  1. Yes but if you get laid off you will have unemployment to help you. Personally, I could live off of unemployment for quite some time if I had to. I have $3000 on backup and I have a relatively secure job. (only nervous one time of the year)
  2. It's easier to say he "made a play" than "he got off the ball, beat the block, flattened down the line in pursuit, and made a sure tackle for a loss." While football is simple on the surface, on offense you block and defense you tackle, there's more to it than that when describing the action. Sometimes I'll say "nice hit" or "great catch", it just depends on the complexity of the play. Sometimes I say it for a great defensive play in baseball too, that play Escobar made going to his right where he smoothly got the ball off in one step to get the out at first had us talking about "the play" for a couple of days. It was the most fantastic non diving play I've seen in a long time. I realize it is easier to say that but they could at least come up with something that actually makes sense.
  3. I never understood why they call doing something well in football "making a play".
  4. Dislocating my knee cap in a really gross way right before school starts. (I'm a teacher) It's interesting to try and use crutches however.
  5. You made a BIG mistake pal. Bob Uecker loves this stuff!
  6. I woke up in the middle of night and screamed "Silver Spring Beer 'n Brat Mustard!". This is starting to take over my life.
  7. Do the Phils have anything we would want for Hoffman?
  8. I am trying to come up with a list of cheap meals. So far I have: . Grilled Cheese, Toast, Rice, Spaghetti, Tuna, Hot dogs, Boneless Chicken, Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches, Mac n Cheese, and Ramen. What else is there? I am thinking of trying a $100 or less month to see if I can do it.
  9. That is a great idea. I can not believe I spend 3x as much as some of you by myself. I know my problem is that I eat out way too much.
  10. Teach me your ways! I spend MUCH more than that a month.
  11. All the analysts I talk to expect the market to get to 11,000. I am glad I picked "safer" stocks so I could learn the ropes, even though I have missed out on higher returns.
  12. You don't like a move the Bucks made? I'm shocked.
  13. Watching the Greg Giraldo special last night reminded me of what I was going to type here. I get annoyed at people who put "lol" all the time. It's stupid especially when it is not even anything that is remotely amusing!
  14. Oh no, a toxic clubhouse! They will never win that way.
  15. To where and for who?
  16. I got in a couple of different companies. So far they are doing well so I am happy.
  17. Was I the only one who said "Todd Day, """darn""?"
  18. The solution seems pretty simple. The Brewers should trade Hart and Hardy for pitching. Then they can put Gamel in Right Field and McGehee at 3rd.
  19. I just wanted to say hi since it's the popular thing to do in this thread.... I like the move however.
  20. I enjoy irony. I do not enjoy watching Claudio Vargas however.
  21. Why do we want Cole back?
  22. How does this trade compare to what the A's gave up to the Rockies to get Holliday?
