  1. They don't have that #1, but that might be a good thing. I think Watson due to his rare athletic ability and Wicks because he looks SO Davante-esque are the most likely, but so many guys do so many things at a high level. Bo Melton looked incredible last year. Coming back, high pointing the ball, Doubs is the intermediate guy who can get you deep. Reed is the twitched up slot. DL-Would have liked to see a Leonard Taylor or someone with the upside at least to push for a spot. Same at edge, a Watts from Uconn. If they got Chatfield from Or State(he was on the list, now off) he could be a really versatile player. The news about Enagbare not tearing his ACL completely and not needing surgery is really good news. I knew nothing about him because I thought he was projected to go late Day2, early Day3. So felt too early so Milton just seemed perfect as a project. I think Clifford showed quite a bit last year and you could try and develop him. But Pratt sounds like he's smart, gets the ball out quickly, he's got straight-line speed, and is savvy. The type of guy who can maybe develop and net you a pick in 2-3 years while serving as a competent backup. A couple picks I wish they'd have made differently(Jaheim Bell a big one, he was made for this team)...but the big fella from Ga State looked really interesting. Certainly raw, but maybe an OG? Maybe they do start running more of a gap scheme on offense. There's gonna be a LOT of competition.
  2. Could be a huge addition in getting Bowden, the LS from Wisconsin. Arguably the best LS in this class. Also, Chatfield from OSU really stood out just from watching a few Oladapo plays.
  3. It's just a report from Hafley on where they think Stokes is at. There's not much to judge. They think he's healthy and confident he'll be back. It's not a guarantee that he's going to bounce back, but it's certainly good to hear. I look at it as one significant injury that he didn't really get a chance to bounce back from. If he's back...just to where he was as a rookie, this is a stacked secondary. If not, it's still a pretty damn good one...but one that may be more suited to more Cover2 than Single High.
  4. Lacks agility and speed? I just thought with the 28 TDs I thought it was, he was a better athlete. But, smart, gets the ball out quickly, that's what you're looking for in a backup. I thought Sean Clifford looked really good as a backup as well, but Pratt's interesting.
  5. Kalen King! Damn, I thought he was off the board! Probably not a starter, but a good, physical press corner, limited speed, but tough. More competition the Packers love talking about. For a "weak" as this draft was supposed to be on Day 3, there's a lot of really good athletes left.
  6. WR and DL makes sense(wouldn't mind Gabe Hall or Leonard Taylor yet)...but little surprising with CB. They must feel better about Stokes prospects of coming back strong and Valentine being a real dude. Watts out of UConn is a really athletic guy who's worth taking a flier on as well.
  7. @CheezWizHed Got your guy! I'm still in mourning over Jaheim Bell going to NE after they stole Wilson, the 6'7 WR also, but love seeing the QB, especially while Clements is there.
  8. The most Packers pick of all the Packers pick. You have Mahogany on the board, top 100 on most lists...I thought they'd add another OL and it was so predictable it'd be a guy few people have heard of! Draft analysts project, Gute laughs!
  9. Love that they see Oladapo as a potential Will Backer. Wonder if that means they'll be trying to add size. Owusu-Koramoah is obviously a lofty comp, but if he can just play that type of general role, that'd be really interesting. Gotta get past SF.
  10. Sure, but they just keep finding guys. Tobias Myers? He looked REALLY good. Gasser and Ashby on their ways back. I think they'll need to address it, but I still like how this team is built.
  11. Yeah...I think if AJJ was a 4th rd pick, fans would have felt much better about it. I thought he and Rudy Ford would mean we had less of a need for 3 safeties, but Gute apparently disagrees. I liked Oladapo...and Watts from UT as two box safeties in particular on Day3. Didn't even really consider Williams. Also, watching the rest of this draft play out, I have to think the Packers feel better about their OL than they kinda let on. Clear need at RG. I think that'll be Morgan in Yr1 with a chance to compete at LT, but I would have thought we'd have seen another OL picked.
  12. I think this is also a sign they plan on playing a lot of 3 safety looks ala Dom Capers with how he used Woodson later on. That and with the new kickoff rule, a KR is more important, and physical coverage guys are important. Hopper, Oladapo, Williams should all be able to fill in there and cover kickoffs.
  13. LOVE this pick! I really did NOT think they'd go back to Safety...but I think he could be a WLB in the NFL....at worst a box safety and a monster on STs.
