  1. Hilter died on April 30th, iirc, so it's not quite the same as Bin Laden. But I'm so glad to see him go. I don't like Obama, but I tip my cap to how this played out. Well done by everyone on Team America.
  2. I just got Dish Network in Milwaukee. What channel should I use to watch the game? I'm on 447 right now, but the picture is only filling half the screen.
  3. Two hours after our cable install happened, JaDerHeyski got a phone call. It was TWC. They saw that we were interested in their internet services and wanted to call us back to see if we really wanted it. I think someone at TWC divided by zero. This was after the other five phone calls today to make sure we knew we had an appointment today. On good news: I have TV and internet (including Netflix) back! Not bugging me any more! Edit:The PlayStation Network is down? That means no Netflix. Change me back to bugged again.
  4. I have a BlackBerry Curve 8330.I put a Brewers Jersey skin on it.The first app is the Brewers app (a link to the Brewers.com Blackberry site). The second app is Blackberry Messenger so I can talk to JaDerHeyski about the Brewers. The third app is the Browser. BF.Net fan forum is the only bookmarked page.Another app is Twitter. I only got it to follow @Tony_Plush. The only other people I follow are AdamMcCalvy and JohnAxford.I thought BrewBerry is a very fitting term. I had way more than several words with them. JaDerHeyski signed up for Earthlink Monday. She received 5 or 6 sales calls just on Tuesday. She twice requested to be removed from their lists. They claimed it takes 30 days to process and remove her from the list. Really? Your computer systems are so backward you can't remove or change a record in 30 ms? I'm sure this has no representation of how the rest of your business operates. And I'm sure you wouldn't do anything nefarious or stupidly wrong if Net Neutrality was destroyed.
  5. I went online Friday to transfer my TWC internet and TV to my new gigs. Everything seemed fine. Saturday afternoon I plugged my router in, and found that I had no internet. I hadn't unearthed the TV stuff yet to try it. I called them, and they said I had to set up an appointment. For what? The apartment is already wired for cable. I already have the box and service. Just turn it on and we're set. No, they wanted to set up an appointment for Tuesday afternoon between 4pm and 6pm. Well, I'm going to the game at 5pm, so I declined. They then offered a Thursday appointment. I still didn't understand why I would need to wait so long. Then they dropped the bombshell that they are going to charge me $15 as a "transfer fee". I used words not appropriate here and told them to just cancel my entire account. They told me that this was the cheapest way to do it, and that I should just pay $15 and wait a week for service. They said it would cost more to cancel and start a new account. I called bull and canceled. JaDerHeyski signed up for Earthlink (re: TWC Roadrunner) and we have a Wednesday install appointment. With no install fee. Also appearing on Wednesday afternoon: Dish Network with no install fee. I hate TWC and always wanted to switch. I was going to stay with them just to make the transition easy and not have any "down time". They got greedy (again) and tried to steal $15 from me. Now they lost the right to provide me with TV. Yet they always have enough money to market just fine (planes at ballgames, bi-monthly phone calls to get me to switch to their phone service, etc). I would have gone U-Verse, but they don't service my apartments yet. I have been without TV and without internet (not counting work or my BrewBerry) since Friday night. I can't wait to have it back tomorrow night.
  6. It totally looks (to me) like it should read "ma-hohlm", but I've heard "Mahollum" from too many sources for them all to get it wrong. It bugs me a little. Ooh, they found a part of PNC Park that had more than a handful of fans! I'm sure there's a discussion at PirateFan.Net (between all 4 members) about the proper way to pronounce McGehee. Maybe Casey donated one of his syllables to Paul in the minors?
  7. In an 11 game streak from June 4 to June 15 last year, McGehee had a .521 OPS last year (if my quick math is right). I'm sure he (and everyone else in baseball) has had bad streaks like this. This team is going exactly like it was designed. Good pitching keeps runs off the boards. There's enough offense that a couple of guys can be hurt and in slumps and we're stilling putting runs on the boards. At some point, Braun and Prince will go through a bad stretch. McGehee will be out of his funk and it will be his turn to carry the offense for a week. As much as I wanted to trade him, I'm not worried about McGehee.
  8. The Show: I don't have it in front of me, but I do remember you have to go to the "sounds of the show" menu to set up the starting and ending points of the song. Then you need to edit your player (you can still edit most of your player in the middle of RTTS). On one of the pages is walkup music. Your music will be listed at the end after the included music. I'll try to come back later with better detail. 360: You can press the power button and the 360 stops outputing video/audio. I consider it "on" since the fan attachment/jet engine continues to run. Also, if the unit is off and you plug in the controller, it doesn't start charging.

  10. RockCoCougars wrote:If Pete Rose and Joe Jackson are not in, this cheat who was caught twice red handed certainly is not.Pete Rose and (allegedly) Joe Jackson did not cheat at the game. They bet on baseball. After the Black Sox scandal, a specific rule was put into place defining the punishment for this crime. The punishment was a permanent ban from baseball. (I agree that Jackson got the shaft, but Rose got caught decades after this rule was made) After the PED scandal, a specific rule was put into place defining the punishment for this crime. Various suspensions based on times caught, and then ban. I don't think you can compare the two directly. It's like comparing (in no particular order) not paying a parking ticket and a stabbing. The police are involved in both, both are against the law, but we treat the people who perpetrate them differently.
