  1. Trading Hoskins for whatever I can get; lottery tix if necessary. Contreras, Kim, Haase, and Black can back up Walker (a slight overpay for Walker) at first but he's playing almost every day. Kim might miss some of the early season, but if Moncada doesn't work out he could play there. I'm expecting 500 PAs from Ortiz, Turnang, Kim, and Moncada. Traded Williams for prospects. Probably need another starter but there's some $$ available for that. C: William Contreras ($7.60M) 1B: Rhys Hoskins ($18.00M) 2B: Joey Ortiz ($0.80M) 3B: Empty ($0.00M) SS: Brice Turang ($0.80M) LF: Jackson Chourio ($4.25M) CF: Garrett Mitchell ($0.80M) RF: Sal Frelick ($0.80M) DH: Christian Yelich ($24.25M) 4th OF: Blake Perkins ($0.80M) Utility: Andrew Monasterio ($0.80M) Utility: Empty ($0.00M) Backup C: Eric Haase ($1.80M) NA: Add Dead Money Here ($0.00M) SP1: Freddy Peralta ($8.25M) SP2: Aaron Civale ($8.00M) SP3: Tobias Myers ($0.80M) SP4: Brandon Woodruff ($5.00M) SP5: Robert Gasser ($0.80M) RP: Devin Williams ($7.70M) RP: Trevor Megill ($2.00M) RP: Nick Mears ($0.90M) RP: Jared Koenig ($0.80M) RP: Hoby Milner ($2.70M) RP: Joel Payamps ($2.80M) RP: J.B. Bukauskas ($0.80M) RP: Aaron Ashby ($3.45M) NA: Add Dead Money Here ($0.00M) Payroll is 19.46% under budget

  3. (thanks for the alert, wiguy) Another thing I've noticed is that his last few starts haven't featured as much "up in the zone" stuff as when he first came over. I don't know if that is a byproduct of Jack's change or a different strategy, but it seems to be helping.
  4. Shaw and Moose played second...how hard could it be? Don't know what you'd do with Turang, though...
  5. Include Haase in a deal for a pitcher...bullpen or starter.
  6. Debbie Downer here. I just don't understand why a major league team must have one reliever on the team that is awful and is there to pitch when you are hopelessly behind and occasionally come in with a seemingly insurmountable lead, making the game feel like "Jaws".
  7. Murph does love to tinker with his line-ups...but it's all built around William at 2 and Yeli at 3. It sure feels like the additions at firstbase are about the only thing holding back the team from scoring 10 runs a game. Perhaps they'll join the parade...or somebody else will. The Kids Are All Right.
  8. Well, Black would almost assuredly be better than Hoskins defensively, and most likely better than Bauers at the plate. Probably next year unless someone gets hurt or really stinks.
  9. Sawed him off. Hardly qualified as a pop up.
  10. Either you trust your umpires' judgement or you don't. When a pitcher intentionally throws at a batter's head it is potentially fatal. I like the ejection and a base...and suspension later. Especially when what the player thrown at did nothing deemed against the rules, and had done it the day before. A reliever missing one day (once the penalty is reduced) or a manager missing a game (yawn) are not penalties at all.
  11. I'll be interested to see the ump scorecard from this game.
  12. Doesn't help that Wilson looked bad today.
