  1. Instead of hearing who needs to go, I'd like to see who we should target to bring in here.
  2. I thought it was Steal Underpants = Step 2 = Profits? Belling sometimes has good points but knows nothing about sports. I just hope that whomever buys the team cares more about $$$ than actually winning.
  3. If the bases are loaded, I'll take Weeks. Dude would be able to draw a walk (or HBP) and at least tie the game.
  4. Enron Field, BOB, Comiskey... I still remember the day in high school when we first learned to solve definitive integrals. This was the first one we ever did. It was so easy, and something that looks like this with sin and pi came out to such a nice number. I walked around the rest of the day in shock, similar to the one I had when I finally understood (as much as one can) the Theory of Relativity. http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/1794/e1st8.gif http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/6799/onestepaheadba0.jpg http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/5004/21615915tp7.gif This was the next system I bought after the NES. Comparatively, it seemed like the most powerful machine ever. http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/9842/sonyfirstplaystationav0.jpg
  5. I say we give up Braun... Right there is a no. I can't imagine anybody I'd trade right now for Braun. And how will we pay for Santana?
  6. I still meet a lot of "fans" that think our problem is that we don't bunt enough or attempt enough steals. And that we'd be better off with TGJ starting every day. I don't want a manager doing something just to appease the fans. I think Ned does a great job with this team. I think everyone in the clubhouse likes him and likes his style of play. The only problem I have is with his in-game decisions: Aquino with the game on the line, Mench instead of Jenkins vs RHP, Bruan being pulled from a 7-1 game for defensive reasons, Corey Hart and YoGa sacrifice bunting. He keeps a very even keel and that helps stabilize a young team. But sometimes you've got to realize that there a rocks ahead and you need to adjust your course. If Ned can start learning and being more adaptive during the year he would receive only the normal criticism that every manager gets unjustly.
  7. Be lucky she completed the level...
  8. Maybe we can take two of those prospects of their hands for Jenkins http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  9. They had $30 for 10 games available also.
  10. "Head Hn - Apply directly to the forehead" Great, I know how to use your product. But I think commercials should be about what your product does and why I should try your product. I have no idea what Head On does. Jimbo: Why do they need to list the females seperately? They are equal, and the MJS are treating them as such. What made me come to this thread is Brian the A. He keeps changing his avatar! I like looking at pictures, and I identify users by avatar. Lately, everytime I turn around Brian's got another avatar. I was actually cruising the site for an hour before I realized the new kid posting was our very own A. Grrr [shakes fist in general direction]. I understand why Hawing had to stop using the Sharpie picture. But look at Russ. He's always had that woman as his avatar and I always recognize his posts. Us old people can't keep up with you kids. :p And I hate the month of Sucktember and hope it gets removed from the calander. My country was attacked in this month six years ago. My body shut down for the entire month last year and now I'm sick for the rest of my life. This month on the 11th (damn that day) the woman I loved left me for the reason I feared the most, she was starting to like someone else. Then two days later, the team I loved the moved to second place and was replaced by the team I hate the most. I can't wait to see what happens next year. Sorry, I just needed to vent in that last paragraph and the venting thread is more for all baseball stuff.
  11. Menotti, in the RF bleachers we already have the TV screens. Sometimes you can tell when it was replayed out there. A good idea, but way too expensive. Especially since $40 and a hot spot location will give you the internet on the DS and allow you to go to any website. Including BF.net. That, and I already surf BF.net at the game with my cell phone.
  12. You never said pm in the OP. I posted here and be expecting my $5. :P
  13. I'm in on the bet. With Season Tickets and already paying for four playoff tickets to every game, I'll gladly pay another $5 to see the Brewers make it.
  14. I see ye little diddy and raise ye an "Arrr!" C'mon lads. Let's finish plundering this Maid in a Minute and set our sights for dem natives. We need to surprise and attack'em at home. Then we set our sails northward. Tis be pirate day! An hopefully it be Pirates day all weekend.

