  1. NIL now means they will get money either way. :-(
  2. Agreed we don't. But some of these kids are exciting - and that is cool too.
  3. Ha! He actually looks more Magill-ish to me. If he can throw strikes, that will indeed give a high floor.
  4. Loved this pick. Would think they had to have discussed money enough to draft him and keep that pick. Would he get $1.5MM in 3 years of NIL money from college?
  5. So Ebel is projecting like a "more hit tool focused, less power heavy, more likely to play 3B" version of Bitonti?
  6. Crew holding a Matthew Fisher connection ala Cooper Pratt in 23? Ginger work with him with a second round number to wait for the Crew in the 5th round or so? Feels as if there could be that type of connection/ deal ...
  7. Fischer should be under, no? As a position player, he isn't going back to college to maybe be drafted higher as a 22yo.
  8. It is interesting, in that it seems the trust level in the front office is really high right now. They have been making a lot of moves and - with certainly needing time yet on a number of them - most (90% even???) seem to be working out positively. Thus maybe further trust in how they value the players value is the right move.
  9. Really would be kinda nice to send Ortiz down to reset. Cooper Pratt, a month ago, seemed to getting hot, where maybe by now he would be in Nashville, but that hasn't worked out - so he is more than a year away. The move to make would be Turang to short, no? Just tough in midseason, although with the All Star break here, maybe this is when you would. Durbin's O has been fine of late, but would sure prefer his arm at 2B than 3B ... Something short term, for a package of the 16th best starter in the system and the 8th best shortstop, or something, is the type of thing I would like.
  10. Yeah, I still fail to understand why Pat doesn't run these guy more. Durbin, a great example.
  11. Or another long leverage reliever?
  12. Cool comparison! Interesting that almost no one (Olson & Ashby? ) from the '21 group is around only 4 years later. But, as you note, few were considered "prospects".
  13. No love for Jaden Fauske? He seems like a Crew type pick, although possibly, with the LSU commit, may be an overslot guy in the 2nd round. Would guess Ginger has been working on him as a ILL high schooler.
  14. Wondering if Pena or Adamczewski will be in "best OF in the system" conversation in a year?
  15. Would seem that how Cornielle & Crow have broken out this year, at AA, which isn't a nothing level to break out in, they would be the most likely for 40 man spots, no? Who would they be jumping ahead of for those spots? One other issue is how the Crew uses Nashville for their potential pitching depth, thus possibly pinning someone such as Cornielle in Biloxi, opposed to showing some innings at the higher level. Tough to balance the development and the current depth . Excited to see how Siegler is in the majors! The next 8 weeks may provide different answers than now.
  16. I still have fear that Hudson won't have been bargain basement. We need 5 years to see if Chambers develops.
  17. When needed, he has seemed to be able to settle down and throw a strike. One would think command is his biggest weakness, so the question will be whether patient hitters or Miz showing the needed focus will be the winners.
