  1. Wilson, Counsell, Hairston, McGehee, Kotsay were all there as well.
  2. I don't think Izturis smells 2B ever this year. That is Conrad's job.
  3. The way I've heard this draft described, outside of Davis, is that it's really, really deep, but very volatile. You could get a super star with the 3rd pick, or the 15th pick, but no one really knows.
  4. Just some quick math: 15% CS, in 31 GS last year, led to 18 SB, 3 CS. If we make him league average, 30% CS, that means he would've given up 15 SB and 6CS. So, that means, 1 stolen base every 10 games he starts. Again, not that big of a deal for a backup catcher who understands the staff and can hit. It isn't a big deal because teams don't steal bases much anymore. NL averaged 105 SB's per team, and that was skewed big time by San Diego who had 37 more steals than any other team.
  5. I don't understand how he's gotten this "He's a liability defensively" monicker. He's not great defensively, but he's not horrible either and he sure can rake (especially for a backup catcher). Have you forgotten what a great defensive catcher looks like at the plate? It looks like the 54 PA's and .369 OPS that Wil Nieves gave the Brewers last season.
  6. I have not seen these cans. I want some now.
  7. Jackson had at least 2 of the top 15 guys in the NBA on his team for each of his 11 titles. For 9 of those titles, he had 2 of the top 5 or 6. He gets credit for managing talent and ego's but Pop doesn't? Pop loses credit for having Duncan but Jackson doesn't for having Jordan, Pippen, Kobe and Shaq -- not to mention Pau Gasol in his latest two titles. I guess I don't understand the stance.
  8. I'm not so sure Conrad makes it (actually I hope that is the case). RRR mentioned that Aoki is so good against LHP that he could actually be their "RH" bat off the bench so to speak. Plus, they seem to be taking a long look at Ishikawa, which I like. This would mean Izturis gets all the ABs backing up 2B and 3B. That would just be a horrible idea.
  9. Hart played in a Minor league game today. It's highly probable he will be ready for opening day.
  10. 27 year olds with 161 career HR's don't hit 600 more HR's in their career. If he plays until he's 45, he'd have to average over 33 HR's a year for the next 18 seasons to get there. Even if he hit 60 both of the next two seasons, he'd still be 480 HR's short.... which means 30 a year until he's 45. Anyway, back on topic, I think Pujols has a good shot at it, the question will be, what medical advances will allow him to keep playing at a high level into his early 40's? Blood Spinning? Stem Cells?
  11. He had nothing to do with building that team, and everything to do with completely dismantling it and leaving as a pile of smoldering ash when he left. Oh, and, 2.5 games back with 17 to play. Not looking good. Ellis looks absolutely horrible as well.
  12. Lucroy never got to catch Wolf in ST before this season. I can see why Wolf wouldn't want him learning his habits and rhythms on the fly during the regular season.
  13. Houseboat. Lake Powell. http://www.travelvista.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Lake-Powell-1.jpg Best. Vacation. Ever. This also ties in with the Utah suggestion.
  14. I think a lot of people are forgetting, that had he followed a normal progression he probably should've been a mid season call up last year, that he made the jump straight from AA to the majors two years ago, when Zaun went down and I really think this will be a bit of a breakout year for him.
  15. I'll assume you saw something like this....

  17. Starting pitching, sure, but otherwise they weren't. They still had 2 starting pitchers go on the DL last year. I mean, heck, they started off the season with 5 guys on the DL, and that doesn't include Saito who went on the DL after 2 games. Things were so bad in the bullpen in June, Daniel Ray Herrera became a viable option. Edit: They were pretty much middle of the pack by games missed on the DL
  18. Hooray, another day with the one guy who should never play anywhere but CF playing somewhere other than CF. Go Crew. Hopefully this can get my mind away from that Badgers loss last night.
  19. It was actually a great play by Taylor. He drew the double team out, 5+ feet from the 3 point line and dished it to Wilson. If Wilson does what he's supposed to -- dribble towards the rim, or pass the ball to anyone but JT or anything but what he actually did, he either gets fouled, gets a dunk or Gasser gets a wide open jumper to win the game. Instead, he gave it right back to the guy getting double teamed, 8 feet from the 3-point line.
  20. Well, if he gets on in the 8 spot, he won't be stealing with the pitcher up. He'll either be bunted over, or staying put to keep the pitcher from leading off.

  22. But, the Brewers lost Prince! THEY LOST PRINCE! They LOST PRINCE! DUH! Sorry. That is the national media's take on everything. The Reds scare me more than the Cardinals. If their rotation stays moderately healthy, they have an amazing shot at the division.
  23. The Bucks fortune against the heat is as much tied to the schedule as it is to how they played. Each time they played, it was the Heat's 3rd game in 4 days. That won't be happening in the playoffs.
  24. They still happen, yes, but most PC's are now set to simply reboot instead of halting on the blue screen. If you hit the start button, then in the search, put eventvwr it will bring up event viewer. Then you'll have the different types of errors (Critical, Error, Warning, Information...) The BSD errors should be under "Critical". Hope this helps!
  25. Joakim Soria is probably going to have TJ surgery. Out for the season. A blow to the Royals, for sure. Alcides for K-Rod?