  16. Schroeder pointed out several times before the AB that no one was warming up for the Reds. I was at fanfest and could not see the bullpen from where I was sitting. I was also thinking at the time that Yost wanted Jenkins to stay in the game for his defense. But the very next inning you took him out of the game. We should go back to having the fans vote during the game for what should happen.
  17. Looking up just this year's stats, Jenkins hits better against lefties than Mench does against righties. I think the reasoning is that you don't want to put Mench into a game just to have a RHP come in to face him.
  18. We had a good lefty in Shouse. We got another good LOOGY in King to free up Shouse to pitch. The Reds have really good lefties in their lineup. And in a game in which we lost by one run, I didn't see Shouse, I didn't see King, but I did get to see Stetter. I don't think it matters if we go out and get Rivera and Gagne this offseason, they would never pitch in a meaninful game if Ned is still around. Might as well let all our good ones go and only go with unprovens.
  19. I know, I was making an outrageous trade claim in lieu of no actual good ideas for trades. Melvin should be inducted into the HoF the day after he makes that trade.
  20. Brew City- It was announced Wednesday that Robin19 has been released and is now a minor league free agent. After six years of playing in the minors, Robin19 was publicly angry about not being called up. Robin19 repeatedly complained to reporters that he wanted to play on the big league squad, but after six years he was still stuck in AA-ball on the other side of town. Robin19 met with the GF to discuss his lack of upward mobility. Sources report that they argued about the style of play and direction of the franchise. After several hours of negotiation it was finally decided that it was time for the team to try other players. The sources also say that it was a calm meeting. "I'm obviously upset things didn't work out with this team," Robin19 told reporters on Thursday. "But there were no hard feelings between me and the GF. It was just clear things weren't working out. I was upset I wasn't moving up to AAA, and I guess I should have been more proactive in talking to management about it. In hindsight it was a mistake to talk about it to the media and not sit down and talk to the team about it." When asked what he plans to do next, Robin19 said he would spend some time his family and then try to find another team to negotiate with. He did not rule out the possibility of negotiating with his old team again.
  21. Bullpen: Cordero will be offered arbitration and will sign with another team. I believe Class A FA still gives us two draft picks. I don't see why we should pay tons of money for a closer that will never come into a game when it's on the line. Turnbow will be back, you get the most for RP in July. He's already signed and if we don't want him back for 09 we'll trade him. Linebrink: it depends on what his agent is asking for. If it isn't too high, we'll do the same thing as Cordero and net some draft picks or have him accept the contract. I imagine Shouse will be back some how some way. Even if we don't get the two year deal, the time to deal him would be in July or let him go after '08. Catcher: If Miller wants to keep playing I think he'll be back in Milwaukee. We might stick with Estrada just because there won't be anything better for us to use unless a trade happens. (TGJ for Mauer would kick butt) LF: Jenkins with a RH mate maybe Mench. Those two will keep it warm ala Overbay until LaPorta comes up. Gross will be 4th OF to spell Hall and Hart. TGJ will be traded or duct taped to the end of the bench until the 8th inning when a runner for Estrada is needed.
  22. Those were mistakes. They sometimes don't black out games. Also, it is based on your IP address, so did that change?
  23. My fault. I listen to too much Chicago talk radio and get really mad when they make those assumptions.
  24. Dontrelle Willis is the biggest name in the Cubs' future Again, they just assume they'll be able to sign the best player in the offseason.
  25. Yes, because being one hour behind the Brewers hurts you so much. I guess they do have a lot of games on the coast, but it isn't like we're in NY or Bos. Because when you say premiere baseball team of the National League, everyone thinks Milwaukee Brewers. I guess all of our pennants hanging from the rafters scare them off. I guess he doesn't realize that in 14 years they've been to the playoff as much as the Brewers have in 37 years.
