  1. Not a good day for scoreboard watching. Cardinals are playing unbelievably lately.
  2. Eddie Silva hit a 3 run walkoff shot for the Rattlers tonight.
  3. Meh I kind of disagree with you on drubbing vs. lose a heartbreaker. I'm as big of a Packer fan as there is and I can take the playoff losses like Atlanta, 49ers, etc. where we just got our butts whooped and that's all there is to it. Disgusted yes, but over it by the next day. It's the Arizona playoff games or the Seattle playoff games that just ache for weeks. Agreed though that being in a pennant race in MLB is always better than being out of it by now, certainly.
  4. If the Reds want to let him go for a free salary dump, I'll take him. Not interested in giving up anything of any value for him.
  5. That's easy to say now but I don't believe its necessarily true. Snell was really struggling last year. Got sent down to the minors this time last year, while Corey was an All-Star closer coming off a dominant season. No one was saying "no way is Knebel enough" at the time -- if anything, the opposite. Now I do think that it's possible that the Ray's weren't really that interested in Knebel and would have wanted to go in a different direction if they dealt Snell, but value-wise at the time I don't see anything wrong with it.
  6. Do they have a choice? Right now the pen is Jeffress, Hader, Burnes and dynamite. If Albers can be anything close to effective, it's worth taking a look. Well, Soria should be back this weekend. Williams has looked better since coming back, got a little burned by some bad luck. As long as it's not against a lefty I feel very confident in him. Same with Jennings the other way, although I have a little less confidence there, evidenced by last night. I wonder if Counsell would ever consider pairing them up with the strategy of stashing one in the OF for one AB and bringing him back in for the next guy. But yeah, if you can get pre-June Albers back it would be big.
  7. I'm really surprised they're bringing him back up already when this was an obvious stash DL move.
  8. Jesus has managed to make 4 outs and strand 6 runners in the span of 2 plate appearances.
  9. Bah. Swung at a Ball 4 RBI. Hopefully 4 will be enough today.
  10. Why do we seemingly so often take strike 3 with runners in scoring position?
  11. Whatever we do today, don't jump out to a 4-0 lead. That never seems to end well.
  12. I'm already annoyed that we won't sweep after the disaster inning yesterday. I can't imagine losing this series.
  13. Herrera will never make it past the Dodgers who have waiver priority over us. They really need pen help and they'd be foolish not to claim him. Wieters...meh. He doesn't do much for us. Pina has been swinging a hot bat too. I'd rather get someone like Francisco Cervelli.
  14. Actual lineup, not a guess. 1. Christian Yelich (L) RF 2. Lorenzo Cain ® CF 3. Mike Moustakas (L) 3B 4. Jesus Aguilar ® 1B 5. Travis Shaw (L) 2B 6. Ryan Braun ® LF 7. Jonathan Schoop ® SS 8. Manny Pina ® C 9. Freddy Peralta ® P
  15. The good part is because of how arbitration works, we're still going to get the pleasure of paying Knebel at least 4M next year. He's not going to get non-temdered, but another season like this one next year will probably get him there.
  16. It would cost us 25M in 2019 and 25M again in 2020 to claim Zimmerman and we cannot afford that. Especially for a pitcher who is solid, not spectacular.
  17. I'm quite serious. I recall the "standing ovation" that he got at Miller park and the to head to the West coast. Granted he pitched okay at AT&T Park but it could be a lingering issue. No one has any clue as to why CC hasn't used him as much and I give a possibility. What is your guess then??? My guess is that you're not a Brewers fan and trolling this board. Have a good night.
  18. Perhaps Counsell knows that Hader is "under stress" and reluctant to pitch him. Do you recall the vicious BOOS he got in San Francisco?? It could effect a younger guy like Hader...No one else seems to give an explanation as to why he isn't pitching more......?????????? No, it was more like a few isolated boos, was not at all like you're describing. Did you watch the game, or just read an article on Yahoo about it? It has not seemed to affect him in the least, judging by his recent performance. Hader didn't pitch today because he threw 2 innings yesterday and 1 the day before. I guess I'm trying to figure out if you're being serious here?
  19. I'm bumping this because Nieves absolutely deserves a shoutout for this one. This would be the trade of Stearns' career if he had pulled it off. Not that it was ever necessarily an option for Stearns, so I'm not blaming him but -- nice call, Nieves.
  20. ....What? Josh Hader has been fine since the All-Star break. Really, really good, like always. Josh Hader is not remotely a problem right now.
  21. I get what you're saying but putting the lead runner on base intentionally with the bases empty is almost unheard of. You go from a homer losing the game to a double losing the game.
  22. Keon failed but I didn't have a huge problem with his AB. All the pitches he swung at were strikes or borderline, not like he was chasing pitches at his ankles. I don't really care there if he wants to take 3 mighty rips and hope to run into one to win it as long as he's swinging at strikes. Chances were always that he was going to fail as he is a highly strikeout prone hitter against their closer.
  23. At first I thought you were a Brewers fan. Then a Cubs fan. I really have no idea what you are, but it's been a strange first 34 posts.
