  1. After the 1st half of the season. I believe that date is coming up very soon maybe even some time next week?
  2. I've seen some prospect guys speculate his control issues could be very related to the tacky baseball hurting his changeup command.
  3. Wisconsin are 15-9 in their last 24 games after being swept 2 times in 3 series to start May. Finally starting to play better team baseball. Think they will compete for the top of the division in the 2nd half.
  4. Not to mention Adames, Urias, and Winker all had good games at the plate. We desperately need those 3 to start hitting better and hopefully today was the day that starts happening.
  5. Some behind home plate Misiorowski content courtesy of Curt Hogg.
  6. Figured I would start a thread on this. It's a fun little daily baseball trivia game that I have enjoyed playing the last few weeks. https://www.immaculategrid.com/
  7. This is an optimism thread we are also 6-1 against the Reds and Pirates this year .
  8. It's pretty well documented that Adames couldn't see the ball at the Trop after they changed the lights and the numbers totally back up that theory. 2019 - 56 wRC+ at home and 122 wRC+ on the road 2020 - 64 wRC+ at home and 173 wRC+ on the road 2021 before being traded - 61 wRC+ at home and 86 wRC+ on the road. Rays were also very big fans of Rasmussen considering they drafted him out of high school but he didn't sign.
  9. It does seem like our hitters are genuinely just thinking too much and not actually hitting. Guys like Rowdy, Adames, Anderson are all putting up the worst EV numbers of their careers and they just seem so unsure/frustrated while at the plate. Watching the D-Backs be so aggressive on 1st pitches tonight was a thing of beauty meanwhile our hitters are taking so many hittable pitches early in counts then expanding the zone after they get down.
  10. This game probably puts the 2023 Brewers back level with the 2002 and 1997 Brewers as the 4th worst offense in franchise history by wRC+
  11. He's exceeded 5 years service time this season already so he can't be optioned.
  12. That's 1 average SP not 3 like you said. I've also seen nobody say Freddy is an above average pitcher this season. Two above average RP by ERA+ doesn't make an above average bullpen. Good relievers typically carry ERA+ far above 100. For comparison's sake here is the Brewers bullpen by ERA+ DW - 227 Payamps - 172 Wilson - 152 Milner - 144 Peguero - 156 Megill - 129 Strzelecki - 88 Here is Cincinnati's bullpen which is average by WPA. Diaz - 257 Farmer - 204 Gibaut - 140 Young - 169 Sims - 171 That Cardinals bullpen is just flat out bad.
  13. 5-0 Nationals in the 2nd inning against the league average SP. Also the scary Nolan Gorman that was included up with Goldschmidt and Arenado has a 48% K-rate in June and has seen his wRC+ drop from 148 at the end of May to currently 118 after his first AB today.
  14. One of the Cardinals "league average SP" has already given up 3 runs in the 1st inning against the incredible Washington Nationals offense!
  15. So sad that Yelich is finally starting to look like a really good player again and the first reaction from so many fans is to try and trade him rather than just enjoy him looking like a really good baseball player again.
  16. Their run differential is 1 run better than the Brewers lol. They also have a terrible bullpen so them underperforming their run differential is not at all surprising.
  17. It's a super small sample size and we face Gallen that day.
  18. Where are you getting above average bullpen and 3 average starting pitchers from? Cards bullpen has been one of the worst in the MLB this year and Helsley is on the IL with forearm tightness. Mikolas and Flaherty are not average SP. Their ERA- are both below league average and their xERA and peripheral batted numbers are well below league average. Montgomery is their only SP who is average or better
  19. Players I think are could be ready for promotions. A - Lara, Adams, Wehrle, Smith A+ - Lazar AA - Black, Campbell A+ is a bit of a log jam with not a lot of players deserving of promotions. I think they could push Gray again if Lara gets promoted to A+. Woessner I think could handle a promotion but I feel like he needs to maintain his velo deeper into starts before he’s truly ready for a promotion.
  20. Really, Really important to win this game with Rea and Teheran going in the next 2. A loss today feels like a near guaranteed series loss.
  21. If only Brewers fans on this site believed in the Brewers as much as they do the Cardinals.
  22. As of today: Brent Suter - 2.88 ERA, 3.39 FIP, 4.47 xFIP Chase Anderson - 4.12 ERA, 5.68 FIP, 4.85 xFIP Vs their Brewers counterparts that you wanted to replace Bryse Wilson - 2.83 ERA, 3.90 FIP, 4.64 xFIP Colin Rea - 4.71 ERA, 4.80 FIP, 4.34 xFIP Julio Teheran - 1.78 ERA, 3.73 FIP, 4.43 xFIP Thank goodness we didn't trade prospects away for Suter and Anderson and just continued to ride with what we had considering they have performed pretty much on par with Suter and Anderson.
  23. Bases loaded, 1-out and Julks hit into a double play.
