  1. I guess I'd do that deal in a heartbeat. You're getting a great bullpen arm for the next year and a third, and you could very well be getting Type A draft compensation when it's all said and done.
  2. Maybe Maddux truly feels that he has Mota's mechanical flaw worked out. All of his pitches were down last night, so that's a start, I guess.
  3. 6th best prospect in the D-Backs organization ... Yeah, seems like a very good deal for Arizona. There must be something about Benifacio that the Nats really like.
  4. 6.63 away ERA for Wolf this year. Yowza. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/ffb25194ed9a3dad459134f50adacbef713b822.jpg
  5. The only way I see this making sense is if he's a Type A free agent, so they get the picks ... However, I don't think pitching at Minute Maid is going to improve that status.
  6. Seems like this would just be insurance if a corner OF went down. Meh, whatever. I do like the fact that he wrote a letter apologizing to the other 29 teams.
  7. Wish I could help, but my MS-Access programming skills haven't been used since like 2000....
  8. commercials with alarm clock noises are THE WORST.
  9. 1. EXPLOSIVE DIARRHEA 2. REGULAR CHAPSTICK 3. VANILLA LAMPSHADE
  10. There's more to it than that...at least from what I've read. Anyway, I love In N' Out. Burgerville looks really good too. Big-time props to In N' Out and Zaxby's as well. Although regarding the Chick-Fil-A guy (S Truett Cathy), I really don't see anything that would qualify him as a "nut", unless it's a general statement against those align their business beliefs closely with their religious beliefs. Joe Hova, could you please explain?
  11. I guess I never got what the big deal was about Blanton. I think he's a back-end of the rotation pitcher on a good team, or a middle of the rotation starter on a mediocre team. At least his G/F ratio's OK, so I don't think he'll be as bad in Philly as some might think. As an A's fan, I like the deal very much.
  12. Any interest in getting a dog? Even a small dog, because of the noise, is enough to deter someone trying to break-in.
  13. It doesn't seem like running a sod farm would be all that difficult.

  15. We had a situation where a user generously gave away tickets via random giveaway to another BFnetter (tomter38), and those tickets got sold on eBay, for over face value no less. The user who sold the tickets on eBay as a result has been banned on this site. The back story is that the person requested that the tickets be dropped off at his place because he claimed he was going to be running late, and couldn't meet the person who gave the tickets away. 14 minutes after that person dropped off the tickets, they went on sale on eBay. The face value of the pair of tickets was $72.00. The selling cost on eBay was $102.00. Not cool. Not cool at all. One of the things I've enjoyed about the site is how helpful users tend to be towards each other. I feel that in this case there was a major breach of trust, and I will do everything in my power to combat that kind of thing. It's you, the users, who have made this site what it is, and I feel that mutual respect is what helps set us apart from other websites.
  16. I would have asked for a signed Jersey instead of the tickets... but I think the compensation you got was decent enough.
  17. I live just a few blocks from Carroll. I didn't attend classes there or anything, but it's a very decent neighborhood. There aren't ever any drunk kids passed out on my lawn.
  18. Fable 2 is number one on my (and the wife's) list.
  19. nicely done ... the Braun one was terrific.
  20. Wow, that sucks. I really liked David Wilder when he was with the Brewers... People making healthy money taking money illegally from kids in a country with 30% below the poverty line. Pathetic.
  21. Credit to the Reds for capitalizing on EVERY mistake the Brewers made. Even though the ump seemed to want to get out of there quickly, the Brewers deserved to lose this one. Let's go get the next two.
  22. YES! - dead dog: boxey (battlestar galactica) - dead horse: artax (the neverending story) - harry potter: as harry potter (troll)
  23. 3-0 cubs ... Ramirez went deep.
  24. Wow, this one's going nowhere fast... I'll admit that there's a sea of possibilities of who this could be.
