  1. Never would have thought this a week ago, but....there are Brewers fans that want CC gone. His 1-9 recent playoff record adds fuel to the fire. Playing Winker doesn't help. I like him and hope he stays, but he might be thinking about leaving now instead of being told to leave in a couple years if or when the team turns south in the standings. No Burnes and Woodruff could do that. Cool he is from Milwaukee and has done outstanding here, but it would not feel great for him to be told to go. It might be why he is thinking of leaving now to spend time with the family or grab the bag somewhere else. Plus, if he leaves now, Milwaukee would gladly welcome him back almost any time that the Brewers are looking for a future manager hire. The bridge would not be burned here.
  2. If this helps.... it helped me. Giamatti... https://mason.gmu.edu/~rmatz/giamatti.html
  3. Me too… I’m glad all those guys were picked up to some degree. Still, I cannot believe there wasn’t a place for Hiura at DH at several points this season like there was for Winker and the other 20 plus guys who played the position this season.
  4. Winker was PH for us in the playoffs same day Hiura was freed. That is the backward way of Hiura and Winker 2023. A total and complete waste… mismanagement at its utter low amidst a generally very good year.
  5. If you are arguing against the possibility of the team leaving, look no further than the fact that you are a Brewers fan and not a Milwaukee Braves fan. Abandonment and Relocation has happened RIGHT HERE before and it could again. Of course it could happen without receiving any govt money. Attanasio is out the door... or he would pass it on to his kids and they would turn the book to its next chapter in Nashville. Did the team use some scare tactics, parading the commissioner in and having front page sports stories in the Journal on how the team could be looking to leave? Yep. And it worked. But we are working between a rock and a hard place here. Pay up or risk the team moving. I say selfishly pay up and keep them here for another full generation, even longer than first reported. Also, the $600 million is a really big number long term, but breaking it down per year looks more reasonable or even expected, compared to building a brand new retractable stadium.
  6. Great for Brewers fans! Totally against rich owners getting richer and letting little guy pay and all, but Brewers leaving would be way worse for me selfishly…summer nights, trips to the game with family and friends. Really can’t be replaced in same way. No idea what I would do. Thinking little guy could win World Series, even maybe this year… surreal to be alive and a part of it. Brewers in Six!
  7. Rise and Fall? So unfair. More like he had one of the team’s best OPS/ OPS+ in 2022 and inexcusably gets no opportunity in 2023 while having better numbers than anyone in the organization. Fall? More like suppressed down, kept down, and squashed. Yet let’s pay him $2.2 million to play at AAA. And the DH position? Worst in baseball.
  8. Low bar…great year….and they paid him… and DH in NL… stubborn….mismanagement of DH position….move on… win division…positive vibes.
  9. My expectation is that little power is coming out of the 4 spot when we should have a guy or two on base.
  10. If I am Frelick and am thrown into the fire… first place team hitting cleanup…I would be conflicted. Does CC EXPECT that I hit for some power? If I don’t, am I heading back to Nashville? Why oh why is he hitting in a spot he never has in his life (according to him)? Hit him one or two with an emphasis on just getting on base. Table setter. Sorry Yelich, it’s time to put the big boy pants on and hit 3rd. My RHP lineup….with an emphasis on offense, get a lead, give it to the pen, and make defensive replacements late in RF and 3B. Frelick CF Monasterio 2B Yelich LF Contreras C Santana 1B Canha RF Black 3B Hiura DH Adames SS
  11. And if we are indeed trading Burnes and more, I’m very ok with getting a couple top prospects (if possible) for Yelich. We have OF prospects and options galore for the next several years.
  12. Trading Yelich for prospects and playing Chourio in LF could basically pay for 6 or 7 years of AmFam’s renovations! I know we don’t want to look at it this way, but my guess is another 150 million that the Brewers would contribute to the ballpark would matter a lot to the state, county, and city.
  13. Uribe and Elvis could pitch in that 5th/6th inning closer role that Jeffress used to hold. I am not for a 7th inning guy when matchups could mean a lefty is needed.
  14. Really great owner….. yet, he has been very quiet while, I don’t know, articles of the franchise possibly looking to relocate have been written! So good reason to freak out a bit with him being mum on the topic since March/April.
  15. Pretty pleased with our MLB roster. I would of course have Hiura up too and one of four or five down, but I digress… also, tough not to be pleased with more quality arms at AAA.
  16. AAA to start 2024 and if he excels a call up to MLB late 2024 season. It’s why he was pushed in the first place. He’s on the track now. Preaching patience with his development doesn’t make sense now when he is at AA at 19.
  17. For this year, we all better be concerned about his bat. His glove has been way more than advertised, thankfully, and that is what is saving him. I hope we get Urias right and have some sort of time share there.
  18. Not for any significant trades when Rowdy/Hiura/Black could seemingly fill those spots.
  19. Telling him he is not getting traded… great move.
  20. Just crazy…. No way for numerous reasons and I will save everyone time without listing them since you all know them.
  21. Put him on the Burnes/Woodruff plan. We need to take shots when we have shots. We have a shot this year and he could be 6th/ 7th inning guy. Development for elite arms like him could be challenging him in relief at MLB level rather than racking up more inning late in a AA season.
  22. Call up in September, yes.
  23. Yount didn’t hit either…the first three seasons were really meh.
