  1. Agree, pen needs LH help. But it also needs another arm besides Wilson to pitch multi-innings to take the load off the rest of the bullpen. Eventually getting rid of commandless Chafin would allow the team to add 2 more arms to get to 9 for Craigtember. 2 of Ashby/Lauer/Gasser. Best case from Ashby seems to be towards the end of the season before his velo could be back. Lauer is up to 94 for 1 maybe 2 innings before it drops, so 1-2 innings stints, and Gasser for 2-4 innings stints/tandem.
  2. I’m going with innings in Craigtember— Williams-Payamps-Uribe-Megill-Milner-Peguero-Lauer-Gasser-Wilson. Lauer can go 1-2 innings to hold his velo, Gasser can pitch 2-4 innings stints to stay relatively stretched in case of injury to a starter.
  3. Uribe & Megill’s command has actually been really good, bordering on exceptional. SSS granted, but both look like real weapons moving-forward. Misiorowski isn’t pitching for the big-club this year.
  4. Not just the strength of the farm, but the proven strength of this team’s drafting-skill. 4 great drafts in a row shows a pattern, a system that can be counted on to repeat. Trade Burnes if the prospect haul is sufficient, keep the other 2 for the picks, use the money savings (Burnes $16M) on a bat (Hoskins?), bring back Miley or a comparable FA starter, add Gasser and Ashby and offensively develop the young positional talent like the Reds andOrioles are doing and go contend for another central title.
  5. With 6 top 100’s 2. Chourio 25. Frelick 33. Quero 37. Misiorowski 90. Gasser 92. Black
  6. Trade Burnes, keep the rest. The team can contend without Burnes. They will still have a rotation with Woodruff-Peralta-Ashby-Houser-FA/Gasser/Rea/CRod. The Burnes Arby saved ($16M) can be used elsewhere to strengthen the team (Bat). A healthy Mitchell added to a more developed Frelick-Wiemer-Turang with Black-Chourio & Quero added throughout the year should improve the defense, speed, and offense. Adding a power bat to the lineup (3B/1B) thru FA or trade should be the priority. Maybe they can trade a couple of their top prospects for a controlled 3B, then get the prospects replaced with the Burnes trade. Trading Burnes, getting rid of Tellez-Caratini-Winker-Taylor-Urias pays for the Arby increases of Woodruff-Adames-Williams, salary increases of Peralta-Ashby and still leaves room to add a $15-20M FA and still enter next year with a payroll similar to the OD ‘23 payroll.
  7. Strange hill to die on with Uribe dominating big-league hitters out of the MKE bullpen. Chourio the second-ranked prospect in baseball and Quero one of the fastest-rising prospects in baseball. Not to mention Lara-YRod-Baez, 3 more potential future top 100’s. You’re 3 years too late with the narrative.
  8. You lost me with your IFA narrative when you failed to include Uribe and Quero with Chourio. Uribe is already dominating big-league hitters, albeit in a SSS. And Quero’s trajectory is to eventually be a top 10 prospect in the game, and the 2nd best C prospect behind Salas.
  9. Quero seems to have his power stroke back. Good to see.
  10. And progress is being made fixing the starter arm void with adding projectable arms in the last 2 IFA classes and of course the ‘23 draft adding 13 arms from which to work with. With all of the pre-arby positional talent ahead and team friendly deals with Peralta-Ashby, they should be able to add a nice FA starter to go with the aforementioned pair and Gasser-CRod-Rea for the ‘25 season. And if they can turn Misiorowski into a real starter — look-out.
  11. Absolutely is. This team’s infrastructure is as good as there is in baseball. PDS-analytics-amateur draft department-IFA department- independent league scouting-catching development, and with the changes made to the hitting development in ‘19 &’20, hopefully the final piece comes together.
