The offensive environment in AAA is outrageous this season even in the International League. Here are Toro's monthly wRC+. April - 73 wRC+ May - 85 wRC+ June - 87 wRC+ July - 130 wRC+ So those OPS numbers look pretty but July is the only above average month he's had at the plate.

Winker and Perkins destroyed AAA pitching this year and Toro is 13% below league average and like I said his "versatility" is useless because he's not actually good at any of those spots defensively. It's like saying Hiura is versatile defensively because he can play 1B, 2B, LF...

What is your obsession with Toro? He has an 87 wRC+ in AAA and while he is "versatile" defensively he is not good at any of those spots.

I know Hiura hasn’t exactly been crushing it since he returned from his injury but feels like it’s time for him to get a chance with Rowdy out for a month maybe more

Yeah not sure if he will be available or not, but if he is he seems like a perfect guy to target (assuming Mark is okay taking on that contract). I really dislike trading for rentals and much prefer trading for guys with 2+ years of control even though they are usually more expensive. Get Jimenez, an IF bat, and an OF bat. Maybe something like Ha-Seong Kim (if San Diego sells) and Grichuk? C: Contreras 1B: Tellez 2B: Turang 3B: Kim SS: Adames LF: Yelich CF: Wiemer RF: Grichuk DH: Jimenez Bench: Caratini, Anderson, Miller, Taylor Feel like that team is a bit to RHH heavy so maybe a LHH OF instead of Grichuk or a LHH IF instead of Kim? The problem is I have no clue who is going to sell. Feel like Colorado, Washington, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Mets, Cubs, Padres, Athletics, Royals, White Sox, Tigers should all sell but the Mets, Cubs, Padres might not want to sell.

I'm all in on the Eloy Jimenez train. 3.5 years of team control counting the team options but with his injury history, I don't think he would be very expensive to acquire. Trade for him and put him at DH and in the clean up spot for the next 3.5 years. I seriously don't think we would have to trade any of our top 8 prospects to get him (Chourio, Quero, Misiorowski, Frelick, Black, Lara, Gasser, Rodriguez)

Such an interesting story as well. Didn't he go to BYU and then did a multi-year mission or something? He only threw 73 innings in his college career.

The issue is Winker has been better since coming off the IL. He has a 95 wRC+ and in his last 10 games he has a 133 wRC+

He has negative value because BTV struggles at valuing team options correctly and his extensive injury history. Definitely do not think he's a negative asset. He's on my short list for potential trade acquisitions. We could trade for him and have the DH spot set for the next 3.5 seasons.

Wilson started his rehab assignment on 6/27 so he either needs to be DFA'd or added to the roster after 30 days which means he will likely be on the roster within the next 12 days.

Strzelecki isn't injured. He was just optioned to AAA and he's been terrible since being optioned with a 14.73 ERA and almost 10 BB/9 in his first 3 appearances. Wilson will replace Mejia but once that happens our bullpen is pretty locked down with Williams, Payamps, Peguero, Wilson, Milner, Uribe, Wilson.

O'Rae is nearing 100 PA in the ACL this year and he currently has an OBP over .500. Not any pop there right now, but he's getting on base and stealing a ton of bases. -

By ERA yes but Hader’s worst outing was after he was temporarily demoted from high leverage. Rogers put up -1.02 WPA for the Brewers. Hader put up -0.24 WPA for the Padres. Maybe Hader doesn’t get temporarily demoted/shut down if he stayed in Milwaukee so his WPA gets worse, but Rogers was worse than Hader in leverage spots after the trade.

I really doubt Wilken will take $3.9M to sign

He’s Rule 5 eligible this offseason and he will need to be protected so while there isn’t a huge rush, they are burning option years going forward if he just stays in AAA all next season
