  1. Mitchell's same shoulder? Not remembering if it was his throwing side before.
  2. Great stuff, as ever, Spencer. Thank you! Crew has a ton of good looking young pitching in the lower part of the system. It is so cool ....
  3. Funny, that was my first thought last night when he had to go the third time through the order .... this may decide if his next start will be in Nashville or with the Crew. Of course, his fastballs may play up nicely if working out of the pen, and he is stretched out.
  4. Man, Dinges! How often does a guy pop onto this list as high as #9?
  5. Well he may not get too many whiffs on that fastball, but a.) no one is contacting it well, and b.) it sure sets his other stuff up. If he throws enough strikes, every 5th (or so) outing could be fun.
  6. Thought they were skipping Quintana, and trying to keep Miz and Freddy pretty much on schedule. So Miz would be today, Freddy tomorrow.
  7. Jesus Made Left side of the infield player who should be in the majors as early as 2028. Very good batting eye with electric bat will grow into even more power.Luis Pena Left side of the infield player with great hit tool. Could be in the majors as early as 2028. Jacob Misiorowski Floor of a bullpen ace. Still a shot as a starter. If Chris Hook can get him to throw more strikes, ceiling is a #2 starter.Cooper Pratt Floor is a 5-10 year defensive ace at short, good enough to keep Pena & Made off of short. If he can get to some in-game power, may be a multiple time All Star.Marco Dinges Electric bat with some power. If he can catch, will be an All Star.Josh Adamczewski Best current hitter in the system. Hit tool. Current doubles plus power. Good eye. If his back is fine, will be in LF in Milwaukee by 2028 or 9.Luke Adams This year has shown some of what his ceiling can be. If he lets himself be more aggressive in the zone, trusting his swing decisions, first base can be his for years.Logan Henderson Floor as a 4th starter. Will be in the rotation in 2026. Hopefully can keep his fastball high revving enough to limit homers.Jeferson Quero Hard to judge right now. Defensively, he is super rusty after the year out. Gotta think of this as a reset year.Braylon Payne Super young. Super inexperienced. Tremendous tools - at least a 4 tool player who we will see if he can hit enough. Loses some gloss playing daily with Pena & Made. If there was still the short season leagues, he would be ideal.Brock Wilken Seems he can stay at 3B. Will supply power and walks, but the Ks will limit his hit tool enough that once Made & Pena come through the system, he will be in the 1B group, and may not be able to play ahead of the younger Adams. Craig Yoho Has some ability to get whiffs in the majors. Needs to also throw in-zone strikes. His time in the majors will completely rely on that. Could be a key pen member soon, if he can figure that out.Carlos F Rodriguez How hurt is he? Looks that he could be a 4th starter in 2026, but if hurt, that throws that out the window.Luis Lara Has shown some of what his ceiling could be this year. Speed. Excellent D. Some hit with some pop. Needs to climb another level and show more.Bryce Meccage Looks great so far. Good ceiling. Floor depends on the need to get through the next couple of years without getting hurt. About exactly the same as Letson or Manuel Rodriguez or Knoth.Alexander Cornielle Has shown very well at his highest level this year. When the glut of starting pitching ahead of him clears out, he will be in Nashville, and then we will know a lot. Does not seem to have a high ceiling, but a solid floor as a 4th starter (along with 5-6 other guys in the system) is in play.Coleman Crow Has shown very well at his highest level this year. When the glut of starting pitching ahead of him clears out, he will be in Nashville, and then we will know a lot. Does not seem to have a high ceiling, but a solid floor as a 4th starter (along with 5-6 other guys in the system) is in play.Eric Bitonti More real power than likely anyone in the system. Has work to do as he has so much swing and miss. Already at 1B only, so if he is to make the majors, will have to figure that out.Bishop Letson How hurt is he? Looked good through last season, and even better at the beginning of this season. Cannot be determined until he comes back. Maybe not different for Meccage or Knoth or Manuel Rodriguez either; their health will be the key.Mike Boeve Still recovering from injury. This may be a reset year, or he has hit a peak in AA. 2026 will tell all. His swing & miss is quite higher than ever, and his walks/hits are down. Plus in the 1B/DH mix behind Adams & Wilken. Thanks for letting me pontificate/vent/speculate. It was fun! Could have thoughts for a top 30. :-)
  8. Thanks Matthew! Just a shame Pat let him face the top of that order the 3rd time last night. He may be working toward handling that, as you are saying, with different pitch usage, but he really needs that working first to handle a tougher O lineup such as the Cubs.
  9. Regarding Quero only ....... just need to be patient and give him the year, then re-evaluate in the spring - no? Tons of adjustments, and we will see a year out where he is at. Thanks Spencer, love these notes and focus!
  10. 3 (and a half, with the doubles??) true outcome guy.
  11. Just wanted to throw out a bit of surprise of Peralta being termed a short term rental. Am fairly sure he is club controlled for a couple of more years.
  12. My brother is a Cubs fan (he spent too much of his adult life in Illinois jobs), and I always want to ask him the perspective of Contreras when he is on your team. He just seems to be a "push every edge, and past that" always to me .... as he has been on our 2 biggest rivals.
  13. He is just too similar to Turang & Frelick, with Ortiz and Durbin being lower versions of the same. Not enough pop from any of them, most nights. Killer for the overall lineup.
  14. And yet, in 5 years, I am thinking I would put my money on Adams for the best career. Big time TBD on this one.
  15. Not going to be Boeve. He has no position right now, DH only since his surgery, and he is still getting back to game shape. Not going to be Adams right after they got Vaughn in the Civale deal, and already have Ernesto playing 1B and hitting cleanup most days. Would think Wilken. And did once he started hitting homers in May. 3B is a weak spot above him, and he seems he can play it well enough.
  16. I would have thought the Crew would have had Black play in the OF in Nashville for a solid stretch - 40 games or something - to get a good read on his potential value there. That didn't happen last year as they were juggling other 40 man roster players (or potential ones) such as Roller and Hicklen while they were worried about the depth in the majors. In most ways that makes me think there is something which the Crew is seeing that we do not. Thus I expect they will move on from him by the end of 2025. Unfortunately, as it seemed there was potential for <something> out of Black but the fit didn't work exactly here in Milwaukee.
  17. Gotta be a top 5-6 non pitching prospect in the system now, no?
  18. They can use the OF depth. Collins works, but is awfully similar to Durbin/Turang/Ortiz as a hitter. Plus then Chourio isn't responsible for CF fulltime.
  19. He was sent back down to figure out how to throw more strikes. Ugh ... this ain't it.
  20. Wow, understood. Can't get by only scouting the stat line ...... :-)
  21. Wow. Came into the game with 23bb in 28i. 17er allowed. Good K numbers.
