  1. Sal Frelick appears to be okay! Deep breaths everyone!
  2. Seems like there's a very real adjustment period going from tacky balls to normal balls. Thompson and Uribe's command both faltered when they first got to AAA. This makes me think we could potentially see a lot of pitching moves once the Southern League goes back to a normal baseball as I doubt they want guys from A+ going to AA just to have a tacky ball for a week.
  3. Darrell Thompson seems to be settling down in AAA. In June he has 7 G, 8 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 13 SO. That's good for a 2.25 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 39% K-rate and 9% BB-rate.
  4. Frelick just fouled a ball of his right knee and was in a ton of pain. Was removed from the game and walked back to the dugout with a heavy limp.
  5. Still can't believe they not only didn't trade Bard but gave him a big extension last trade deadline. Madness from them and it's worked out like absolute crap.
  6. Why is that concerning? There's 1 qualified hitter hitting .300 in the Southern League (and he's 25). There's 3 qualified hitters hitting .300 in the Midwest League (and 1 is 24). There's 1 qualified hitter hitting .300 in the Carolina League (and he's 22).
  7. 2020 - 189 PA, .338 xwOBA 2023 - 200 PA, .340 xwOBA He's hitting about as well as he did in 2020 over a very similar sample size. However in 2020 he had a .292 BABIP so he underperformed his xwOBA and in 2023 he has a .406 BABIP so he's overperforming his xwOBA
  8. Jam shot that caused thumb soreness. Curt Hogg said he is expected to return to play as soon as this week. It’s about all we have gotten.
  9. Sounds down 4-2 in the 6th with Naquin on 2nd and no outs. Jackson hits a rope to right center and tries to stretch a double into a triple but fails and makes the 1st out at 3rd. Kind of speechless at a AAA veteran making that terrible of a baserunning decision. Expect something like that in A ball not AAA.
  10. You take one look at that Norfolk lineup and you understand why they are 45-23...Baltimore is going to be a terrifying team within the next couple of years.
  11. I feel like 6' or 6'1" and 210 lbs is probably more realistic.
  12. So I know this angle isn't great, but Tyler Black is standing next to Ethan Murray who is listed as 5'10, 201 lbs. If Ethan Murray is 5'10, 201 lbs then there's no way Black is 5'10 190lbs.
  13. @ARobsBrewCrew any chance you know how tall Tyler Black actually is haha?
  14. Okay but why would the Biloxi team page being pulling from HS numbers? They have him as 5'10 190
  15. So I am not taking crazy pills. Wright State and all the draft scouting reports had him listed as 6'2 and everywhere now has him listed at 5'10...what's going on?
  16. Yeah I can't get on board with anyone blaming the pitching for today's loss. Our offense put up 1 run. Our offense put up 9 runs in the series and 4 of them came on one of the flukiest innings you'll ever see. We are fortunate to have even won a single game against one of the best teams in baseball putting up 9 runs in 3 games.
  17. Fangraphs, baseball reference, and the Biloxi website all have him listed as 5'10. I could have sworn he was listed as 6'1 last season and I know for a fact he was listed at 5'11 earlier this season because I noted it when I saw it.
  18. This ump man. Might as well just give the game to the Diamondbacks
  19. Brewers are starting to smash Gallen since the start of the 5th inning and everything is finding gloves. So frustrating.
  20. And the game is tied because the ump blew strike 3 on the previous pitch..******* ROBOT UMPS PLEASE
  21. I'll take that run, but that inning was so close to something special. Anderson - 101 EV, 20 LA, 352ft, xBA .380 Tapia - 100 EV, 25 LA, 401ft, xBA .560 Urias - 78 EV, 17 LA, 178ft, xBA .910 Wiemer - 102 EV, 31 LA, 402ft, xBA .670 Really unfortunate to only get 1 hit and 1 run from that inning.
  22. Yeah. Mixes pitches and locations really well and his pitches all move quite a bit.
  23. Ashcraft has shown nothing yet in his MLB career to be listed with those other names.
  24. Ump's zone has been wildly inconsistent so far. Might be a long day of one pitch being a strike and then next one there being a ball.
