  1. Can say the same about his first start as well and he only gave up 1 run and had 11 K's in that one
  2. Yeah looks like Williams had his error removed. Good decision imo. Was scorched and a tough hop.
  3. The two guys I wanted to be pinch hit for in the 6th and 7th combined for 3 RBI in the 8th inning. Another wiguy94 failure and Pat Murphy masterclass. That guy is pretty good at his job, huh?
  4. Letting Hamilton face a LHRP two times in a series is not ideal. He is horrid against LHP.
  5. 3 more years after this one. He's a FA heading into 2030.
  6. Also it's hardly surprising that Rasmussen dealt with more injuries. He was already 2 TJ down when we traded him.
  7. You're speaking my language. I've been advocating for this for a while now though I could see a AAA team in Madison cutting into some Brewers attendance so not sure the Brewers would be totally on board.
  8. I was definitely expecting McClanahan to look a lot rougher than that. Really impressive stuff from him having not pitched in an MLB game since 8/2/23.
  9. Especially because they still had 2 challenges left and it's not like it was a glaringly obvious strike. Like 75% of the ball was out of the strike zone.
  10. Henderson had a silly dominant 3 innings pitched today. 14 whiffs on 22 swings for a 64% whiff rate. His FB was particularly dominant with 11 whiffs on 14 swings for a 79% whiff rate.
  11. So looks like JD Thompson might be hurt?
  12. That’s not what Murphy said. He called the pitcher a reverse splits lefty
  13. Interesting decisions in the bottom of the 9th letting Mitchell and Hamilton face a LHP. Admittedly his best pitch is his changeup and not like the bench RHH options were super inspiring
  14. There was also that crazy sequence in the 9th inning where Bauers backswing hit the catcher on a passed ball. Ortiz (I think) scored from 3B on the play but it was ruled back because of batter's interference and the Brewers ended up losing the game. Edit: Found the play. Guccione was the HP ump and boy he was really unpopular with Brewers fans in that series. https://www.mlb.com/video/jake-bauers-strikes-out-swinging-jake-bauers-out-on-batter-interference?partnerId=web_video-playback-page_video-share
  15. The net present value on Williams deals is 3/$45M. That's a heck of a lot more than 2/$22M Ashby as a RP in his career - 2.49 ERA, 2.41 FIP, 2.63 xFIP, 1.12 WHIP, 22.8% K-BB Devin Williams 3 seasons before entering FA - 2.91 ERA, 2.58 FIP, 2.81 xFIP, 1.02 WHIP, 26.1% K-BB Think maybe you weren't aware how good Ashby has been as a RP in his career. It's right up there with the best relievers in the sport.
  16. Ashby if he continues pitching how he has in his career as a RP will have plenty of trade value in those team option years where the Brewers can just trade him. He's been an elite LHP out of the bullpen in his career. $22M over 2 years with club options on both to protect in case of injury is probably a pretty valuable asset around the league if he keeps it up.
  17. I imagine Quero gets optioned because they don’t want him sitting on the bench a lot and Matos is our short term DH against LHP while Chourio and Vaughn are injured and if he performs could stay on the roster even when Chourio returns.
  18. He would still hit FA at 31 even with the two club options. Maybe things change between now and then but good SS still get paid at 31 years old though maybe a decade from now teams will wise up to giving players over 30 long term deals.
  19. I’m genuinely in disbelief at this because there are so many question marks with his bat still but if he has slow developing power like Turang did, then this contract will be a steal. We all would kill for Turang to be on this sort of extension right now.
  20. Who remembers what happened the last time the Brewers played the Rays in Milwaukee?
  21. Looks like an All-Star jersey with Wisco on the front. Doesn’t seem very city connect but they cant all be good. Hopefully they don’t try to force orange into the color scheme like the Bucks have tried to do with the color blue.
  22. I hope Contreras just thought they didn’t have any challenges left. If not then that was a pretty bad miss from him not challenging a 1-2 ball call in the 9th inning up 2 runs. You try to preserve your challenges literally for that exact moment.
  23. Kind of funny that with all the prospect love for the Nashville lineup that it's been the bottom of the order more AAAA depth guys that have been the best hitters through 1+ game.
