  1. If he wasn't Burnes "personal catcher" he'd probably be headed towards a DFA at some point this season. His framing has been really poor and he has the worst pop time in the MLB.
  2. Red don't really look like a bad team right now
  3. For reference. A is Chase Davis, B is Dylan Crews, C is Cam Fisher, D is Wyatt Langford.
  4. I think there's probably a 0% chance Davis makes it to 33. I wouldn't be shocked if he was gone before 18 even.
  5. Here’s a free 3 months from Best Buy. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-free-apple-tv-for-3-months-new-or-returning-subscribers-only/6484512.p?gbraid=0AAAAAD-ORIgjAzLa_8yAeINPtwIfeUMFK&gclid=CjwKCAjwpuajBhBpEiwA_ZtfhR8blwlXkhJNcltjjQn7K8p6yB1qb3Ee8pZiW5EbodF1wzRLv2e6UxoCcF4QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&loc=1&ref=212&skuId=6484512
  6. Amaya unfortunately picked the worst possible player to walk. He walked Victor Scott II who is tied for the entire minor league lead in SB at 35.
  7. I'm glad it appears they learned from their mistakes and haven't called up Urias yet. He has not looked good on the rehab assignment so far and they gave him more time instead of rushing him back.
  8. Biloxi kind of just lost themselves the game today. 6 runs on 16 hits is not very good. They coughed up leads in the 6th, 7th, and 8th innings. They had a PO, CS, and a bad send for an out at home. They also grounded into 2 double plays. A very winnable game that they unfortunately choked away. They should probably be up 3-0 in the series and 2 games behind Pensacola for 1st place in the South Division. Instead they are 6 games back.
  9. Also Miley is already throwing bullpens. He's only topped out at 35 pitches so far but we are 2 weeks into the estimated 6-8 week IL stint. If things hold he's probably returning in 4-5 weeks and well ahead of the original timeline.
  10. I get why they did it. Mitchell and Frelick both got hurt and Perkins was looking completely overmatched, but the decision really is starting to look like the wrong one.
  11. What's crazy is the report on him was amazing stuff but absolutely zero control. If he had control issues, he certainly hasn't shown them this season. Only 4 BB and 1 HBP in 13.1 IP.
  12. Chourio and Quero both with missed HR by about a foot tonight.
  13. My goodness Luis Urias is a very slow human being. Singleton hit a flyball to deep left center field off the wall with 2 outs and Urias was thrown out at home by about 5 feet.
  14. A bit over eager trying to stretch it to a double. Moore reached on a HBP to open the next inning and was easily caught stealing (think Moore is a sneaky slow type guy like Luis Urias)
  15. Ethan Murray just hit a HR to right center easily clearing the wall by a good 10+ feet. That's an impressive power display. He's been extremely hot the last month and is looking like a guy we should all certainly be keeping a closer eye on.
  16. For some reason that run is being counted as an earned run. Not that it matters but the poor scorekeeping this week has been very bothersome to me for some reason.
  17. Ernesto Martinez should be a good defender with his size and flexibility (he can do the splits) but it just hasn't translated to good defense. His bat has been pretty awful this season as well. Hall and Metzinger are both currently seeing more time than him at 1B right now. I really hope the Campbell promotion was real. With Hiura injured, the Sounds should have no issues find Campbell plenty of playing time between 1B, 2B, LF, DH. Plus he's earned the promotion having a 117 wRC+ in 366 PA in AA.
  18. Passed ball costs the Mudcats a run in the 1st inning.
  19. Because they are outliers that skew the overall performance?
  20. I think the pitching numbers look worse than they actually are because of a few outlier run totals. If you take out the 12, 15, and 18 run totals then the pitching staff gave up 4.1 runs per game (not just earned runs) which is pretty solid.
  21. I never said that he was a for sure every day player. Just that his ceiling is better than 4th OF.
  22. I'd like to see Campbell actually start in AAA. He has been on the bench in the first 2 games. If he doesn't start today, then I fear that he was just promoted as depth with Toro and Monasterio up in the MLB. There's kind of just a logjam. Will be hard to get Miller AB in AA with Clarke and Warren already splitting time at 1B and Quero behind home plate. I agree he probably should be promoted, I just don't know where he will get the AB from.
  23. I just don't think that's his ceiling. He was basically any every day player from mid-June to the end of the season last year and had a 113 wRC+ in that time. He's definitely on the streaky side but he's never slumped like this before in his MLB career. I mean we are at like 80 PA and his wRC+ is in single digits.
