  1. I think Teheran might survive over Rea for the sole fact that Rea has an option and Teheran does not.
  2. 94 EV HR. Hard to get excited about that.
  3. Good. Get all of their runs out of the way against Pittsburgh before they play us.
  4. I think they can give him all the time in the world. (Lauer himself said he expects the rehab assignment to be longer). Teheran and Rea have both been solid as depth guys. Miley makes a rehab start on Sunday and has said he only expects himself to need the 1 rehab assignment. With Miley back in the next two weeks, Lauer can take all the time he needs.
  5. Was interesting how heavy Peralta went to his FB. Think he threw it almost 70% of the time. It was a good adjustment by him/Contreras to rely on it that much last night when the Orioles could barely touch it.
  6. Didn’t really seem like Lauer was actually pitching to win. 59 pitches and 46 of them being FB when they couldn’t touch his secondaries feels like he’s just trying to mechanically get right and get the velo back on his FB. He averaged 92 last night which is between the 93 last year and 91 on the season which I think is an alright start.
  7. deGrom getting TJ surgery.
  8. Brewers current wRC+ is 87. If you swapped the 242 DH PA at 55 WRC+ for 242 DH PA at 100 wRC+, the Brewers team wRC+ would be about 92 so still not good at all. DH is obviously a huge issue but it is far from the only issue. C - 108 wRC+ (6th) 1B - 97 wRC+ (19th) 2B - 87 wRC+ (18th) SS - 67 wRC+ (28th) 3B - 116 wRC+ (6th) LF - 104 wRC+ (13th) CF - 98 wRC+ (20th) RF - 52 wRC+ (30th) DH - 55 wRC+ (28th) We are in the bottom 3 at 3 different positions and 2 of those positions are positions you are supposed to get excess offensive value from (DH and RF). I guess the silver lining is Tyrone, Winker, Voit, (and soon Turang) are not longer on the roster and they were the biggest culprits to the poor numbers at those positions.
  9. That seems pretty notable. When is the last time the Brewers had a 17 year old pitcher completely skip the DSL? Has it ever happened?
  10. 90th EV, Barrel%, sweetspot% are my 3 favorites. LA can be noisy because of outlier pop up and ground ball.
  11. Can't wait for the should we re-extend Ashby article to come out next!
  12. I'm not too certain of that. I think Turang and one of Brosseau/Toro will be sent down for Urias and Adames.
  13. Yes @brewers888 has said it multiple times.
  14. AL Central is definitely worse than the NL Central.
  15. Against a LHP, I really hope they don't give him the day off. Would love to see him at SS tomorrow.
  16. Cardinals just swept by the Pirates and now head to Texas to play 3 against the red hot Rangers. They have the worst record in the NL right now.
  17. Jarvis gives up 2.90 BB/9 and no minor league pitchers average 6 IP per game. What is this nonsense? If you’re going to churn out like 20 articles a week can you at the bare minimum not have every article riddled with incorrect data?
  18. Cardinals bullpen blew a 5-1 lead to the Pirates in the 7th inning. They currently don't have a single pitcher on their active roster with an ERA below 3.50
  19. Amaya unfortunately picked the worst possible player to walk. He walked Victor Scott II who is tied for the entire minor league lead in SB at 35.
  20. Ernesto Martinez should be a good defender with his size and flexibility (he can do the splits) but it just hasn't translated to good defense. His bat has been pretty awful this season as well. Hall and Metzinger are both currently seeing more time than him at 1B right now. I really hope the Campbell promotion was real. With Hiura injured, the Sounds should have no issues find Campbell plenty of playing time between 1B, 2B, LF, DH. Plus he's earned the promotion having a 117 wRC+ in 366 PA in AA.
  21. I'd like to see Campbell actually start in AAA. He has been on the bench in the first 2 games. If he doesn't start today, then I fear that he was just promoted as depth with Toro and Monasterio up in the MLB. There's kind of just a logjam. Will be hard to get Miller AB in AA with Clarke and Warren already splitting time at 1B and Quero behind home plate. I agree he probably should be promoted, I just don't know where he will get the AB from.
  22. Unlikely considering Corbin Burnes is pitching basically the exact same way he did last season with a virtually identical pitch mix.
