  1. I am in on Flaherty...really would be 20 million.... 15 for 2025 and the 5 million buyout
  2. We need a really good solid game from Love. Also need both Kraft and Musgrave involved (i.e. getting passes thrown to consistently). Hoping we can stop their running game especially Sequan. Not thinking post concussion Jalen Hurts will be taking off as much. So often this year our team has been "off" and has never played a good to great 4 quarter game. Unfortunately I have a sense we lose by a couple of touchdowns. Just an aside: If we win the coin flip I REALLY hope LeFleur defers. I feel cautiously pessimistic.
  3. What are you thinking about this weeks game against the Eagle's? What are some of the keys to the game? Do you think they will win by a whisper or lose by a pounding thunderstrom? Does Jordan Love connect with anyone over 40 yards? Does Jordan Love pass for more than 300 yards? Can we get pressure on Hurts? Does Barkley break 150 rushing yards against our D? Should we receive or defer?
  4. I am luke warm PRO Profar coming to Milwaukee. Lot's of versatility and some wily veteran wisdom which would nest well with the youth of the Brewers. That being said I would strongly prefer jumping in head first and getting Alex Bregman. That would be an incredible move. Solidify third base and the entire infield. He is a winner. It is the longest of long shots but maybe just maybe they make a push from him. The winning culture of Milwaukee might be an attraction. Get Pat Murphy to recruit him. (Especially if he takes his grandkids with him on the visit) That signing would move the meter like the Yellich (trade) and Lo Cain signing did in 2018. Sweet Sweet Music to my ears!
  5. Tyler Black is in a murky no mans position this year. He won't start and there is not outfield room for him. Not sure what to do with him.
  6. I love speed. It's parallel toan on base percentage increase is worth noting in team building. I just remember the days of the Brewers having base cloggers which required an increase in batting average. Anyhow I enjoy athleticism and speed. ......... BUT also want a run producing third baseman. Happy New Year. Nice article!
  7. Never really thought much about this. Very interesting scenarios. I would personally rather see them get a good defensive , run producing third baseman. Last one I think we had was Aramis Ramierez ... Leave Turang at second and move Ortiz to SS. Caleb Durbin could then be our super utility Brew Master. IF WE ONLY COULD TRADE Rhys Hoskins. That would be my dream scenario.
  8. I thought he would go for more. That looks to be about $35 million a year. Think of what the Brewers could do if they had an additional $35 million a year in their player budget.
  9. Outstanding piece on a living legend of Milwaukee baseball. His impact is immeasurable. He possesses a remarkable capacity for bringing joy to others. What an irreplaceable gift he is to baseball.
  10. The Fanatic writers rock in this blog. We are fortunate in Milwaukee to have this kind of coverage. Thanks and Merry Christmas to all!
  11. Glass is more half full on my end too. Tyler Black is kind of in No Man's Land without a map and a compass. Wonder what it feels like for himself personally knowing the on ramp to the major's has road blocks. Gotta be kind of rough. Maybe some injuries open some opportunities.
  12. Good Point wibadger23... it may be that Yelich himself is not interested in such a move.
  13. Just not seeing the value of Hoskons for an 18 million dollar contract. Really 25ish million because of the payoff to get out of the contract next year. i would surely love to see Yelich at first base some day.
  14. "To sign (for instance) Josh Bell or J.D. Martinez today would probably cost more than the Brewers care to pay, but a month from now, that could change. Being persistently opportunistic is the name of the game for small-market teams, and the Brewers are good at that game." I appreciate this kind of forward thinking. It is a classic small market Brewer move which is very wise and often fruitful.
  15. What about the 20 yr old reliever who now would be in his second full year post ACL surgery Dikember Sanchez ? He played with Carolina last year. This could be one of those lightning in the bottle kind of Brewer moves.
  16. That would so awesome if they could trade him... trade him and even pay part of his salary.
  17. Call me crazy but I just don't see Caleb as a started in a Brewer infield which needs more power and pop since Adames left. He will be a fun and spicy utility player.
  18. You rock n roll writer dude! I appreciate the glass being half full. Maybe next year Caleb will be a full 16 oz pour as a Brewer player. Looking forward to the baseball hunger of a rising player being displayed which you referenced.
  19. I'll take a more wait and see....show me attitude r/t to Caleb. The article was a bit over the top on optimism. Let's see what reality presents next year.
  20. I really like that they got a solid number 3/4 starting pitcher. However we really, really , really need to upgrade third base. I see Ortiz as the shortstop and Turang staying at second but gosh darn we need some power and pop at the hot corner.
  21. Welcome to the World of Brewer fanaticism. Enjoy the ride!
