  1. Seems like an odd take. We saw his potential to contribute just last week. Obviously, the reason they were able to sign him was the fact that he took little money because of the associated risk. Considering that Julio Jones, another player that fans wanted the Packers to sign, is also already battling nagging injuries and is likely to miss today's game, it shows that the 'veteran WRs' that were available this offseason all had flaws.
  2. They were drooling all over the play of the DB, but I too thought that went through the receiver’s hands first…
  3. Disagree. Hornibrook lacked arm strength and was inconsistent with accuracy in the short game. But, the staff managed him and the game well and they won a bunch of games with him at QB. Mertz just isn’t very good.
  4. How quickly we forget the Alex Hornibrook Experience….
  5. Wisconsin’s staff won a lot of games by coaching mediocre QBs into guys who can win games for them despite their flaws. Mertz shows no signs of being talented enough to even do that at this point.
  6. It is kind of funny that for all the fan base’s complaining about mediocre QBs like Stave and Hornibrook, the supposed savior in Mertz has resulted with a QB who is literally horrible.
  7. To be fair, they’re missing both starting tackles…
  8. So Leonhard would get a mulligan because of the talent gap but Chryst would be on the hot seat despite it? Doubt it very much. Either it’s a pass for everybody or everyone takes the blame.
  9. The defensive coordinator who is getting absolutely embarrassed tonight? I expect a plodding traditional Wisconsin offense, but the defense looks like JV vs. NFL right now.
  10. Nothing like a devastating, terrible turnover to end the game early.
  11. The Packers are literally paying him less than their punter. I’d say they adequately accounted for the risk associated with the signing.
  12. I’m stunned that no one is discussing the report that Bakh is expected to start tomorrow yet….
  13. Bahk did practice today, for those interested. Limited participation, per the injury report.
  14. I think the point is that if you believe that the coaches, etc. have been misleading or at least not telling the whole story regarding Bahk, you have to also assume that the plan was for him to start this week. There's no way they would have wasted a roster spot on him vs. shelving him if they legit expected the injury to linger into week 4 or beyond. The only two logical options are that 1)They always planned on him starting vs. TB, or 2)he's had a modest setback that was unexpected, so there's no misleading stuff going on. If the setback was severe, he'd be on the IL.
  15. Yep. Felt like they were clearly headed in for the dagger score to make it 31-7 on the fumbled handoff. Defense held them to 3 and it again felt like they were driving before Myers' goof that set them so far behind the sticks. Disappointing that it needed a GL stand to technically be over, as it was a game the Packers had solidly in hand for most of it. Run defense certainly has some tape to learn from, though.
  16. McCarthy's offense last night made the Iowa Hawkeyes' offense look dynamic. Absolutely brutal. I've long thought that Dak was an average QB that was made to look better than that by a talented offense and a scheme that allowed him to magnify his strengths under Garrett. McCarthy's scheme, as we all know, relies heavily on good QB play, and I don't think Dak can carry them. Expectations were very high in Dallas this offseason, and Jerry has little patience when a team underperforms expectations. They've got a tough one vs. Burrow next weekend, so I'd think the seat might start getting a little hot for McCarthy if they look flat again.
  17. That Z story is super weird. As has been pointed out repeatedly online today, he wasn't named a captain last year after being named the previous two. There was something super weird going on between him and the locker room last year.
  18. I haven’t verified, but apparently after yesterday’s cuts the Vikings have released 3 of their first four picks from last year’s draft. Insane. The Raiders have also now released or declined 5th-year options on all six of their first rounders from 2019-2021.
  19. Why in the world did the Eagles release Anthony Harris? Mediocre 2021, but a really solid S before that. I know, cap and all, but he'd seem like a crazy good fit in the safety rotation considering how battered the Pack is there.
  20. So thus far, it's essentially been Walker over Jones on the o-line, Taylor over Goodson, Toure over Winfree. Probably the right move in all cases, though Goodson was certainly debatable. Now we wait to see how many make it to the PS.
  21. It’s possible that the Hader trade completely demoralized our fan base and the clubhouse to some extent, and his bullpen replacements won’t perform overly well in 2022, and it still may end up as a win for the Brewers on paper. It’s insane. Really does wonder if the comments earlier in this thread about the Brewers possibly knowing something are legit.
  22. Walker had a really nice game last night in his debut. They’ve got some tough o-line choices.
  23. Yeah, he was playing starting OLB last night, which he won’t do week 1. He’s a solid option as the 3rd edge rotation guy in pass rush situations, which has immense value. He won’t be tasked with much run defense this season.
  24. First INT for Love where it looked like he flat out misread the defense.
