  1. The Yount lot to the east is where I park 60 times a year. I do not want any development there.
  2. Fyi, the parking lots open half an hour before the gates. You can use that time to walk around outside before you can go into the stadium. There is the Walk of Fame (similar to the Hollywood stars) in the ground outside CF to LF?. There are statues to celebrate the workers who built the park, Yount, Aaron, Uecker, and Selig near home plate. There is also a little league diamond that sits where County Stadium used to be.
  3. They were selling the unsigned stand alone seats for $250 on Opening Day. They were beat up pretty good.
  4. I do want to see a starter melt down. I wouldn't mind seeing Lynn melt down on Monday letting Wang pitch the 8th and/or 9th up by 15
  5. First game of the season I can't watch and Braun finally gets the two HRs I've been waiting for all offseason. <----- Sees the cloud in every silver lining.
  6. The starting pitcher gets to decide what uni to wear (except for special 80's jersey days). Yo likes to pick the blue. I believe Peralta had his first good outing on a Sunday. With baseball players being superstition, he picked Gold for his next handfull of games.
  7. That is why it is split, so they could move the first game and the ticket holders still go to Opening Day. It is also the reason they don't split in Milwaukee anymore, no chance of having to move the game.
  8. I actually like the German unis with the green accent. I do want them to re-add it.
  9. We used to have a system that good. And it got us one good year. I think we need to clear out the top (the front office) before we worry about rebuilding the bottom.
  10. I like the gold and the blue. I'm rather blah on the whites and dislike the greys.
  11. I don't care how much money they are being paid. They are there to win games any way they can. Here are my back of the envelop calculations. Slugger A decides to bunt every time he sees a shift. He is successful X out of 100 times. His OBP would be X/100. His SLG would be X/100. His OPS would be X/50 (2x/100). To make X% the break even point, multiply OPS by 50. OPS - Percentage bunts successful needed to break even 1.000 - 50% .950 - 47.5% .900 - 45% .850 - 42.5% .800 - 40% .750 - 37.5% .700 - 35% Remember that these percentages are just to match the swing away production. 2013 Jay Bruce would need to be able to lay down a bunt against a lefty at a clip greater than 37% for it to be worth it. Since he doesn't do it often (and obviously doesn't see the ball against a left well), I don't think he could do it. Also remember that a left will already be following through in that direction. It's good to attempt every once in a while (like Prince and others do), but not every time.
  12. Like our Starter and Closer on Opening Day. What did the media say about our reaction to them? How many of the boos were about his PEDs and how many of the boos were about how he left the team?
  13. The only way to suppress usage is to take away the financial bonus people like Peralta get when they use. 2nd offense: voids their current contract and resets their Service Time to 1 year. Then teams would be willing to turn in their own stars.
  14. I would have given it to Sabathia.
  15. I received a letter from the Brewers today. In it was a note from my rep and some one day passes to the .300/Metavante/FIS/JCI/WhoWantsToSponsor club. The note said she remembered that I've mentioned getting these passes before. I don't know if she remembers a phone conversation from 5+ years ago, my posts here, or various "anonymous" STH surveys I've filled out over the years. Either way, I finally got passes (from the Brewers and not Hawing) in my 14th year! What a great way to brighten my spirits on what had been a bad day at work.
  16. A great follow up question would be, "During your time in Milwaukee, how many free agents did you call?".
  17. I'll be there for the 14th time. Section 211 since my Mom has our regular seats.
  18. Making a trade with the Pirates means we get to put Wang in the minors. That delays his payday by a year.
  19. 3 vs ATL - 1-2 3 @ BOS - 0-3 3 @ PHI - 1-2 3 vs PIT - 2-1 3 vs STL - 0-3 4 @ PIT - 1-3 3 vs SD - 1-2 3 vs CHC - 2-1 3 @ STL - 1-2 9-19
  20. Record: 80-82 All Stars: Lucroy as a backup Biggest Surprise: First Base will be better than average Biggest Disappointment: Pitching, CF offense, and 3B DL Playoffs: It will be Cubs/Brewers for the draft pick race by June Place: Depends on whether the Cubs or the Brewers trade for prospects first
  21. The runner cannot lower the shoulder, push with hands, elbows or arms, and must make an attempt to touch the plate. That is the biggest change from the runner's perspective. The runner has lost all desire to hit the catcher both from a baseball sense and a health sense. Home plate will be treated like any other base. Some incidental contact will occasionally occur, but both sides will try to avoid a collision.
  22. Sorry I didn't reply when I saw you put this up. I got the ok from the wife today. The major impediment is work. I work as a consultant and may get an assignment that won't give me Thursdays off. Right now it won't be a problem but I may need to bow out at some point.
  23. They also say Reynolds will produce the best wOBA in the infield after A-Ram but will only get 21 ABs. If we're going to roll with Juan Francisco for 420 ABs, why did we go get ~20 1B for spring training?
  24. The fear is having another Suppan situation. An older pitcher is added who is worthless near the end of the contract when the Brewers make the playoffs.
