  1. I really miss having Ginger Jordan making my ears bleed at The Keg. She had an annoying voice and didn't seem to know much about baseball. Sandy Maxx at least seems to understand the game. I've always picked D- get rid of the host.
  2. Dionysus, but you usually just say Ysus (pronounced I-s'&s). He's named after the Greek god, but people think it's Isis the Egyptian goddess.
  3. http://img110.imageshack.us/img110/914/sadql3.jpg I need someone's help. I'm three years old. I'm a Bichon/Schnauzer mix. Due to life changes, my master can no longer keep me. It just isn' t the right home for me. I fear being alone. I want to spend all day in the presence of a human. I also like to be pampered, so I don't think I could live in a house with other animals or with a lot of people. Do you know anyone that is retired or doesn't work that would like some companionship? http://img110.imageshack.us/img110/7085/standij8.jpg I can do neat tricks like stand on my hind legs when you say "up". I know "sit" and "lay down", but I sometimes get them confused. I look at you if you call my name. I was also taught what "no" means, so you can teach me what isn't allowed. I also know "go to bed" means I need to go lay down in my cage. But being smart also means you need to keep an eye on me. If I'm left alone for long periods of time I get bored. When I get bored I need to find something to occupy my time. Too often, I occupy my time by exploring around and getting into things. http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/9499/begav4.jpg Please? I'll sit there and stare at you, wagging my tail. If you stop petting me, I'll push my head back into your hands. I just love being petted. http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/1708/lovekt3.jpg You can see here that I just love to love people. I will follow you around all over the house and listen to what you say. I'll be there when you need to pet something, when you ask or not http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I like sleeping on top of the covers at the foot of your bed, but I also know how to sleep in my cage or on the floor. As long as you take me out frequently, I won't make a mess inside either. This is a desperate plea. On Monday February 11th my master is taking me in to the Wisconsin Humane Society. I'll probably find a good home from there, but I just know I won't like being by myself until someone comes along. Do you know anyone that would want to give me a good home for the next 10+ years? I'm up to date on all of my shots, and don't have any health problems. I do have food allergies, so I need to eat fish or lamb based food. If you think you're the one, reply here or send a pm to Robin19.

  7. I wrote John Beamer about the Balk-Off from 2005. It was really interesting because that was Stanton's first game as a National. At the end of the night Stanton had never thrown a pitch for the Nationals but had a record of 0-1. He just wrote me back. "Very intersting and unusual -- thanks for the tip -- that will make the next issue." I had included documentation including the JS article, brewers.com summary, and a link to the video itself.
  8. I also went to the GAB the first summer it opened. I was able to buy tickets from a scalper on game day for right around face value. It was nice, but as much as The Keg has too much green steel I thought the GAB had too much white steel. The stadium workers were 100% better than here in Milwaukee. The only other stadium I've been to is Wrigley, which is a dump, so I don't know how high the GAB should rank. And I bought one of those mini-helmet ice creams down at the GAB. It was piled high with ice cream, cherries, chocolate syrup, tons of whip cream, and was $.50 cheaper than in Milwaukee.
  9. If the Orioles are never winning after eight innings, that's a great spot to hide Aquino.
  10. Doug M and Mark A for their failure to do anything while the team posts a sub .500 record.
  11. When Aquino came back up from the minors and was only used late in close games. That was when I stopped supporting Yost's decisions.
  12. Normally I believe those dinner tickets are only available to the media and totally rich guys. And us season ticket holders. I was sent an invitation several days ago via email. I don't think I have that much money to spend on dinner...
  13. I think Russ was talking about the difference between Tul's and Braun's rankings. I don't think either team will be letting those players go for draft picks. Braun, Weeks, and others are low on the list because they use counting stats for the past two years. The only Brewers we should care about are the vets that might leave the team. Sucks Jenks missed the cut for Type C.

