  1. Alright dude. Just keep up with the relentless negativity and the assumption that the Brewers don't care.
  2. You literally said they look disinterested???
  3. Yeah I really bet the Brewers players are disinterested while leading the division in September.
  4. Jackson and Ortiz have both pitched extremely well. Both guys have good stuff but struggle with inconsistency. When they locate well like tonight and last night they can have success.
  5. Jackson has thrown one bad pitch through 3 innings. A 94mph FB right down the middle on a 2-0 count to Turang and Turang weakly fouled it back. He's just looked very good.
  6. Would be nice if this ump would stop giving Jackson 3 inches off the outside edge.
  7. I honestly don't think Jackson has thrown a single bad pitch through 2 innings. Obviously he's had some poorly thrown balls but everything in the zone is pretty close to the edge. Leaving nothing over the heart of the plate right now. Second night in a row a Pirates pitcher is just executing extremely well.
  8. Yeah it's a very small chance. We need to be 4 games better than Peoria this week. So either 5-1 and 6-0 agains the juggernaut Kernels while Peoria also needs to go 1-5 or 0-6 against the really poor Beloit team. The odds are very slim, but as the great Han Solo once said, "Never tell me the odds".
  9. Cubs bullpen has been much better since the beginning of June. Since June 1st we have 3.83 bullpen WPA compared to the Cubs 3.47 WPA. 5th and 6th respectively in the MLB. We have 88 SD (3rd most) and 39 MD (7th fewest). Cubs have 71 SD (23rd most) and 32 MD (Tied for fewest) I just don't think their rotation will hold up the rest of the year. Steele might end up with 60+ IP more than his career high. Hendricks is good. Taillon is not good. Assad and Wicks are rookies way overperforming their peripheral numbers. I think our veteran rotation is quite a bit better than their rotation.
  10. Well that's certainly better than nothing. A little throwback to the old days!
  11. To be fair to Burnes even if he was willing and wanted to do what Freddy and Woodruff do with their FB he couldn’t. He just can’t spin the FB in the optimized way Woodruff and Peralta do. His 4 seamer was always flatter than either of those 2. Burnes using a 4 seamer up in the zone would be far more similar to the way Houser uses his 4 seamer. Not as a putaway pitch necessarily but as a pitch that makes his cutter and other pitches play better and that keeps the hitter focused on all quadrants of the zone not just the lower half.
  12. I literally never defended Burnes lmao. He pitched terrible yesterday. Me saying Burnes doesn’t throw all of his pitches the same speed like you said he does isn’t defending him.
  13. The offspeed and breaking balls were all basically just down the middle. The cutter was a back door cutter to Suwinski that just leaked out over the plate a bit too much that he hit the HR to CF on. I agree with your opinion that Burnes doesn’t use the top of the zone enough so hitters can just keep their eyes on the lower half of the zone. Makes commanding pitches pretty important because hitters will be able to get good contact on mistake pitches when they are only looking at the lower half of the zone. Even when Burnes was throwing a 4 seam FB back in 18 and 19 he wasn’t really utilizing the pitch up the zone. The guy just for whatever reason doesn’t like pitching up there.
  14. Definitely needs more AB. I’d be looking to have Canha play LF or RF and Frelick, Taylor, Yelich to mix in more off days to get Rowdy’s bat into the lineup against RHP.
  15. Because I feel it’s necessary for posters that post completely made up nonsense that don’t have any semblance of truth/reality to have their posts corrected. Why don’t you just not make stuff up going forward and then I won’t have to correct you?
  16. See no there is not both can be right here because Burnes throwing everything the same speed is just not even remotely true. Why is this hard for you guys to understand. Here are the pitches Burnes got knocked around on yesterday. 87.7 mph Changeup 95.3 mph Cutter 79.9 mph Curveball 81.3 mph Curveball 82.7 mph Slider
  17. Weird because I never called you a name. I said you spewed total nonsense because you just totally made something up that was very obviously not true. I didn't say you were stupid. I didn't say you were a moron. I said you spewed nonsense. Conversely you did dip into personal insults. You called me a "keyboard bad guy" (fyi it's keyboard warrior). You not so subtly implied you would physically beat me up and kept telling me to meet you in person (threatening physical harm...yikes). You said I live in my grandma's basement. I never called you a name. I never hurled out insults towards your character. I said your patently false statement was nonsense that's it. No name calling.
  18. Literally did that right above and you even commented on me checking myself. I try to keep all my comments based on fact/reality and not wild opinions that aren't remotely associated with reality like your post that started all of this. Your post that said Burnes throws all of his pitches around the same speed and that's why he struggles when in reality he doesn't throw any 2 pitches the same speed other than his 2 FB especially with his new sweeper that he's using in place of his slider. FB Sinker - 95 FB Cutter - 94 CH - 89 SL - 85 CB - 80 4 pitch types with unique velocities and movement profiles. Not even close to 4 pitches that are around the same velocity.
  19. Must be super weird seeing someone say something not accurate and correct themselves when they realize it was incorrect. Real foreign concept to someone like you whose reaction to being corrected by someone is trying to physically fight them.
  20. Wisconsin is technically still in contention because Cedar Rapids won the 1st half so 2nd place in the 2nd half makes the playoffs but it's not a very real chance of making the playoffs. Peoria is 3 games up and I am pretty sure they own the tiebreaker. That means WI needs to go 5-1 against Cedar Rapids this week and Peoria would need to go 1-5 against the Beloit team that Wisconsin just swept. Not very likely. If I had to bet, I would probably bet Wilken gets a cup of coffee in AA either once Wisconsin is eliminated or once the season is over and then head to Biloxi for their final week.
  21. Yeah me misremembering how long the winning streak was isn't the same as bulldogboy being negative in every single game thread and making up things to be negative about when those things are very much not true.
  22. Since June 1st the Brewers are 13th in the MLB in runs scored. Since July 1st the Brewers are 11th in the MLB in runs scored. Since August 1st the Brewers are 10th in the MLB in runs scored. The offense has been fine over the last 3 months. Yeah they have nights like tonight where they can't string enough hits together with RISP but they have just as many other nights where they do string together hits and score runs. Burnes coming into today had an 81 ERA- which was 27th out of 105 pitchers with 100 IP this season. 19% better than league average ERA and 27th out of 105 SP with a reasonable amount of innings pitched = league average pitcher I guess.
  23. Yes sorry 9 game winning streak. But hey we lost to the Pirates so the sky is falling and they are trash and will miss the playoffs.
