  1. He grades out as about average in left, IIRC. Above-average is a bit generous.
  2. Yeah, regardless of how one may feel about Gute with the Rodgers nonsense, he took a declining roster over and made it ultra-deep in just a couple of offseasons.
  3. It pleases me to no end that [sarcasm]such a standup guy[/sarcasm] like Contreras is basically left in an empty clubhouse at this point. So ends the clearly over career of Arrieta. Quite a fantastic story based on his late arrival as such a dominant pitcher, and certainly a key contributor to the Cubs' mid-decade success. But based on what I've seen from him in his starts against Milwaukee, toast.
  4. Source? I too would like to see a source backing that up, as I am also skeptical of that claim. The Packers as one of the few publicly-available financial disclosing sports franchises have consistently noted that their absurd level of merchandise sales is one of the major contributors to their operating income each year. Granted, the Brewers aren't the Packers when it comes to fanbase overall, but I have a hard time believing that merchandizing accounts for 'so little' of their revenue.
  5. The Reds and their fans have to be exasperated right now. They've played pretty good baseball since the Milwaukee series, and they've literally lost ground in the race despite our well-known issues with the bullpen and COVID. This team is ultra-resilient and matching them blow for blow.
  6. Interesting read, and certainly unsurprising that the Brewers at least considered those as options. To your point, we may never know whether the Cubs liked the White Sox offer better, or whether they just wouldn't deal with us.
  7. Willing to extend a worth player for anything up through his 31st birthday. Other than maybe a team option year, nothing beyond that until the contract is about to expire, then a case-by-case basis.
  8. Would be tempted to go Lindblom tonight against Arrieta and save Burnes for Hemdricks tomorrow. This is what I would do as well. Lindblom makes more sense vs. a basically AAAA Cubs' lineup where he MAY only be able to go 1-2x through due to the weather than potentially wasting Burnes.
  9. We've generally tipped on carry-out orders the same as if we'd have been in the restaurant during the pandemic. Though it's obviously a personal preference. Servers/restaurants got hit very hard during the pandemic and haven't fully recovered, so I feel it is a good thing to do. But, certainly not something that should be 'expected' by a person giving you the food.
  10. I'd have to go back and confirm, but I'm pretty sure that two of his outings were negatively impacted by poorly timed errors that allowed runs to score. Considering that they used him probably too much in such a short period of time, I think it's reasonable (assuming of course he's able to pitch and this injury is minor) to think he may do better under more normal usage situations.
  11. Yep, basically the third straight days of 5-8pm storms up here in Wisconsin as well. Seems likely there'll be a delay of some sort if that's the forecast south as well.
  12. Might be a bit of a hard sell since the Brewers have basically thrown him what, six of the ten days since they acquired him…..
  13. I think initial reports were until July-ish, so that'd be consistent if he was back now.
  14. We know why it kind of had to be last week, but I agree that he shouldn't have been used today unless they had to. Dude has to be gassed.
  15. Yeah, I'd take that bet... So I assume that means you are disagreeing with me. If so, you really think he's going to be on our roster for 3 years after this? I think that saying ANYTHING 2.5 years out and claiming it to be a certainty is a poor idea.
  16. Taylor hasn't exactly been lighting it up lately. With JBJ and um, Yelich in the lineup, really no one else to waste an AB there.
  17. Can't sweep a double-header if you don't win the first one. So, well done.
  18. Well, great. I'd prefer to point out the failures of other fanbases rather than our own.
  19. Have you been to any games at AFF recently? Brewers fans are terrible. Just hearing the sound of bat meeting ball can send many folks into ecstasy. .... which is still better than Cubs fans, who think a popup to shallow right field is a homerun.
  20. Yeah I agree. He is a former Cub, so what? It's not like he was a dirt bag or bad mouthed the Brewers. Just a weird, petty fan reaction. I was trying to figure that out the last couple of games as well. Why in the world, other than the Cub thing, does any fan in attendance care about him?
  21. Who, exactly? And have they also been asked to pitch in 5 of their new teams' six games since acquiring him?
