  1. JaDerHeyski and I are going on our Honeymoon in two weeks. We will be taking our Galaxy tablet with us and think it would be a great way to pass time on the planes. We were thinking of watching movies or other videos. The problem is that the airline charges $14 a day for wifi and dowloading movies before the trip cost $6-$10 each. Does anyone have any suggestions we could cheaply watch movies while up in the air? It's been 7 years since I've flown. Does anyone have general tips/warnings about current plane travel?
  2. The current inflation rate is ~2.93%. If that holds steady, $13M in 2017 would only be worth $11.89M in today's dollars. The Brewers would basically be saving over $1M of today's money value if they can pay the salary later. It's not about having the cash on hand or taking out a loan, it's about the finance guy knowing the valuation of the monetary system.
  3. STH Opening Day order forms are do 2/7. STH presale of tickets are from 2/18-2/20. I'd expect the tickets to go on sale to the public around 2/22.
  4. Neal Broten never played for the Wild. Aaron played for the Brewers. I am glad he got his number retired here. There have been a number of times where visitors have commented that they didn't know Aaron ever played in Milwaukee. Some people think he played his entire career in Atlanta. I wouldn't be oppose to Fielder getting up there. I wouldn't be upset if he wasn't. Winning a major award (or two) while with the team and getting into the HOF should be enough to get your number retired. That is why Fingers is up there. That is also why I think Braun will get up there unless he completely collapses without PEDs.
  5. Then a group of ex-players sue MLB that they didn't stop them from taking PEDs.
  6. Didn't we say 2013 would be great if our pitchers pitched like they did at the end of 2012? I have no faith that this team as currently constructed will be .500.
  7. Some of the updates (especially the 8.1 update) require multiple steps which include multiple reboots. I also had problems after going to 8.1 until I realized that not all of the steps were completed and I needed to restart a couple more times.
  8. How about a Steve Yzerman or Troy Aikman?
  9. It's to make sure they are really done. What would happen if a guy is elected to the Hall and he decides to make a comeback? If a guy is forgotten after five years, he was not worthy to be in.
  10. Nothing sports related is going Robin19's way. And it probably won't for years.
  11. Playing Weeks a lot early in the season might be a horrible mistake. If he is on pace to get to 600 PA no team will want him and his 2015 contract. If he's playing well you will have union action if the Brewers do something to prevent him from getting to 600. We might platoon him early just to ensure he falls short of this number.
  12. I stopped playing fantasy sports years ago when it was causing me to cheer bad things happening to my teams.
  13. It will still be used. It is also a good teaching language because it is free and it is managed code. There is less concern about memory leaks in Java than C++. It is also much harder to brick your computer with Java. If you don't mind Windows, C# is Microsoft's answer to Java. The Express version of Visual Studios is free.
  14. I remember him getting three standing ovations with a strikeout in 2003. Corey accounts for more than half the baseballs I've gotten from going to games. I wish him all the luck in Seattle.
  15. I only used Linux in school, and that was just to familiarize us with the system. All of my coding has happened on Windows. I would look into Eclipse. It is a free and open IDE. There is also an Android version for writing phone apps. If you want to jump in the deep end you can use any text editor to write your code. You can then use command line tools to compile and run your code. This is how we learned C++ in school. No debugger, no syntax error highlighting, no intellisense.
  16. Was your family friend talking about the Bud Selig Brewers, Wendy the Witch Brewers, or the current Brewers?
  17. The 4.3 update has been causing me all sorts of problems. I don't use the "phone" part of my device, but have not been able to take a phone call since the update last week. It seems to randomly switch to silent when in vibrate mode or doesn't notify until it is going to voicemail.
  18. Our pitching staff would be horrible. Hitters would salivate when Weeks is playing. Every ball hit to the right side would be a good chance to be a hit.
  19. I imagine it will be the same way they enforce not blocking the other bases.
  20. I don't have Prime and use Amazon. And you can use Amazon as a list for when you do walk into a store.
  21. A laptop is more portable and comes with the UI already. Are you going to dual boot or just run linux? Do you know what programming language(s) you would like to learn? I don't know much about AMD processors. I would only buy a 64 bit machine. I would want 8GB RAM, but 4GB would work and easily upgraded. I also wouldn't care about hard drive space. You can save to the cloud or cheaply purchase an external drive.
  22. Many didn't want Z to leave. There were even suggestions to fire DM and make Z the GM. If reports are correct, DM and not Z is responsible for Gallardo. This is the part that stuck out to me. This seems to describe the Brewers.
  23. I think a majority could get Great Britain. I do think a majority couldn't tell you the difference between Great Britain, England, and the United Kingdom. I would also throw in all African, South American, and Asian countries to "what American's can't find on a map".
  24. Checking the purses. All the time people are surprised they have to get checked. They get to the front of the line and then stop to reposition their bag and open it. Metal detectors are just going to make it worse.
