  1. That was the complaint last year. This is all about appearing safe without actually delivering. They also have a new video for before the game. It goes into detail how to exit in an emergency. They cover every type of seat location! Maybe it's because I'm not a moran, but I'd love to see how many people find this information useful.
  2. I think the HOF gains the rights (after they sign off on it) of the players merchandice. It's not old players that are blocked, only the ones that made it to the hall. It causes a big problem if you want a personalized jersey and you share a name with one.
  3. The wife and I enjoy wearing our customized jerseys. They are the ones we bought to put on at the alter.
  4. We forced umps to start calling the strike zone in accordance to the rules. That resulted in a rise in the top of the strike zone. The last time the strike zone was changed we moved the bottom from the top of the knees to below the knees. Maybe he's thinking of moving it back.
  5. I attend the Brewers all the time. Despite how horrible the parking attendants are, I would 10x rather park at Miller Park than downtown. I could see the last play and be home before the post game radio show had finished the highlights of the game. It's been getting worse because of the parking company but is still better than the mess downtown.
  6. The big money teams can keep that talent they draft. Did you ever hear rumors that Jeter, Rivera, et al ware going to leave because the Yankees didn't have enough money to keep him? Small market teams have to carefully decide which players to extend and which to give away.
  7. I'm in. Ryan better be an all-star ringer if we're letting him in.
  8. Would this be enforced as much as the rule saying batters must be in the box?
  9. Hank will live as long as the average middle age woman keeps buying his merchandise.
  10. I am surprised they go for deferrals. The money will be worth less in the future than it is now. The final dollar amount is usually greater because of this. (using made up dollar amounts) "We'll give you $110M for the next 7 years. Or we'll give you $150M over the next 14." "You'll give me $150M? Where do I sign?" The Mets did the Bonilla deal because they had this guy named Madoff who would make them more in interest. But Bonilla's was guaranteed money.
  11. We are still looking at the results of Prince's neck surgery. As much as I get wistful of his time here I hope this is not the case.
  12. I wouldn't mind keeping the sausage race, but everything else should be junked.
  13. Usually no. In 2011 we were originally to be one seat apart. I was able to call my rep and swap with that middle seat. It wasn't too hard since we aren't allowed our normal locations and the Brewers know it is a ticket scalper that own those seats.
  14. The Giants also had an Opening Day day salary $50M more than the Brewers. That is a good way to cover up mistakes. If the Brewers had half that cash for a 1B we could have probably made up that 6 game difference.
  15. There is a reason I only have one seat and my mom just happens to have the seat next to me.
  16. I just got the email today. My SSH price went up $1 a ticket. They justify it by showing how much I would have paid if I had bought the same tickets at "on demand" prices. They don't mention that the on demand prices were probably cheaper if I had bought all of them ahead of time (like 5 months before opening day). It also didn't mention that the on demand prices were probably driven up with the awesome start to the season. Will the on demand really be that high in 2015 if they are 15 back and in last place by June? Our bonus gift for being a SSH? An exclusive Lucroy bobblehead and $100 if food vouchers. Yawn.
  17. If I only care about career production, I want A-Ram. But a point can be made that the Brewers would benefit from going with Headley. It shouldn't be Ramirez vs Headley. It should be Ramirez vs Headley plus the money spent on another player (like a good 1B).
  18. RR has a year left on his contract. The Brewers don't need to actually come out and say they aren't firing him. It would also be strange to have a GM hire a new manager the year he is retiring (as rumored). I really don't see them laying blame on Gomez. He's too well liked by the fans and didn't slump in the eyes of Average Joe. Laying blame on Segura would be a PR disaster. "He kept thinking about his dead son instead of the team so we're getting rid of him." Do they blame the longest tenured Brewer in Weeks? He was at the short end of a platoon so he didn't effect many games. And if he had a problem with MKE, why did management keep him around for this long? Can't blame minor league roster invites at First. Can't blame team MVP Catcher. Can't blame a Right Field MVP battling an injury. That only leaves Davis and Ramirez. Or the possibility is that all of this was a bag of PR wind and a sacrificial lamb(s) is found in the coaching ranks.
  19. I need to stop watching all Badger games. I watched 2 regular season BB games last winter. Both were losses. I had time to watch my first CFB game and they look terrible against Northwestern. Or maybe I should take one for the team and become a Cardinal fan.
  20. I received a mail post card today. In case any SSH don't get it here is the text with original formatting. An important change from about SSH information. Makes financial sense from the Brewers point of view, but I always liked the tactile experience of getting the renewal information.
  21. It's not just because the pitchers don't want it. They can sell the "game used" balls for around $40 each. This is the same reason they need to swap out the bases half way through the game. Now you have twice the number of bases to sell.
  22. The pitchers are sometimes ready between innings. The umps sometimes hold up the game to make sure enough commercial time has occurred. If you are at the game you can watch the 2nd base umpire who will have a stopwatch. There is also someone near the opponent dugout that holds up colored cards to signify timing.
  23. So we will have 3 numbers retired for guys that played a total of six years on the Brewers. [sarcasm]Totally not a desperate move by a pathetic franchise.[/sarcasm]
  24. Guys are underpaid when they first come up. Then they are overpaid. That is the way the union and owners want it. You can't blame Rickie for that. I have been of fan of his since I talked to his parents about a month after he was drafted. I was very upset I didn't get a chance to send him off to a standing ovation.
  25. I was watching MLB.tv live on my phone for the last inning. The 27th out was awesome.
