Hiura has made adjustments to his swing and is not the same hitter he was prior. 23% K-rate for the year with Nashville, 22% since he returned from injury. Prior to injuring his knee, he had cut his K-rate to 17/18% for a 50+ AB stretch. His post-injury stroke isn’t quite where it was pre-injury, but more reps should get him back eventually. Hiura has to be back in the team’s plans with his reduced K-rate and is only a matter of time before he’s called-up.

If the bang I think you’re referring to is winning a WS, Fangraphs has us at a 1.7% chance, currently. Those odds scream sell to me, so accumulate as much prospect talent as possible and develop that talent over the next 2-3 seasons to a talent-laden, half-decade controlled team that would during a majority of that time period, have the financial-flexibility to add key veteran talent to finish-off the team.

Yeah I think it’s going to be a very long road to travel for Misiorowski, the Brewers, and Brewers fans to see Misiorowski end up in a rotation for MKE. Baby steps — with innings, pitches and type of pitches thrown. They seem to want him to command two pitches first before letting him throw CB’s and or introducing another pitch he hasn’t thrown much up to this point in his career. Its fascinating to me, watching the team and how they develop this guy.

In 53 PA’s, Turang is sporting a 17% K-rate, so a little lower than last year’s K-rate of near 20%. So he’s hitting the ball harder, without increasing his K’s, at least in the early going. His 4 errors in the field is what’s surprising, since he had zero with MKE.

I’m not talking about the Reds of the last 12 games, I’m talking about the Reds post-winning streak. They have THE MOST athletic and fast team in baseball, more so than Arizona. They have incredible positional depth, and versatility. Their lineup has no weakness. They can limit Greene’s innings if they want to and Abbott’s as well, especially if they decide to trade for 1-2 of Bieber-Giolito-Lynn-Scherzer-Verlander. They have so much prospect IF depth in their farm, they can get multiples of any pitchers they want put up for sale at the deadline. Their depth is such they won’t be mortgaging their farm.

They only need to get to the deadline near 1st place and Krall has already said they would add the pitching they would need to win the central. They have the prospect capital, especially IF, where they can add multiple starters and bullpen arms. A Bieber and a Giolito would make their rotation as strong as any in the game when added to Greene-Abbott and a September Lodolo. Add a Chapman to the bullpen and that team could win the World Series.

The Reds have offense, defense, speed, athleticism capable of winning a WS. But they will need to add pitching at the deadline, which Krall has already said they will do. Another starter like Giolito or Bieber to go with Greene-Abbott and a finally healthy September Lodolo, should give them a super strong 4-some rotation. Adding Chapman or other KC bullpen arms to go with Sims & Diaz will make their bullpen quite strong as well. This team is dangerous.

I’d say Tyler Black is ready for AAA.

Positionally, this team needs all new players. They have the talent in the minors and they just need to commit to developing them at the big-league level. It should start as soon as Frelick and Hiura get their strokes going at Nashville. Turang the same. Tellez and Winker can both go. They are both the antithesis of what this team should be. Just lazy and slow as molasses. Move on.

Lots of talent showing in the early going with both of the DSL teams and their ACL team. The IFA classes the last 4 years have deepened the bottom of this system big-time, as well as added extreme talent like Quero-Chourio-Lara-Guilarte and Severino. This last class, at least early on looks extra special with some of the pitching, along with the 3 high-bonus positionals. Di Turi, Ereu and Rodriguez all off to good starts. Hope Ereu’s absence isn’t serious and he can get back in the lineup asap.

Sorta agree with your ranking. The combination of young core (Contreras-Turang-Mitchell-Wiemer-Frelick-Peralta-Ashby-Williams) strong farm system and tradeable assets will form the team to beat from ‘26-‘28+. 2024 & ‘25 likely belong to the Reds, who are ahead of us in prospect development. The Pirates have to prove they can develop pitching first to win me over. The Cardinals farm is devoid of impactful pitching just like their big-league team. The Cubbies are a sleeping giant due to their trillions and will probably pose the biggest threat along with Cincinnati to the Brewers over the next half-decade. The Brewers need to put up Burnes at the trade-deadline and make him available to the highest bidder because he would be the most sought after player available and return 2-3 eventual starters, 1-2 of them impactful. Woodruff probably won’t have enough time to show the baseball world he’s strong and healthy so he probably should be held until the offseason, the same with Adames, unless the LAD make a huge offer. With that said, depending on what happens over the next 6 weeks, the team can sell-off more than Burnes and reset for ‘25, just sell Burnes and stand pat in hopes of winning the central with a rotation of Woodruff-Peralta-Miley-Teheran-Rea-Gasser-Houser, or trade mid-levels for a bat upgrade. And this offseason trade Woodruff, Adames, Urias, Tellez and Houser and instantly have the best farm in baseball, develop in ‘24 and ‘25 and with some good fortune start winning again in ‘25.

Yes they would and they could easily accomplish that and add Andrews to the shuttle. It’s time. It’s past time.

And next year adding Baz. Maybe Sternburg takes on the salary in an attempt to win the WS and get the new stadium built. The Rays sure have a nice system from which to choose from.

Manzardo & Williams plus sounds good to me. 6-7 years of a better hitting Willie Adames at SS and great bat 1B. Just don’t think Tampa would be a realistic trade partner for Burnes. I don’t think they would get into a bidding war for Burnes, at least not like the Padres, Rangers, Jays, Mets or Phillies might.

I think I remember reading the plan was for him to get a week or less worth of games in at AZ before heading to Nashville.

Nice to see Severino starting to live up to his lofty scouting report from back when he signed in January of ‘22. Scouts saw the power potential as a 16/17 year old and now we’re starting to see it as an 18 year old in the ACL in the early going. That power potential at 3B is huge for this teams farm system.

They should do both this trade-deadline. Buy & Sell. Have to sell Burnes just because of his being the number 1 player available and the bidding war that would ensue. They might even get a player that could help them in August/September like Ezekiel Duran from Texas, who i guess would likely be one of the bidders with deGrom having TJ. The rest they could hold, unless the LAD make a big offer for Adames, who will start to regress to the mean over the next 7 weeks. They have enough pitching with Miley, Woodruff, Peralta, Rea, Teheran, Houser and Gasser, who’s about ready for call up. Offense needs buttressed, and they have Urias they could trade for a less controlled better hitter and mid-level prospects they can also trade to improve the offense and possibly add a bullpen arm.

Serves Cleveland right for having boatload after boatload of IF prospects and a subsequent 40-man issue.

Power bats & power arms please. 2 of each thru the first 4 rounds should do it.

Jon Daniels is long-gone from that organization and Chris Young isn’t going to not trade with Cleveland because of one bad trade. My guess is with deGrom having TJ, Texas will want a 1st/2nd game playoff starter and Bieber fits the bill. But so does Burnes.
