  1. DS is pretty awesome for a portable system. Were I to buy one of the two it'd definitely be the DS. There's a solid game library, screens and controls are done well, and the price is right.
  2. I'd only do the trade for Pierre if he had one more season left AND we didn't have Cameron and his option. I have no interest in the guy unless it's a money saving measure which fills a hole. I'd rather trot Hall back out there than acquire Pierre.
  3. So after watching Soup today, I'm as disgusted as I'm sure all of you are - dude frustrates me to no end. With plenty of money off the books and the need for another solid starting pitcher, does anyone see an equally-overpaid but superior pitcher to target in trade? That is, if Suppan is due $27MM including the buyout for the next two years, and we could say he's maybe worth $13MM as a free agent this year, could we find a pitcher worth $20MM who's paid $34MM on a team that'd like to shed payroll?
  4. Cool dude, come to a Brewer site and call Prince fat. Well, he is fat, and Hart is ugly, but they're OUR fat and ugly guys (as opposed to Zambrano who is fat and ugly but not our guy). Except Hart right now, I'll call him Bowling Green's ugly guy until he hits for squat. Once he hits well I'll say he has a "unique bone structure".
  5. Freecreditreport.com commercials just keep getting more ridiculous and making me hate that loser even more. I'm sorry, but if you're a healthy young single guy with a job and you can't buy a $150 bike without credit, you're simply a complete moron.
  6. I'd totally be down with taking one of those DVD's off the hands of someone with an extra.
  7. Trading for him would be a phenomenal move, even if very pricey, if we had one of Sheets or CC coming back next year and a more solid pen, as it'd give us a 1-2-3 punch and pitching staff that makes me drool. However, I just don't want to completely clear out the farm system for a window of maybe a couple of years because it still leaves us with several holes to fill and shaky postseason chances.
  8. Looking at it now, yes, I'd rather have a couple years of Hanley Ramirez instead of 2 comp picks for Sheets. However, if we would have gotten hot and Sheets stayed healthy while we won it all this year, I'd say "no". It's not really fair to look back on several years of failing to win it all and then decide you'd rather be better in the future than in the past.
  9. A scarecrow with huge guns and wicked abs wearing weightlifting gloves. The chicks with them will be all like "oooh SNAP, you fine baby", and then the guys will be all like "shut up and stop trying to cheat on me". Then they'll get in a fight and the girls will say "take me home jerk", and they will because they're highschoolers who don't know anything.
  10. I'm working all day, then going home and checking the box score. Yup, it sucks. Also, I have no DVR and don't even receive TBS anyway, so I can go to a sports bar, but I need to save my vacation days for when the girlfriend's mom comes from Japan in 2 months. Still, I have a couple priceless days off left that I'll save for the final game next Tuesday or league championship series games, should they happen and conflict with my schedule.
  11. I think we can still safely offer arbitration (without being a doctor who fully understands his outlook) as someone with deep pockets will want to lock him up and offer a multi-year deal which pays much less in 09 than in subsequent years.
  12. I'm actually pretty sure he was banned Casey, but perhaps it wasn't an official ban.

  14. Agreed, I'm putting money in now, but I kept far away last year when foreclosures were happening all over and the market still somehow looked good. Instead, I used that money to pay down mortgage and student loan debt a little to save the measly 6.25% interest, but that looks like a pretty shrewd move now. I'm absolutely nowhere near being financially fluent, but there are times when a moron should see what's coming.
  15. That's not what I'm saying though. I'm saying that if you really had a grip on the market and bailed for safer investments when the market peaked, then re-invested when it bottomed out, your aggregate gain would be way bigger than if you just "ride it out" forever. Someone who got out at the peak/bubble in 2000, then pumped back in when we'd seemed to recover post-9/11, then bolted a year ago when they saw the garbage housing market's implications would (obviously) be far ahead of someone who stayed in. Analyzing almost anything requires both molar and molecular analyses.
  16. The logic of investing in the stock market and stubbornly sticking with it "for the long haul" may be seriously doubted now. Look at the "growth" of the Dow since late 2003, or even if you got in during 1999 or 2000, and then look at the return you'd have if you found a secure investment growing at the meager historic inflation rate of 3.5%. On a molar level, you'll still probably come out ahead in the stock market if you're young, but if you could predict activity well, you'd divert money away from stocks to conservative investments at bad times and return when indicators look better.
  17. Right now I don't even care about Matt Laporta, may as well be Matt Mieske. We made the freakin playoffs for the first time since 3 years BEFORE the introduction of Max Headroom, 6 years BEFORE Zubaz were released - think about that.
  18. I can't even fathom what he's gonna get paid after this ridiculous close of the season.
  19. Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!OMG!!!!! I<3--------------------------> CC!!!!!!!!!!!! He's mah BFF cuz we luvz DINOSAWRZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!! LoLz RoFl!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Hart simply looks like total garbage right now, that's the most delicate way to possibly put it. I got sick to my stomach when he came up with the bases loaded, but at least he didn't hit into the DP I predicted.

  22. Small banks aren't in nearly the same trouble because they can react quicker and adapt to changes in the market. Behemoths can't do the same thing, since every change is on a way bigger scale and takes way more effort.
  23. I'm interested to see what they do with Ryan once Pam's back. I'm sure they didn't just bring him back for 1 or 2 episodes. I hope they did, because he's really the only character on that show I've never liked. As soon as I saw him on the opening credits I let out a huge groan. Like Mike Felder said, it's just too outlandish and stupid for him to have come back, unless it's setting up a "Michael never got permission and is gonna get in huge trouble, be demoted to sales, and Jim takes over" set up. Then maybe Jim has a job that pays well while Pam can't get work in graphic design in Scranton and there's trouble.
  24. I get it wet with hot water, then scrub in pretreater (shout, etc), let is sit 10 minutes, then rinse it thoroughly with hot water.
  25. I'd also have to go Molitor on that one with Sabathia on the hill.
