  1. The dumb chase out of the zone to pop up on the 2-0 pitch with the bases loaded and the pitcher struggling with his command is what really chapped me tonight.
  2. Unfortunately, yes. Blaming Chourio for a 0.1 second decision without any guidance and the ball behind him is absolutely insanity.
  3. This is going to sound crazy, but not every 20-22 year old is completely refined in every part of their game coming up to the bigs. Some of it comes with growth along the way. That does not make them “rushed”. “Rushed” implies that he was brought up before he was ready. His production clearly indicates that he was indeed ready.
  4. So he put up 4 WAR as a rookie but he wasn’t ready for the show. Got it.
  5. No, he wasn’t. He literally put up 4 WAR as a rookie 20 year old. That is plenty good enough to play and start for any lineup in baseball. He was ready to play at this level. I think the last thing we can do this year is accuse our guys of being too aggressive calling up our prospects with as much as we’ve been pulling out our hair to see players like Lara get a shot over Frelick. The amount of criticism for one of our best players who just got a huge 9th inning clutch hit off one of the best closers in baseball is crazy.
  6. lol, sweet AB, William. Way to go out showing your former team what they’re missing.
  7. Solid AB by Yelich to at least give Jackson a chance here.
  8. He has a .687 OPS against RHP. For being your platoon favorable side, that is not solid.
  9. Sal is bad, doesn’t have the power to turn on one there, and doesn’t even hit particularly great against RHP. You could make an equally good or better case for Sanchez.
  10. Saw something the other day that Sal is among the 20 worst qualified position players by WAR in baseball. He has more than earned a trip to Nashville and we keep treating him like he’s Jackson Chourio going through a slump,
  11. Find someone who loves you the way that Pat Murphy loves Sal “Slappy” Frelick.
  12. I don’t know if I want Pratt to bat here, but the alternatives aren’t much,
  13. Well, let’s see if Bauers can do something special.
  14. Yeah, the Braves “worst” hitter by OPS is Austin Riley, and he still has a .646 OPS and more homeruns this year than both Christian Yelich and William Conteras. Be a serious contending franchise and stop filling out your lineup card with guys like Joey Ortiz and Blake Perkins.
  15. Well, they have a lot better bullpen than we do.
  16. Against this pen, that should be enough of a cushion.
  17. Just another stranded runner in scoring position with nobody out. Now 1 for 9 with RISP.
  18. We are proud of our regular seasons and so long as we keep winning the division we aren’t going to do anything to rock the boat. It'll be another underwhelming deadline of watching us largely stand pat while our rivals plug holes.
  19. Now if only Ortiz could have just advanced the runner from the 2nd to 3rd, it would be a 2-2 tie game. But of course, he couldn’t.
  20. Hey, thanks for nothing, Joey. Couldn’t even get him over to 3rd.
  21. Not going to be too hard on Miz. Can’t expect nothing but zeros every game. It’s been another game of unacceptable results with runners in scoring position.
  22. Why on earth are we going with 3 cutters on 3-2?
  23. See William, we needed THAT at bat last time. And we need that baserunning never.
