Ok...so which is it, you fundamentally disagree with their philosophy, or you believe they've lied about it? It feels pretty obvious that Baseball is about getting hot at the right time. The Dodgers have had the most talent several years and not won it, the Braves were very clearly the best team in the NL last year...and who won the NL? AZ. So I'll take them winning the division year in and year out rather than trying to make some big move to 'try and compete' with the big markets. I also don't actually have a say in it and there's NOTHING more annoying than someone THIS discussion. 'So you're alright with mediocrity.' Or this new "sink your teeth in," vague phrase. What does that entail exactly? You explain to me what "sinking their teeth in," means? Should they trade Misiorowski and Quero, screw the future? And then is whatever player we're acquiring, is there any guarantee we're going to win? This wasn't even supposed to be the year for this group. The window is JUST opening and you want to make sure you..."sink your teeth" into what? Crochet? A guy who's thrown about 1/3rd of the innings since HS, the last 8 years, this year? Who else? Or...is this a 'not gonna even bother' one also?

Ok. I suspect it's more because this is a perception you have in your head as opposed to EVERYTHING the Brewers and their Front Office have said and done. If you show me evidence that proves me wrong, I'm more than willing to accept that. If you say 'trust me, you're in denial, but I'm not going to bother to try,' then...it feels like that supports what I've said more than anything... THIS has been the Milwaukee Brewers 'creed' effectively since Stearns and then Arnold have been running things and Attanasio has stepped back.

No...not at all. That's why I LIKE how the Brewers operate. Because 48-33 sure as hell isn't mediocrity...but every year they've been good, if they made the "go for it' trades that people have pushed, aside from most just not working out, they sure wouldn't be 48-33 this year had they done that.

Then show me. Show me what I have forgot or don't understand. Show me when they've tried to fool us into believing they could make the types of moves the large market teams can make...because you're absolutely right, I must be forgetting if that's happened. The CLOSEST I can remember Attanasio coming is him saying they could have added any player's salary at the deadline when Soto was available in a trade. Any player who was traded, could have added their salary for that year. It should be really easy to find it they've constantly talked about making these big moves.

I honestly feel like they've done the exact opposite. They've made it clear they CAN'T do what the large market teams can and they're not going to try to. They've made a point of emphasizing their drafting ideology(under slot early and then more shots at high upside Prep arms or players later). The Pitching Lab, the LA Facilities. They've spent what's a LOT of money for this franchise to have some of the most advanced and cutting edge facilities to develop players...but they've made really no secret of the fact they just can't compete financially. I remember Attansio talking about trading Hader. He was defending the payroll talking about they didn't cut payroll and how nobody would have thought they'd pay a closer 11M. Well...that doesn't sound like an owner who's planning on competing with the likes of the Dodgers, Yankees, Mets when it comes to 'doing what it takes,' to compete with the big boys.

Rivian partners with Volkswagen. It seemed like a partnership was inevitable(or they'd just go under), but I was thinking Apple might partner with them. They clearly have the capital or then TSLA...but Volkswagen is interesting. Great vehicles, just a pain in some places to charge.

They've said "more bites at the apple," more than just about any team uses any phrase. They traded Corbin Burnes this year. I don't know what you think is or should change. They're trying to be competitive every year and develop young talent because...that is the ONLY way they can be competitive year in and year out. Who's misleading you? I really don't understand. They want to win, they're trying to win. They're not going to sacrifice the future and make bad trades so they can win. It isn't much deeper than that.

Weren't we in the 20 range a couple years under Cryst? I thought it was as high as 18 and then 25, 28 something like that 3 years under PC. Not trying to be negative, it was primarily driven by OL, LB and Mertz one class and very few CB, WR...

I've had a lot of surgeries and my shoulder was the worst. They weren't trying to get me to be able to throw a ball again, but...it was brutal. Broken Ankle, Femur, Wrist, torn ACL(s) and shoulder was the most painful rehab and the most frustrating just rebuilding strength. I'd imagine back and neck would be worse. I don't know that I recall any dead spots, but I also wasn't trying to get my spin rate up or rehab like that, just regain functional strength.

I know it's tough, but if anyone has just a range of velo for these guys(the younger guys)...Enniel Cortez, Gonzalez, I'd appreciate it. Not the end all and not everyone has to throw 98 to get outs, but it's nice to know if a kid with a projectable body is throwing 88 or 95...

I remember there was some talk that they may want to move off of Dort a couple years ago...but he's an elite defender(similar-ish to Jrue) in that he's thick, strong and he's got a good wingspan. But then last year he went out and shot 39% from 3. But that'd be an outstanding trade...and I don't know why OKC was ever looking to trade him, but he'd be an ideal fit. It feels like OKC is really building this team the right way and adding a Center in his mid 30s for a young core player is not the way to continue to do that...unless they are looking forward to who they'll have to pay and...I don't know, I can't see it for just Lopez and again, my understanding is the Bucks can't package multiple players. I would think a trade of Lopez to OKC would probably be a good fit in the short-term...it'd allow Chet to play the 4, take a lot of the wear and tear off him, but just doesn't line up with their window which is just opening. But like you, I've just spent much less time paying attention to a lot of these details and rumors than in the past, so maybe OKC thinks they can win it next year(they're not far away) and they'd be willing to.

