    Same guy also mentioned Merrill might make the big league team. Frelick and Turang for Merrill matches up pretty closely on BTV... I could see a match here honestly.

    I was the biggest advocate to signing Soler on this board so I won't disagree. I understand the reasoning to signing another vet pitcher and a guy that can be your backup catcher (and a much better one than Haase and Nola) and DH against LHP. I am guessing the plan would be to have Yelich be the DH as soon as 2025 and then Soler has nowhere to play as he is pretty much a DH only at this point.

    Assuming the Brewers could have signed him to that same contract, you pretty much had the option of Soler for 3 years at that money or Junis and Sanchez on one year contracts. The MO of the team seems to be to stick to short contracts that can't hurt you a ton.

    I remember Rickie Weeks getting a lot of crap for not being willing to switch positions during the season in a contract year. What Hader did is more of a "me" move than that one.

    If MA was willing to spend 40 million on Snell, I could think of much better uses of that money.

    If he would get up to 85, he would be fine. That is a long ways to go from the 60 he was in 2023.

    I'd be surprised if Turang makes the Opening Day roster much less is a starter. He needs to hit.

    I'm assuming Sanchez will catch 1-2 times a week and DH 2-3 times a week. I hope that Haase and Bauers are not on the team regardless.

    Not always (see Justin Turner). Martinez is a vet that has played for big market teams and has made a lot of money in his career. It seems quite plausible that he will be picky where he plays in 2024.

    I am okay with this, I would have preferred Soler but Sanchez can be the backup catcher and DH. It is interesting that the payroll went down 15.6 mil after trading Burnes and then almost immediately gets spent. I hope the payroll isn't that strict. I also assume we are done adding now.

    Let's just ignore the fact that you can't trade a Competitive Balance pick more than once and examine your trade idea. According to BTV, it has Henderson at 104.1 and the package we would be sending the O's at 41.90. To put that in perspective, you would need to nearly add an Ozzie Albies' worth of value to make this fair.
