  1. The Brewers have LOTS of trade candidates that have value so I plan on them making a trade for a starter or a starting position player this off season. Players like Frelick and Black are decent players but would fit better on another team. Those are the guys to look to move. If the top top is 120 million, that is very workable. The team could and should move Payamps and save another 4 million as well. My list of what the team needs in priority order: 1. First Base 2. Third Base 3. Controllable Starting Pitcher
  2. He's a future outfielder, likely on a different team
  3. A guy that has drawn a lot of interest and is definitely on the market, Jesus Luzardo. He does not cost a ton and you would have two years of control on him. I believe we could use another starter for this season and definitely for next season. Brewers: Luzardo (21.9 BTV) Marlins: Frelick (21.4 BTV) and Uribe (7.4 BTV)
  4. Any interest in Casey Schmitt from the Giants? Here's another guy that's pretty much blocked now that the Giants signed Willy and Chapman long term. He has a lot of team control and is cheap. He was a former shortstop which we kinda like moving those guys to third base. He was bad in limited at bats in 2023 but was much better in even more limited at bats in 2024. Brewers: Schmitt (3.4 BTV) Giants: Peguero (5.9 BTV) Schmitt hits LHP well and Durbin hits RHP well so it's setup for a "soft" platoon at 3B.
  5. Any interest in Willi Castro from the Twins? The Twins have excess infielders and Castro is projected to make about 6 million. He only has team control for one year so shouldn't be very hard to trade for. In 2023, Castro was a 2.7 WAR player and he was 1.6 last year. He played all over for the Twins last year. He wouldn't be super exciting but he is one of quite a few options for 3B. Brewers: Castro (8.7 BTV) Twins: Lara (8 BTV)
  6. Durbin is not worth moving Turang off of 2nd base. B. Lowe from the Rays? Maybe.
  7. Bingo. You go and get another guy assuming there will be injuries, especially when you are relying on a couple of injury prone guys.
  8. Brewers: Yandy Diaz (23.3 BTV) Rays: Frelick (21.4 BTV) and Adams (3.4 BTV)
  9. Willy gave us 32 home runs. I would think a Dunn/Durbin pairing would get us 10 at most.
  10. Sure, Hoskins doesn't have a great contract but it's pretty much one year so in no way should we be sending money and/or prospects to get rid of it. I expect a bounce back season from him and we really need his power in the lineup. If Rosenthal is correct and our plan is Dunn/Durbin at 3rd (sigh), then we still need to find power somewhere else that can be in the lineup. Another thing would be trading Payamps as we could be fine without him.
  11. Interesting that Cubs fans are saying they are the clear division favorites now.
  12. Another thing on Durbin is he likely greatly benefited from ABS strike zone system. We all saw how often Sal gets screwed from human umps.
  13. Have to assume this means Bregman isn't going back to Houston.
  14. I think Abner is immature and shows some signs of a guy on PEDs if I'm being honest. I would put him on the OD roster just to get that suspension out of the way. I would also not be opposed to dealing him if we can help out the big league roster.
  15. I don't think it should be assumed that Durbin will be a starter on this team, at least yet. I think we need to sign/trade for one of Goldschmidt, Alonso or N. Lowe to play first base. Then we need either Rojas or Moncada or a trade for 3rd. We need to address the power problem in the lineup for sure.
  16. Peralta: 45.7 Mayo: 47.5 Not saying either side would do it.
  17. My initial thoughts are this isn't too exciting. Cortes is okay but I would have preferred someone with more control and/or cheaper. This isn't saving any payroll. Any reports on Durbins defense? If he is a plus defender, this makes more sense.
  18. Arraez only hits for average and offers nothing more. I wouldn't take his contract for a lottery ticket honestly.
  19. I'm just happy that the team recognizes that Hoskins should be mostly a DH. I would take either Alonso or Goldschmidt
  20. Arraez has got to be the most overrated player in baseball. No thanks