  15. Maybe they were refering to the "youth and inexperience" of the coaching staff? I agree that our bullpen didn't seem to be "overused" based on the numbers and that a number of people in the bullpen cost us games. I never had a problem with Yost if he puts someone into a 'normal' position (Turnbow/Linebrink in the 8th for example) and the reliever failed. I do have a problem with watching Spurling and Aquino getting to pitch in close or tied games and never seeing Cordero in the same game. Especially in the 12th inning at home when it's imposible to "wait until a save situation". Those are the types of decisions I think Yost made that cost us games.
  16. I say you contact the city and just ask specifically for the GM. The GM gave you the number, and the switchboard gave you the name. If you're nervous about the same number popping up on the ID, go to an agent's office and call from there. If the GM took the time to send you a letter she must have recieved a positive scouting report about you. I think you should at least talk to the GM and learn more about the franchise.
  17. Why not become a multi-sport athlete? But that might be difficult with two teams in the same city.
  18. Dallas Cowboys are my team. Although I really like Payton Manning and enjoy watching the Colts play also. Detroit Red Wings are my hockey team. Have been since '95. But I haven't watched a game since the strike. UCLA is the college team I cheer for. When the Badgers finally made the Rose Bowl and had to play UCLA I was torn.
  19. Last year the cheapest season tickets were $8.00 a ticket. So while the average may have moved up 9% - they raised the rates on the cheapest seats 13%. That is kind of surprising, usually these ticket rate increases affect the higher end seats. Overall, I am willing to do my part to help build a winning ball club. And the value is still fantastic compared to many other alternatives. They raised the cost of the seat by $1. It counts for 13% because the seats were so cheap to begin with. The most expensive seats went from $35 to $38. It's only an 8.5% increase, but it is a larger dollar increase. I was expecting a price increase. I do really like the different cost structures of season tickets. Those of us that have suffered through season tickets since the '02 season should get a bit of break compared to the Johnny Come Latelys.
  20. The Cherries? The Cherries refers to something else besides their style of play. Believe me, this team is championship caliber. Definite playoff potential.
  21. One of the gifts the past 3 years is taking BP at The Keg. The ticket people have to get permission from other departments in order to do this. It may just be that they haven't gotten permission yet for next year and are waiting for the go ahead before actually anouncing it.
  22. Brew City- In very shocking news, it was announced that Robin19 has agreed to sign on to an independent league team The Cherries. Robin19 was cut by his old team and he planned to sit out the rest of the season. He was quoted at the time saying that he wanted to land with another team, but no one thought it would be this soon. Least of all Robin19, "It's still a little of a shock to me, too. When an organization gives up on you, you want to spend some time re-evaluating your approach to the game." Apparently Robin19 didn't have as much time as he thought. Shortly after being cut Robin19's agent was contacted via internet by The Cherries. Robin19 wasn't planning on doing any negotiating with them, but "the more I looked at the team the more I liked that attitude over there." Robin19 and The Cherries apparently contacted each other several times to discuss styles of play and general philosophy. "It seems like a match made in heaven. The style of play I'm at now matches the style of play The Cherries are looking for. Our philosophies also appear to be in sink." Robin19 met with The Cherries for a try out on Sunday. The planned hour try out lasted three. "And it would have lasted longer if it didn't start so late." They met again on Tuesday night. "I just wanted to get out and keep from getting out of shape. There was so much chemistry between myself and the team they presented me with a contract right then and there." Robin19 agreed late in the night to sign the contract and become property of The Cherries. "It's a no brainer. When presented with a contract like this from a team that seems to have so much promise you can't turn it down. You don't know when or if the opportunity will come up again. They also had really attractive uniforms." He is expected to be sent to Rookie League, but Robin19 remains confident he will be promoted to their Class A club soon. Robin19's old team could not be reached for comment.
  23. What normally happens is that one of the clubhouse or bat boys runs back and forth between Yost in the clubhouse and the coaches. Yost would still be directing personel changes. A bench coach is the XO (executive officer) of the team. He has freedom to get things done the way he sees fit and works as a sounding board for the man in charge. But the manager will still make the final decisions no matter what the bench coach wants.
  24. I fixed the video in my first post.
  25. ? And I always blame Wendy.
