  1. I have more of a problem with Anderson than I do Schroeder. Anderson seems to be more of a semi-uneducated fan than anything else. He does root for the Brewers, which is fine. But, sometimes he makes statements that 90 % of us BF.netters could easily correct. Schroeder is excellent. He knows the game very well, doesn't toot his own horn, and seems to understand that Ned Yost isn't the brightest manager in the MLB. When he disagrees with Ned, you know it. He doesn't make it a point to shove that in our faces either. I used to love Uecker. He was great. But these days you can go ten minutes and he won't give you a count or the score. He misses numerous pitches telling stories. Ueck is much better in a 10-0 game than a 3-2 game. Powell is definatly the better of the two these days.
  2. I won the fan argument. Teri hated the idea of having that "noise" going on when we went to bed. But, I insisted. Now she and I can't sleep without it.
  3. Everybody thinks that Gamel is the heir apparent to Prince, because Mat's defense at third is not good. I say Mat will be an outfielder with Hart replacing Prince at first. Corey was drafted as a first baseman, and is 6'6". I say offer CC 6 years and 130mil. Let Sheets walk. The odds of 2 injury free seasons in a row are slim. Gallardo slides into the #2 slot easily. CC Yo Manny Suppan Bush
  4. My snoring is directly affected by the amount of alcohol I consume in an evening. The more I drink, the better chance I just decide to crash on the couch. Teri and I have had conversations about my snoring, so I have zero problem going to the couch. Plus, the couch is in the pitch dark, cool basement. I usually don't have any problem going to the couch, even though we have a spare bed in the computer room upstairs. I'd say I sleep on the couch once a week. Maybe twice.
  5. Janesville is blessed with three great courses right in town. 1. Janesville Country Club- Very well kept, as it should be. Monday is the day employees can take a foursome out for free. Know a couple of guys that work there. Greens are incredibly fast. 2. Riverside Municipal- One of the best kept secrets of South Central Wisconsin. This is where I play my Thursday 9 hole golf league. Lots of very beautiful holes. 3. Glen Erin Golf Club- About 5 years old, cut right into the woods by the Rock County airport. Very, Very nice for a new course. Lots of trees, so bring extra golf balls. I recommend any of the three. Both Riverside and Glen Erin are less than 50 bucks (with a cart).
  6. Trade Hardy for Cain. Yo Parra Cain Bush Suppan Pretty impressed with both Suppan and Bush this year.
  7. Norm Peterson- Cheers Newman- Seinfeld Quagmire, Peter, and Brian from Family Guy Red Foreman- That 70's Show Kelso- That 70's Show Charlie Harper- 2 and a half men Les Nesman- WKRP Carla Tortelli- Cheers Coach- Cheers Louis DePalma- Taxi Mr Karlan- Bob Newhart Kevin- The Office
  8. I like when he disagrees with Ned. He always says, "Ah, what the heck." Or "Why not?" when Ned goes against regular thinking. This usually happens once a night.
  9. Think Berkman will see a strike tonight? He has a lefty hitting behind him. CC is -300 tonight with a 7.5 O/U. Both of those numbers are ridiculous. Prediction: Brewers win 6-1.
  10. Thought I saw JJ at the very beginning of the video.
  11. My pet peeve. I think most people here are familiar with me. I own a bar. Before I bought it, I bartended full time and did very well. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday most weeks. I would average $40- $50 on Monday and Tuesday. Around $100 on the other nights. So, I got about $400 per week in tips. Great money for somebody in their early twenties, but missed lots of parties, weddings, etc. Now that I own the place, all tips are about 1/2 of that. I seldom work nights, but I always hear from people, "You don't have to tip the owner". That rule seems strange to me. Anybody abide by this rule?
  12. Janesville Craig for me. The Cougars. Blue and White. Too computer illiterate to post a logo. Congressman Paul Ryan was my gym leader my sophomore year. Russ Feingold Senator Tim Cullen Travis Kvapil is from Janesville too. Not sure what high school. Not a whole lot of letters are passed out for racing.
  13. Tubthumping. Might as well lock the thread.
  14. I don't normally think about stuff like this. But, it shocked me when I was watching that replay tonight.
  15. I had money on the Brewers those nights. We were in Vegas for a friends wedding. Ouch. Thanks for the reminder.
  16. They are showing a rebroadcast of opening day of '07 versus LA. Prince looks 50 pounds lighter there than he does now. Anybody watching that? An easy 50 pounds.
  17. Good topic. Reminds me of the Cheers when Cliff was on Jeopardy. 1. Baseball 2. Potent Potables 3. US States 4. The Rat Pack 5. Classic Country Music 6. Las Vegas
  18. I really think that 100% of Cub fans at any NLCS game in Milwaukee would have to buy scalped tickets. When playoff tickets go on sale, I couldn't imagine a Cubs fan buying tickets in Milwaukee, on the chance that the Cubs will play here. They may be the best two teams, but if your a Cub fan, why wouldn't you guarantee seeing your own team? If it were the first round, I could see it. But I believe all playoff tickets go on sale at the same time. Correct me if I'm wrong. If Brewer fans sell playoff tickets to Cub fans, they are scalpers, not Brewer fans.
  19. 1. Alyssa Milano 2. Cameron Diaz 3. Jessica Alba 4. Jennifer Love Hewitt 5. Erin Andrews Don't know why I would have those in order, would never be in the predicament of choosing one or the other.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. Sure Rickie's more talented. Without a doubt. But does he give us the best chance to win? No. We're here to win games, not feel sorry for guys who give 100% and end up on the bench. A patient left handed stick is exactly what Arroyo doesn't want to see. And ours (Durham) is on the bench.
  21. I just can't figure Ned out. How many times will we see Rickie swing and miss at Arroyo's slow curve? If any hitter on the 25 man roster should be sitting tonight, it's Rickie Weeks. Durham is a patient, left handed hitter. Exactly what we need tonight. The Counsell thing perplexes me. Sure, his defense is decent. But, didn't Hall bash Arroyo this year? I remember Hall hitting a slow curve into orbit in Cincinnati this year. Cmon Manny, shut em down. Our lineup stinks again tonight. Also, I believe Ned was using BF.net to get his lineups from Woogie's IGT. Ned's lineups have stunk lately.
  22. 25 and single is about perfect. I settled down at 28, now I'm 35. No reason to settle down before you do some traveling. Speaking as a man with a three year old daughter, go to the cities you want to see before you have kids. Traveling with them is 10x harder. Go have fun. Worry about being alone when your 70.
  23. And, during the pregame show, said it would be nice to win, but it isn't a must win. Huh? No way do you want to lose back to back home series. Especially to the team your trailing. Plus, no need to go get a starter before he starts getting shelled. Tonight made it 3 straight nights.
  24. Anybody notice that Ned has been at least two hitters late in pulling each of our starters this series? Not sure if he is overconfident in our starters, or if he just has no idea. Thoughts?
  25. How many consecutive fastballs did Sheets throw in the sixth. I would guess around 12. He got stubborn and paid for it.
