  1. Bases should be loaded with 1 out, instead the inning is over. Please give us the machines.
  2. Surprised he jumped Keon I'm not. Keon can only play CF apparently, and Cain has been durable. Phillips is great defensively anywhere out there. Are we sure Keon can't play the corners? That seems strange to me. I hear of a lot of corner OFs that can't play CF but not usually the other way around.
  3. Damn. I really thought they were going to pay for walking Thames to get to Yelich.
  4. This is exactly why I wish people would step back and look at some of the underlying motives when they see some of their favorite prospects traded for young MLB talent. Myself included. There is a glutton of upcoming protectable minor league talent. The top 3 are must protects, and the next 3 are going to fall into that category with even a decent year. Everyone else from 7-13 is going to be tough to leave unprotected with a big year. They either package some of it for upgrades now like they did with Yelich or risk losing these guys next winter, or make room for them. So more moves will probably be forthcoming. It would look even more daunting if we hadn't already traded Harrison and Diaz, both of which are pretty much burned spots on the 40 for now because neither one will be MLB ready by winter.
  5. Here lies the problem, because this is not going to happen. Not for more than very short spurts anyway.
  6. Yeah, I haven't heard much talk that we should just make Braun the everyday 1B lately. Thames will continue to start against all RHP as he has and should. Braun will start at 1st vs LHP and share starts in the OF against RHP. The only guy really left out when all are healthy is Aguilar which isn't really fair. Of course as we've seen so far the logjam tends to solve itself.
  7. Coshun didn't seem to think that was a HR off the bat. The more I watch Santana, the less surprised I am that there wasn't much of a market for him.
  8. Seems like something the hitting coach probably should be noticing.
  9. The terrifying thing is that I really have no idea if you're kidding.
  10. you DL him so we can get someone else on the roster who can actually play. Having him day to day at all times wastes a roster spot. Of course it does. But what good does it do to DL him when after 10 days you're in the exact same spot? Well obviously you have to pick and choose your spots, like you said you can't DL him every time he sneezes. But you do need to do it from time to time, we can't afford to play with a short bench for the next 3 years. Perez has already seen way too much time in the OF. If you can get 3 straight relatively healthy weeks at a time out of Braun, then 10 days off on the DL-- that honestly might be the best you can hope for at this point. He was healthy as far as we know in ST and then the first 2 weeks of the season. We honestly just aren't going to get much more than 3 weeks at a time out of him anymore.
  11. Buckle up, Brewer fans. We've got 3 more years of the constant Ryan Braun nagging injuries.
  12. LePay's heart must start to race when a pitch goes by that makes the count even and he realizes he is only seconds from getting to say "breakeven pitch."
  13. Pitchers are sure making Nottingham earn it tonight.
  14. At least Santana was hustling, he is just incredibly slow.
  15. I can see this being a Barnes for the 7th, Hader for the 8th and 9th kind of night.
  16. Wow, have there actually been people arguing for that? Thames is streaky no doubt, but when he's "on", he's one of the top power threats in MLB. Yeah, previous page. Thames' role shouldn't be complicated. He should start every single game against RHP and never against LHP.
  17. I get why people like Aguilar, but I don't get why people want him to play every day instead of Thames, considering Thames has been our best offensive player. And it isn't even really close.
  18. He's a very good framer. Supposedly. If there are still concerns about his defense, I definitely don't see them from first impressions.
  19. A team slump is an understatement. Way too much talent to be doing what they're doing. Look from all accounts Coles is a good dude. But this is overdue and none of this is knee jerk. Going back to last July, if we haven't been the worst offense in baseball since then, we've got to be bottom 5. People said it's just a slump. It never ended. Since Coles took over this offense has been 22nd, 25th, and 20th in runs scored in baseball. It's not acceptable. We were not supposed to have to worry about the offense this year and yet -- same same. I don't know everything he does, but it's obvious that whatever he's doing isn't working.
  20. We have 4 guys in our lineup over the Mendoza line, and the 2nd best season OPS is .727. Good times.
  21. There isn't a time limit to how long a player can stay on the DL. The 10 day is a minimum, not a maximum.
  22. Moot point soon enough. Bandy is out of options and they won't carry 3 catchers so he's moving on one way or another soon when Vogt returns. My guess is Bandy gets traded in the next month to a team needing a backup catcher in a PTBNL/cash/international bonus space type deal.
  23. I disagree. Lara was a very high profile international signing and is only 20. Suppose he has a huge bounceback 2018 in Appleton and starts to put it together. He'd be an ideal Rule 5 target for a rebuilding team like Miami or San Diego that doesn't really give a rip about 2019 and could afford to just stash him on their bench. I'm not saying that he would definitely get taken, but he definitely could regardless of his lack of time in A+ or higher.
  24. Boy, that was depressing to read.
