  1. I told my gf to stop being sexist. I'll buy her a 2K ring right after she buys me a 2K gift. She went to school, same as me, and got a biology degree that should provide more money than my education degree. Why do I have to dole out the cash so she can have a wedding?
  2. Season ticket holders are charged one fee per order. That might be one of the reasons it isn't included in the price.
  3. Matt Smith was born on the exact same day as me. The same Matt Smith that was traded by the Yankees for Abreau. Tim Lincecum, Zach Day, Andy Pettitte, Tony Clark, Wade Boggs, Dusty Baker, and Billy Williams all share my birthday. Happy Chandler, Judy Johnson, and Sam Crawford (the all time leader in triples, my favorite play) all died the same day. Production at work just went down.
  4. I'd settle for one hr and a perfect game from Soup. Acutally, I hope Yo or Bush gets one since I won't be there personally for tonights game.
  5. ...and some us answered you from our jobs. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  6. Weeks will have the day off tomorow. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  7. I have some money in a rollover IRA. I have it diversified a little, even money in Exxon/Moble stock, HP stock, General Mills stock, a foreign stock mutual fund, and a small company stock mutual fund. I haven't been happy with General Mills' stock and want to dump it and invest somewhere else, but I can't decide what to do with it. I'm only 28 and this is a roll over (I have another 401 with my current employer) so I feel I can be kind of risky with this money for at least 10 years. Can anyone suggest a stock or mutual fund to dump it in? Even just general help or sector you think would go well with my portfolio would be good info.
  8. Crud, I forgot it was going to be on. Does anyone know when it will be rebroadcast?
  9. G4's X-Play did a rigor test on the last gen machines. They used sledgehammers, dropped them, stuff like that. The GameCube worked perfectly every time. It was amazing. I got the "Ring of Death" the first time I took it out of the box. I checked online and all I had to do was reset the machine and I haven't had a problem since. Two weeks ago I bought a Wii from Toys 'R Us. They tried to get me to buy the "extended warranty". In their blurb they mentioned that it would only kick into effect after the one year warranty that the manufacturer gives. So I don't think it has to do with the small store, I think all stores will refuse the open item back.
  10. I always said the Brewers problems were too many honkey white bread types. Look at who is trashed on this board: Jenkins, Graffy, Counsell, Mench, Gross, Turnbow, Shouse... Honestly, I really don't care about skin color, but that may be just because I'm too young to understand.
  11. I think they're still negotiating my appearance fee.
  12. And it was an indication the franchise was turning the corner...
  13. The Brewers better win, because this day is not going well for me. Two hours before the start of last Wednesday's game I agreed to sell Monday's tickets to my boss. I thought it was ok since I had softball. Then Yo is announced as starter for the game. Then two hours before softball starts it just starts pouring out here. Grrr.
  14. I agree with 9-10. The pitching staff will find ways to lose games. And the few days the pitchers show up the hitters will forget how to make contact.
  15. We'll score some off Slowey, but Suppan will have already given away the game by then.
  16. It's the fact that we don't boo out the Twinkie fans, we just start an anti cheer. So it seems there are more fans at The Keg. But maybe now we should start calling the Triple H Dome Miller Park West, or The Dome away from Home.
  17. Good job JJ. But let's get more Braun.
  18. Scott Baker, Cy Young award winner, is working again today.
  19. Shhh, we were supposed to pretend we won.
  20. You haven't been there very long. I wouldn't feel bad leaving. I've been debating loyalty to my company. Yesterday I got a letter from the President of the very large corporation congratulating me for 10 years. It's not a great job, but it gives me adequate income, I'm at the very top of the payscale for this position, and I now get 4 weeks of vacation a year plus 1 week of sick leave along with the great benefits.
  21. I just bought a Wii on Sunday at Toys 'R Us. My friend just picked one up Monday at GameStop. I've been trying to buy one since March. They've been scarce, but it sounds like Nintendo is finally starting to meet demand. Just keep calling around to stores until you find one. Also, GameStop.com has bundles of the Wii, classic controller, Wii points, and two games available at anytime. If you wanted those items, you can order the package there. But the packages don't save you any money. Inside tip: deliveries are made during the week. Stores like Best Buy, Toys 'R Us, etc don't make them available until the next Sunday morning. So if you call them on a Friday or Saturday they can tell you how many are going to be sold. GameStop stores sell them as they come in, so you'd just have to keep checking back every couple of days or so to see what they have in stock.
  22. pitchleague, the standings haven't been updated because i have been too busy with work and what not, and they take the longest to make. i'll try to get them done, but there are no guarantees.... sorry about that. I thought it was because we just didn't want to keep reminding ourselves of them.
  23. I remember reading a short story in high school English that had an ambiguous ending. A guy had to go through one of two doors. One had a lion and the other one had a woman to marry. He was put in this position because he loved the Princess and the King said because he wasn't noble he couldn't marry her. The Princess knew what was behind each door and told him to use the left door. And that was the end of the story. You didn't know whether he picked the door the Princess wanted or which result the Princess wanted. It was good for English class because we could spend a day debating what we thought the outcome was.
