they made the right call on them. Boxberger and Gott have been bad. Topa and Suter have been good but the decisions to move on from them were plenty valid. Topa was too injury prone for us and Suter was getting expensive for a non-leverage pen roll.
  15. The good thing is the quality of contact has improved. A lot of more line drives and a lot fewer ground balls. I still think it's very unlikely he gets called up. If Brewers were going to add a prospect who isn't Rule 5 eligible this offseason to the 40-man it would have happened already imo. I think Brewers would rather have Miller/Perkins on the MLB roster than Black at this point just for the offseason flexibility.
  16. If Donaldson gets hot, I could honestly see Turang losing most of his playing time like Wiemer has. The best potential Brewers lineup at this point is likely. 1. Yelich - LF 2. Contreras - C 3. Santana - 1B 4. Adames - SS 5. Canha - DH 6. Donaldson - 3B 7. Frelick - CF 8. Monasterio - 2B 9. Taylor - RF
  17. Had the correct lineup, but not the correct batting order.
  18. I was thinking Caratini at C and Contreras DH today to avoid putting Turang in the lineup vs a LHP. 2B - Monasterio DH - Contreras 1B - Santana SS - Adames 3B - Donaldson RF - Frelick C - Caratini LF - Taylor CF - Wiemer
  19. Yeah I think they are doing this so Rea can go like 5 innings without facing the top half of the order a 3rd time. Megill gets the first 4-5 hitters. Rea comes in and pitches through the 6th/7th. Then we bring in the fresh A bullpen of Peguero, Payamps, Williams if the score is close.
  20. This is from McCalvy’s most recent newsletter. “Flanagan confirmed that No. 3 Brewers prospect Jacob Misiorowski won’t pitch anymore this season for Double-A Biloxi. He’s been shut down since developing arm fatigue in the wake of a 12-strikeout performance last month, and continues to rehab at the club’s facility in Phoenix, Flanagan said. There just won’t be time to get him back on the field before the Shuckers' season ends. The good news is that the diagnosis -- arm fatigue -- hasn’t been replaced by something more serious. That would position Misiorowski to get some additional work in the fall should the Brewers choose to augment the 71 1/3 innings the big right-hander already threw at three affiliates in 2023.”
  21. McCalvy said he was nearing his innings limit when he got shut down, so I’m not sure they will view him as someone who needs more innings.
  22. I don’t think Chourio will because he’s 19 and has played a ton of baseball this season. He could end up with close to 600 PA depending on Biloxi making a deep playoff run. My guesses would be. EBJ - Missed a lot of time to injury so could use the extra reps Hendry Mendez - Same reasoning as EBJ Eduardo Garcia - Same reasoning as EBJ and Mendez Adam Seminaris - Missed a lot of time to injury and could use extra innings Alexander Cornielle - Finished the year very strong but has almost 30 fewer IP than last season. Gets him more innings and against some heightened opposition. Brian Fitzpatrick - Coming of injury he’s only thrown 30 innings this year and could probably use some more innings
  23. Misiorowski and Blalock are both shut down right now.
  24. It really does feel that way. He’s made so many of these tweets since our big win streak in August
  25. They did. They just used him in the 8th
