  1. I'm so sick of guys not running plays out and it's already happened too many times this season. A little bit of effort can make the difference between winning and losing.
  2. Horrible baserunning by Thames . Just disappointing to bomb the basics.
  3. Going to suck if we lose this 5-4. And yes I agree with you guys it was not a bad decision. I was just a little surprised how easily he was gunned down. Looked to me like he got a decent jump.
  4. Exactly. On 1st with two down in a one-run game is the absolute perfect time to attempt a steal. You are going to get caught once in a while. But that's not gonna stop the Villar hate. He is below replacement level currently as he was last season. That doesn't help. I was a big Villar fan in 2016. He just flat out has been a pretty bad player since then. It's not like people are just ripping on the mistakes of a guy who is a great player.
  5. The decision to steal was not a horrible one in that situation, trying to get a guy in scoring position with 2 out, I can get on board. But the execution was atrocious. The fact that he was thrown out so easily on what looked like a not terrible jump is pretty alarming. He looks absolutely nothing like his 2016 self.
  6. Glad this should be Sogard's only start until Arcia returns.
  7. Still early but Woodruff dealing so far for Colorado Springs tonight. Will be kind of disappointing if Suter makes another start.
  8. That was annoyingly unlucky on those last 3 flyouts.
  9. Now Braun just missed one too, but at least we got a run back. Smart tag by Santana on Yelich's flyout, otherwise that doesn't score him.
  10. That right there is why I hate having Yelich in RF. Just a waste of his defensive talents.
  11. Agree. I have been as big of supporter of Suter on here as anyone, but if he can't get it done we need to give Woodruff another look if he's throwing well in AAA. No way is this true of anyone not named Clancy.
  12. I guess sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Should have been an easy double play.
  13. Wow just read Knebel is already throwing off a mound.
  14. Don't think that should have been caught Rock, that was pretty much in no man's land in left center.
  15. Woodruff should not have been demoted for this. Especially when you just said when he made the team that he's a guy who needs to get his shot here and be given a chance without being jerked around.
  16. Suter is like the Eric Sogard of starting pitchers. Managers probably love him, you want to cheer for him...but the reality is he just isn't very good.
  17. Braun's days off shouldn't come against LHP whenever possible. Unless they really want to get Aguilar and Santana both in.
  18. Trading him probably means we aren’t in the mix this season. Why not? I mean, everyone wanted to trade Santana a month ago, that was the whole plan many of us thought, to clear up the logjam. The only reason we were talking Santana and not Braun is because Braun is much less tradeable. We are pretty well covered at both 1st and the OF. We know Braun's bat is for real, but so are his injuries. There will be stretches this year where we are excited about what he's doing and there will be stretches this year when it's a burden to have him because injuries have made him either ineffective or unavailable. Right now we're in the middle of one of those first stretches. If he can have a very healthy stretch (because we do know that's only temporary), sell the Dodgers on him, pull the trigger on a high point for him, gain roster flexibility, financial flexibility, and useful pieces(s), I don't see that as a bad thing or something that should preclude us from contending.
