  1. Appreciate the article. An upgrade in the infield with more power is just what the Dr has ordered. Looking forward to seeing what Matt Arnold has in his sites. Thinking Willy Adames is too expensive a sign. Would really miss the Willie energy and clubhouse presence. That will be difficult to replace. However packaging Adames and one of our outfielders could bring in a big bat. Marte would look good at SS in Milwaukee. I'd still like to see them figure something out with the Orioles.
  2. Now is the time to trade him. Best value to be received as they move further into the youth transition. They need more pop in the bats in the infield. If they get more power they could then move Turang to SS. We can't have 3-4 players hitting in the low 200's like last year. More power in the infield opens up shortstop for Turang's superior defensive skills. Maybe he makes a second year jump with his offense. Bottom line is to trade Willie.
  3. I remember the days of collecting baseball cards and cheering for my favorite players. Saving up for the cards and reading over and over the stats on the back. Reading the Sporting News magazine. Cheering on teams with incredible players like Bob Gibson of the Cardinals and the 4 twenty game winners of the Orioles who also had gold glovers like Brooks Robinson, Paul Blair and Davey Johnson. Yaz hitting for the triple crown. Small town Pittsburgh Pirates winning the World Series. The Big Red Machine of Cincinnati. The Washington Senators and White Sox playing at County Stadium when there was no Milwaukee team. The Pilot's moving to Milwaukee. Jumping off the dugout onto County Stadium's field to celebrate the American League Chamionship in 82. My kids memories and their childrens will be choked off and overun by the greed of the present times. The addage of Ernie Banks "Lets play two!" has been replaced by money, money and more money. $750 million dollar contract to play ball. The Field of Dreams is becoming just that... a far away dream.
  4. Not feeling this at all. Aquiring another low OPS player with good defense confuses me. Hoping we don't go in this direction.
  5. I don't really consider Kimbrel a high end reliever any more. Lot of money to pay for someone so inconsistent and unreliable. Going to be tough to trade Williams there now since they signed Kimbrel. Still Williams is so much better. And has 2 years of control. Would have been a less expensive route to get Williams
  6. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2023/12/06/milwaukee-brewers-matt-arnold-laid-foundation-for-future-deals-during-baseball-winter-meetings/71823442007/ The house we need built requires big bats at first and third. Looks like this will require some patience. Encouraging that alot of the talks included trading Corbin Burnes. Lots of interest in this area. Where there is smoke a fire is nearby. However it may be awhile before we see the flames. Just really, really enjoying this new era of brewer baseball. So much to look forward to. The youth movement is so exciting. I am stoked. Now lets light thre fire! Your thoughts Fanatic Nation.......
  7. Good point Team Canada. Forgot about that no trade clause. Good to have some veteran presence on the team as well as good to see him swinging the bat well again last year. Our best batter by a mile for most of the team except fpr Cantreras. The other thing about Yellich is that he is a joy to watch running the bases. Guys may be faster but won't get there any quicker than him. Amazing going from first to third. Even better on the first to home when someone doubles him in. Just special
  8. https://reviewingthebrew.com/posts/brewers-rumors-crew-fielding-trade-offers-on-surplus-of-outfielders-per-mlb-insider Just wondering what your thoughts are on this article which deems Yellich untouchable. Could it be rather that he is untradable? He is a 32 yr old outfielder/DH and maybe firstbaseman who is signed thru 2028. The contract which escalates seems to paint a picture of untradable and not untouchable. Your thoughts
  9. welcome aboard PK. Enjoy being a fanatic :)
  10. Great article Tim Muma! "Playing the long game with Chuorio is a prime example of valuing and trusting your stats, scouts, and ability to mold players in your system. This must be done elsewhere with Brewers' decisions: identify the talent you believe in, do what it takes to secure them, and make your call, without fear of failure. Applying this strategy to trading Burnes means a different perspective on who to target. Focus on quality, not quantity, generally speaking. The key acquisition: One MLB-ready bat with an elite ceiling." Harken to these words and this philosophy my fellow fanatics. March forward and get that major league ready quality bat. Coby Mayo would indeed be an OUTSTANDING aquisition. Go ahead and make an offer they cannot refuse. Give up Burnes and one of their many outfielders. One Oriole in the hand is better than 2 in the bush. Go Large! Don't look back but push forward.
  11. We need to swing for a power third baseman. No more Montasterio platoons at the corner. I like Andru but not as our starting third baseman. If Adames is dealt and Turang slides to the hole we need a second baseman. Might be a second base platoon which includes Tyler Black. If they don't swing for a big bat at third then let the young ones play just like the Packer's did with their WR's.
  12. That indeed is good news. The Milwaukee Brewer's international scouting presence is really reaping benefits these days. Just another way for a small market team to stay in the game. Keep it up Brew Crew!
  13. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/baltimore-orioles I am thinking a Burnes and Delvin Williams package to the Orioles who are just oozing in good young players. Your thoughts? View full rumor

  15. I am all in on trading Burnes but hoping it will be someone other than the Braves who don't presently have a strong minor league system. Was hoping we could business with the Orioles. Lots to like in that organization.
  16. After reading the post of Closet Brewer Fan I did a little of research on 1b/3b Aaron Schrunk. Found this in an article in the Denver Gazette dated 8/5/23 by Luke Zahlmann "I let some of those external factors get to me," Schunk said. "It was my first full season and I wanted it so bad that I almost took myself out of it. During that year, I didn't know how to talk about struggling. At that time, I had never really struggled like that before." Dr. Douglas Chadwick was one of the first people Schunk found comfort with. He had to learn how to talk to someone, and he found solace in the Rockies Director of Mental Skills Development. He worked with the team's mental health specialists to build a routine that would help his mind heal and put him back on track to making the majors." So important to tend to your mental health and so glad it is now being discussed openly and honestly. Glad the stigmas surrounding it are diminishing. I find myself really pulling for Aaron to make it to the big leagues. Milwaukee's clubhouse might be a good place to get support and encouragement on this journey.
  17. Interesting thoughts but highly doubt Miley signs at 15-16 million. My guess is around 11 million but nothing more than a guess. I also think Burnes will be gone sometime this winter. I'm ok with that as we push our young player poker chips in.
  18. I am a big fan of Wade Miley. His pitching and his leadership will have a great impact this year on a very young Brewers squad. Gives the starting rotation more juice and the clubhouse more life and wisdom. Win Win for Miley and the Brew Crew. Glad to have the Master Brewer back!
  19. Cade Horton of the Cubs would be a wonderful addition. Play him at third on his off days. The Winter Meetings would be the time to move Burnes or gauge his trade value. Do not keep him until the July Trade deadline. Move him this winter. He is a really good pitcher but has never won more than 12 games in a season. Always pitches alot of innings but is he a big game pitcher? If Woodruff was healthy in last years playoffs I would have led off with him and not Burnes. Once again really good but not great. Really good is really good and you can never have too many really good pitchers.
  20. I would love to have Wade Miley back in Milwaukee. Great addition to the staff and clubhouse. Kind of like having a player coach. These young Brewers need a Master Brewer around. So much to learn from this dude.