Well it feels like every time these particular issues pop up, it's a TJ, but sometimes it really just requires rest. And then the kid came up, he was dealing and it seemed like the right move. Obviously, in retrospect, you would prefer he got it done when they found the bone spurs, but I can see why he wanted to pitch through it. He clearly felt good enough and he was helpful. But, it does make it hurt a little more. Perhaps he becomes an extension candidate(obviously not this but next off-season IF he comes back and shows he's had a successful rehab).

DL Hall as "the Hader," since...we always need to make a good lefty "the Hader," Ashby back. Do we really lose anyone? We just have a whole bunch of players coming back or up. Uribe, Megill, Williams...Wade Miley? I wouldn't hate that if he wants to pitch. Payamps, Peguero...Hudson, damn we are going to have a lot of pitching. Really just need an ace. There's this FA from Baltimore that Spotrac says is going to get 7/166....that could be fun! Ok, the last part of ~95.6% sarcasm, and maybe 4.4%

Yeah...that's fair. He's also 20 and there's room to grow. The point was...he's a 20-year-old with a projectable arm and I can understand why someone wouldn't like that deal...and to be honest, it's just more annoying when people are running around gatekeeping trade proposal as if ANYTHING said on this board is going to make even the slightest bit of difference in the real world. Up to 97 mean he can throw 97. And he's again, 20 and has a big league frame. But it's really not that important, I'd agree on that. -
I think they're fine with Anders. Didn't Bates miss a few kicks as well? I know he hit a couple 64 yarders and that was a big deal, maybe that'll come back to bite us, but Carlson has a big leg and the problem was certainly not limited to him.

Oh...so it was a nuanced take? You don't beleive the offers the Brewers would make would be satisfactory to the Mets? See...I just thought you were saying; Not effectively, "it'd take a lot." But I guess that's pretty much the same as "zero chance....like not a single chance." My bad!

I think he's just saying trade it to get under that 2nd apron. I don't want to speak for Cheese...but I think he knows you can exceed the cap to sign a pick or many FAs with Bird rights and most of that stuff. I'd agree, I'd also like to see them try and get young and hit on a player. I think that's really their best chance. There are guys who are overlooked. But, we'll see.

I love Reddick...I think the way he talks Basketball or just sports on those stupid shows where you just scream out your point...is brilliant(not a big fan of the disrespect he showed the old timers with the "playing against plumbers line)...anyway... when has this worked? Just hiring a guy who retired a few years ago as the HC? Maybe the Turkish Coach who is the best coach in Europe(per Giannis who...may have lost credibility with his coaching endorsements, but I don't know enough to argue in this case)...or just make LeBron the player-coach. Hell, make him the player/coach/GM.

In the world where this is an opinion there sport. But yeah, it's WILD to like the kid who's 20, throwing 97 striking out 14+ per 9! LOL...dude, when did you become the Police of who can favor what trades or prospects? Call your ass down! Oh...no, you're right. Fedde is basically Bob Gibson though, right? But walk me through this, he's had 2 good seasons(1 more than Fedde has had) and one of them was in 2016. Cool. So then the 4 WAR this year and the 3.9 two years ago....which one of those was a good season? He's had just the two and one was 2016, so...one of these isn't good. Stop gatekeeping what packages we're allowed to like... -

Yujanyer Herrera is a 20 year old with electric stuff, Boeve has thrived in AA a year after being drafted and Hunt is a...pretty damn interesting arm and Anderson has a stronger track record. Fedde was in Korea last year, 5+ERAs every other year. Anderson has an ERA in the last ~3 seasons overall and has been pretty damn solid and you're giving up less. That'd be my guess, but I don't know. Seems like a lot to give up for Anderson as well, but...I'm still a bit in the dark as to how good this Wichrowski is. I'm not giving up on Mitchell, but a toddler making a house with popsicle sticks has more structural integrity than Mitchell through his first couple years, so...that seems like a good reason to include him(though same could have been said for Molly at one point looking back). None of these guys really thrill me and we love our prospects. But I like a few of them. Anderson with our defense...would be alright. -

I like Anderson...I don't know about that trade, I haven't watched Wichorowski, I've been busier the last few months than normal, so...I don't know how good he is. Seems like some on here are talking about him as a future #3 or even better. I like Sal a lot also. Guys like him, Turang, they're just winners. They do little things that may not show up in the box score or they have more value to us than I think a team like LAA would value them at. -

I'm not trading Pratt and if I'm trading Misirowski, it'll be for a guy who is not just an ace, but who can pitch this whole season. I like Crochet, but in 8 years since his Sr year, ~300 IP, 88 IP this year. I like Crochet, but the Brewers are conservative with young arms. I just can't see that type of a trade for him. But, we'll see.
