  1. Bierbrauer was German Day.
  2. No defense, low batting average, low on base, high slugging, strikes out 20% of the time, dumb baserunning, no rings...
  3. My birthday is a "Vintage Brewer" bobblehead game? Lame. Might as well give out the Jeffrey Hammonds one again.
  4. My water heater broke while I was at work. There was a two inch puddle when I got home. What is the Hoo-hoo-ha-ha-hooo-ha-hoo-hoo-ha-ha-ha-hoo-hoo-hoo-ha-hoo-ha-ha-ha-ha-hoo-hoo-ha-ha-hooo-ha-hoo-hoo-ha-ha-ha-hoo-hoo-hoo-ha-hoo-ha-ha-ha-ha-hoo-hoo-ha-ha-hooo-ha-hoo-hoo-ha-ha-ha-hoo-hoo-hoo-ha-hoo-ha-ha-ha-ha-hoo-hoo-ha-ha-hooo-ha-hoo-hoo-ha-ha-ha-hoo-hoo-hoo-ha-hoo-ha-ha-ha-ha-hoo-hoo-ha-ha-hooo-ha-hoo-hoo-ha-ha-ha-hoo-hoo-hoo-ha-hoo-ha-ha-ha-ha-hoo-hoo-ha-ha-hooo-ha-hoo-hoo-ha-ha-ha-hoo-hoo-hoo-ha-hoo-ha-ha-ha-ha-hoo
  5. [sarcasm]You mean by including some CGI Jar-Jar?[/sarcasm]
  6. I got home from work to find the Tigers/Red Sox game on. I'm so jealous of the Tiger fans. I really want a dominant pitcher like Verlander to come up through the Brewers system and get signed to a long term deal.
  7. I don't need a phone call. I'm just curious on why some SSH were called and others weren't. It sometimes seems the organization gives better rewards to 20 game pack holders or bandwagoners and it sometimes rubs me the wrong way. I'm not mad about the influence he has to make the Brewers win. I was responding to why Braun would make national headlines and Cervelli gets a side blurb.
  8. I'm pretty sure it is an MLB directive that only postseason gear be worn during the postseason. I don't think the players/coaches get a choice in gear. I think the team manager sets it out for them.
  9. I think the plays at second will be a gentleman's agreement to not challenge unless it is horrendous. The same reason no manager ever complains about a back foot being out of the batter's box or a coach not being in their box. Every manager knows that their team does the same thing they don't want to bring it to the umpire's attention.
  10. Did you (or others) actually expect him to call every single iteration of season ticketholder? I assumed he would only be calling full-season ticketholders or the bigger spenders out of full-season ticketholders. That's what I originally expected as well, but then I heard reports of 20 game season ticket holders being called as well (some who posted on this site) and "unofficial" confirmation that he was calling all season ticket holders of 20 games or more. I'm sure if I felt like digging around on the site, I could find posts and links to articles that talk about this. As a twelve year full season ticket holder, I'm still waiting for him to call. The other major difference between Braun and Woods is that one plays for a team. If someone is upset with what Woods does they can simply become fans of other golfers. If someone is upset with Braun they have to deal with his success helping the team you cheer for. The difference between Braun and Cervelli is how much they influence the ability for their team to win. We wouldn't have this many threads or this long of a discussion if it was Maldonado or Bianchi that got caught.
  11. I'm going to be selfish. I am kind of glad the Brewers tanked in May. I've seen too much death in the past month to deal with the emotions of a playoff chase or actual playoff games.
  12. [sarcasm]You act like it's weird to hold a roster spot for your starting first baseman.[/sarcasm]
  13. Don't forget to add the Pirates on that list.
  14. I believe worst to best in the same league, and then worst to first in the other league. What I don't know is whether they are using 2012 or 2013 records at this point in the season.
  15. One of the reasons he does so much damage is he doesn't swing at pitches out of the strike zone. Pitchers know they have to throw the ball in the zone or they will walk him. The same pitcher can attack someone like Yuni with pitches out of the zone and know there is low likelihood of a walk.
  16. Why would you never split 9s? It really depends on what the dealer is showing. If they have a weak card (4-6), I would double on anything. I would split 9s the dealer is showing a 7, and maybe even an 8. I could write an app that would allow you to play blackjack. It wouldn't cheat, it would give you realistic odds, you wouldn't know the difference. But why would I do it for free? I'd either want you to pay for the app, or I'd want you to register so I can make ad money. That's why you can't find it.
  17. I hope to never have that bond. First: I don't want a kid of my own. Second: I hope to never have a Brewer that bad on the team again. But good parenting skills Jim.
  18. Jericho, fyi this is not the "Worst Brewers" thread.
  19. Responding To Tone @ xisxisxis: This is the internet. The bottom layer of that pyramid needs to be at least 100x bigger than what you have listed.
  20. Tonight's the last time I'll get to see the Reds this year. Go Cincy and ... Seattle? Crud.
  21. That double play would have been an RBI hit by Friese in '11. If only we had a SS (or one of our 2 CF) for that series.
  22. Made your stat nugget sound even better.
  23. I think that's close to the max he'll have if he hits .330 for a year.
  24. What's bugging me? My mother texted us kids at 5:30 this morning to call right away. I called when I got up around 8:30. My dad was much worse and she was telling all the kids that this might be our last chance to see him. I went to their house as soon as I could. After several hours I was sitting next to his bed (with my mom on the other side) playing with a Rubik's Cube. My wife and sister-in-law tried to get our attention. He was no longer breathing. This was 12:47pm on Satuday Sept 7th. The good news is his wife all of his kids were in the room when it happened. As the oldest, I will need to spend the next week helping my mom. Even though he was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer last summer, my mom never made plans for his passing. She didn't even have a funeral home picked. I know this was a little heavy for this thread, but I had to get it out. So please excuse any other posts I make that take a bitter tone.