  14. I don't think you can read too much into picks at this point OTHER than they did not feel good about Royce Newman being your #2/3 backup OG. 169-...This where they get Boyd the DT? Would prefer they go back to the OL well with Mahogany or, my draft crush Bell from FSU. The 6'7 Johnny Wilson could also be a really interesting player. You'd have to carry 6 WR as I'd think Melton proved himself. And Jerry Rice's kid could be a nice pick. Seems like he's a really good athlete and like MHJ, his dad was a pretty solid WR!
  15. Not a bad idea at all. I mean...I don't really know anything about him, I kinda zeroed in on Milton, but Prattsounds like he's got really nice tools. They need to find a QB to keep Clement interested! Keep that man from enjoying his retirement PLEASE!
  16. Ooof...this Panthers pick from Germany is...BRUTAL. Terrible link and trying to sign some German song or...something?
  17. Anyone still holding out any hope for a Marcus Lattimore trade? Gute has openly talked about trading for a veteran players if it made sense. Lattimore's cap hit isn't too bad. He does have the ~14M option bonus like Rodgers, but we'd still be getting him for cheap. NOLA is looking to move off his cap hit and...that team has become one of the dumbest in the NFL IMO. They're not a competitor, but they're still blowing up their cap year over year.
  18. If we could all went "awww," when they draft someone...like you would when you see someone's baby and you have to fawn over it(even if you have to fake it)...that'd be even better. Like, "aww, that's cute! The Lions with another CB! You guys keep trynig little bud!"
  19. Well....yeah, but to be fair, it would have been Mitchell if anyone thought he'd be there at close to 25. And Cooper is a guy from Iowa who we see, there's the novelty of him being a white CB...that HAS to play into it for some people. But he's just a stud. He slipped, he's in a great spot and we got our guy. I'm over it now. I am not loving the last few picks of this draft, but I loved the first 4.
  20. Watts from Texas fits this REALLY well. ~6'3 205 CB, probably moves to safety. 9.8 RAS(IIRC). He'd be a great fit. A 6'2 kid from...Washington? Both 7th rd prospects. Watts from Uconn is another edge prospect in that range and Myles Cole...really interesting Edge. Lots of athletes. Can't coach size and speed...
  21. Yeah, I'd bet if Gute had it to do over again, he'd have moved up to secure DeJean, maybe moved back up to get the other Cooper. He kinda said he wanted to move up, they cautioned him to be patient(rumors they were trying to move up both into the late teens and early 2nd). But then the OL quality really dropped after the end of the 1st with Guyton and I think Morgan goes to SF, Balt or a team like that. Though, it's entirely possible he falls to 41. That said, I'm sure there are ALWAYS situations like this and at the end of the day, we got 4 guys I really like, one I just don't, but hope I'm wrong about and the Packers very likely get 3 impact starters, an important change of pace back and a LB who'll be a demon on STs and may take over for McDuffie in a year and they have 8 picks left to try and find a Wicks, Tom, Walker...Doubs(this list could go on for a while). So I'll give the draft an A-...just because I think if you take a LB, Wilson's medicals seemed like they'll be fine. Similar to last year when the Steelers took a player we had off our board in Danell Washington. We got Tucker Kraft and we could still end up with a really good blocking TE this year with EIGHT more picks(or my draft crushes Jaheim Bell, Joe MIlton among others).
  22. My head is bleeding it from scratching it so much after that move. MaGhee from Temple was a interesting MLB, Grey from UNC...Wilson who may not have been on their board...but is the prototypical Nickel Backer...Ah well...4 picks I love and 1 I hope I'll end up loving.
  23. Maybe the LS from NC State and a punter? I wouldn't take a Kicker. I think you're covered with Joseph and I believe Carlson will develop, but that 'Bama kid was good under pressure. I'd say 3 OL, 2 Florida State players(TE, CB) and...a QB.
  24. Quay is a pretty good pass rusher as well. The kid from Mizzou just didn't look all that physical in the little I saw...but should be a ST demon and won't be pressed into action unless he's ready with Quay, Coop and McDuffie.
  25. Nope...though I'd have loved that one. Not a fan of of Hooper. I thought MAYBE Wilson there. Ah well...trust Gute, but Tampa was a long, physical CB sitting there. Lloyd adds some juice though!