  12. I want to see Henderson facing A+ hitters please.
  13. Absofrigginglutely. Considering market-size, this ownership group is outstanding, and Mark Attanasio, specifically, just a wonderful owner. His skill level in hiring the right talent to lead this franchise has been incredible. He was smart enough to recognize a generational talent in Stearns and in retaining another in Arnold. The criticism this team gets from some is outrageous. This team, thanks to MA and his hires, now have an infrastructure in place to win a championship/championships over the next decade. This last draft-class is a preview of what’s ahead.
  14. His high EV’s suggest it’s not a mirage. This is a steal of a draft-pick.
  15. Disagree. Even with all the command & control problems he still K’d 9 in less than 4 innings. This guy needs challenged, not babied.
  16. Quero back! Great news. Hope he can hit the ground running.
  17. Pratt-Bitonti-Wilken-Boeve-Knoth are all future top 100 potentials, so are Lara-Adams-YRod-Baez-Nadel-Ereu.
  18. Arnold isn’t going anywhere.
  19. This team is now like Tampa — next man up. The systems are in place, like at Tampa, for the quality infrastructure train to keep rolling along. Mike Groopman gets poached, Klentak gets hired, and the last 2 IFA classes were arguably their best back-to-back classes in team history. Not concerned in the least.
  20. The future of this team is incredible, with their worst team of the rest of this decade being next season, and even next season they will contend if they hold Adames & Woodruff for the picks, and trade Burnes. The combination of an elite infrastructure, FO, strong farm and good big-league team with a nice young core assures this of happening, imo. Next year — A rotation of Woodruff-Peralta-Ashby-Houser Rea-Gasser-Miley?/FA along with a Williams-Payamps-Peguero-Uribe-Milner bullpen gives the team a championship-type pitching-staff to contend even with a young & dynamic positional core, outside of Yelich-Adames-Contreras, that’s still developing. ’25 — we get 4 of the top 35 picks in the draft along with the pool money that comes with it giving the team yet another potential franchise-altering draft (‘23 being the other) just adding to the strength of the ‘28-‘30 teams. The ‘25 team positionally, should be developed to the point it will overcome the losses of Adames & Woodruff in the rotation and possibly the trading of Williams at the deadline, with the team also saving enough salary to add a FA pitcher or 2 to go with Peralta-Ashby-Gasser-CRod-Blaylock-Misiorowski. ’26 is where the fun really begins with the maturation of Turang-Wiemer-Frelick-Black taking hold and the overwhelming talent of Chourio-Quero making this the fastest, most exciting team in baseball, with a young stable of arms that can pitch.
  21. Arguably the second-closest to the bigs is Blaylock, behind Gasser, obviously. My mistake.
  22. A- Santana for Severino > A — The 1B defensive upgrade is huge. Love the switch-hitting bat as well. Losing Severino stings because of the power potential but 3-4 years away helps along with the power 3Bbats added in the last 2 drafts. Canha for Jarvis > B+ — Canha is definitely a bat upgrade. Love his AB’s, baserunning and defensive versatility. Chafin for Strz > B — Definitely a win now move. Chafin helps move this years pen towards monstrous. Strz is a low heart-rate future bullpen mainstay. Fortunately, this team has quite the reliever factory. Urias for Blaylock > A+ — A future potential mid-rotation starter for 3 months of a bad baseball player — best trade they made at the deadline. Urias is playing on bad legs, becoming one of the slowest players in baseball that was not going to get tendered anyhow, and to get arguably our closest SP prospect to the bigs for him is a huge win in my book. Jackson for McKendry > B+ — Adding a AAA pitching prospect for a AAAA catcher is a win for me. CH is quite a weapon. The team is better offensively, defensively, running the bases and in the bullpen. All this without hurting the farm. Bravo to the FO.
  23. Losing Chirino & Yeager has hurt the Biloxi bullpen. Hopefully they will both be healthy to start off next season and not be with Biloxi long before getting the bump to Nashville. Both have good potential to be a part of the MKE shuttle next season at some point in time.
  24. Pitcher would be Ashby if he’s ready.