  11. Article about Hart returning ~April 22. If anything, Hart wasn't soft enough. He was trying to get back, and that was what might have been prolonging the injury. If he had just shut down right away, he might have been ready by now. Or it might have just taken this long to heal. Or only acupuncture could cure it. I'm confident in saying this was not a sign of softness.
  12. I think Corey Hart is soft. I like the harder stuff like Metallica or Rage Against the Machine. Until I hear otherwise from a reliable source, I do not think someone is soft because of injury. Maybe the Brewers knew Hart would be out this long? Maybe they were mum to get a better deal for Plush? Maybe there were some setbacks that the Brewers just decided to not announce? There is too little information to make these kinds of conclusions.
  13. That's not true. I say we dig up Ruth and unfreeze Teddy Ballgame. Our outfield will dominate!
  14. I ran the numbers for everyone. I'm not a professional stat man, so someone else might glean better knowledge from this. Legend:Column A: Team/Division/League nameColumn B: The number of plate appearances with nobody on baseColumn C: The number of plate appearances with someone on baseColumn D: The percentage of plate appearances with someone on baseColumn E: The number of solo home runs hitColumn F: The number of multi-run home runs hitColumn G: The percentage of home runs that were multi-run home runsColumn H: The difference between the percentage of multi-run homers and the percentage of PA's with runners on base. If a team only has 40% of PA's with runners on base, it should have a lower multi-run homer percentage than a team with 60%. This finds the difference to nullify the difference of PA's with runners on.Column I: Instead of finding the difference, this finds the percentage change by dividing percentage of multi-run homers by the percentage of PA's with runners on. This is an enhancement to Column H. A 2% difference for a team with 40% PA's with runners on is a different number that 2% of a team with 60%. My observations:MLB as a whole has 44.46% PA's with runners on base. 42.58% of home runs are multi-run shots. This is a difference of 1.89%. This is expected, since PA's with runners on includes intentional walks and sacrifices that don't occur with the bases empty. The Brewers have 45.82% PA's with runners on base, better than average. 39.01% of home runs are multi-run shots, below average. This is a difference of 6.81%. Only the Tigers, Twins, Braves, and Pirates have larger differences. These four teams are also the only ones with lower percentage changes than the Brewers. The Brewers rank them 25th in baseball in pure multi-run homer percentage, ahead of the Rays, Twins, Braves, Nationals, and Pirates. Only the Dodgers and the Cubs hit more multi-run homers than solo shots. Conclusion:The Brewers do hit more solo shots than multi-run shots compared to the opposition. My study doesn't try to point to a reason. One thing to point out that may lead us to view this phenomenon as worse than it actually is. The Brewers hit more HR's than other teams in the NL. They were 2nd in HRs, 2nd in solo shots, and 6th in multi-run shots. That's a lot of solo shots to witness, and this may cloud our view of how bad it is.
  15. Fyi, I scored upgraded seats for today. I'n in Friday's against the rail just about behind Braun. It's kind of wierd here in left field.
  16. Braun got a good jump, but froze and retreated a couple steps worried that the SS was going to catch the ball. As soon as he did that, a stop sign should have gone up at third. It was a great game. I love watching a Brewer pitch well, and it was a nice short game on a work night.
  17. hawing wrote:It did fail for part of an inning - the ball/strike/out counter got stuck and the ribbon board went dark - and it looked like the wrong button got pushed on a few occasions. It displays a lot more information during at-bats, but to me did not seem as "busy" as I'd anticipated. One element I found not carried over from the old scoreboard is the scoring decision for each play (6-4-3 or HBP or The Walk Is Intentional). I missed that. The ribbon board started "frizzing out" near home plate (where hawing can't see it). It was frizzing out last year, so it was a disappointment that it wasn't fixed. The operators were trying to fix it. That was when the the main board got "stuck". I think they were just ignoring the ball/strike counter and were working on the ribbon board. The ribbon board then went dark and came back with an obvious start up graphic. In IT, when you don't know what to do, powercycle! The lack of scoring decisions made it harder to score along. The gentleman behind me loudly complained about the "lack of batting average" on the board. Despite the fact that everyone's BA is next to their name in the lineup. Or that the BA is displayed on the ribbon board. He did loudly criticize the OBP on the board, calling it a worthless stat. He was lucky I was in no mode to fight a drunk. And a complete wimp of a shy nerd.
  18. I will wake up with as many ML Managerial wins as RR tomorrow.
  19. Beachy only looked good because he was facing a bad hitting team. I would not have made the trade.
  20. But you need to keep StL and ChC together, and Mil would like to stay with them.
  21. I knew it was fake because rumors of potential contract extensions are not allowed on the main board. You should have gone with the old, we traded someone of value for a slight upgrade at something we don't need trick.
  22. 2 @ Cin 0-2 4 vs. Atl 1-3 3 vs. ChC 1-2 3 @ Pit 2-1 3 @ Was 2-1 3 @ Phi 0-3 3 vs. Hou 2-1 3 vs. Cin 1-2 2 @ Hou 1-1 Optimistic Final 10-16. Tiebreaker is Axford/Saito blow 6 leads this month.
  23. The 360 need to be on with the rechargeable controllers. You can get a PS3 controller stand to charge your controllers.
  24. Wow, the Reds have lit up Yo in his career. And I love a lineup of Weeks, Out, Braun, Fielder, McGehee, Out, Out, Out, Gallardo. I think Gallardo should be batting 5th or 6th in today's lineup.
