  1. Rengifo still has no HRs this year. I supported this signing in the offseason as I thought he could at least give them a little pop. He is really non-playable right now. If he is not going to hit against RH, then he should definitely not hit against LHs (372 OPS this year). I'll take bunty against LHs for now.
  2. The title of this article made me groan but the content made me smile. Great job Spencer!. Cam is just another late round jewel the Brewers have found. I'm excited to see what he can do in AAA and maybe he has a shot at post season in Milwaukee.
  3. Interesting that Diego Frontado has not been listed yet. Is he injured?
  4. The 40 man is currently at 39, so room for both Lara and Jett. Note that Badoo and Zastrynski will need a 40 man spot as they are on 60 right now. But they can make room (Rengifo, Perkins).
  5. I cannot fathom the balls on Arnold that said No, previous year's all star William Contreras and Joel Payamps is not enough for Estuary Ruiz, you need to sweeten the deal and add in Justin Yeager.
  6. The Contreras trade has to be the best, but that one might be 2nd.
  7. I really like our rotation... Only thing we need is to upgrade SS and 3B. If only we had top 100 prospects doing well the last month in AAA that could be called up to fill that gap.
  8. And it was a high fastball. Is that his first hit this year of one of those?

  10. His offensive outburst yesterday accounted for nearly 1/4 of his slug on the year (5 of 21 TB).
  11. I cannot even imagine what the trade value would be for Harrison right now. A 24 year lefty with 4 more years of control after this year. 3 top 100 prospects? I'd expect a much better return than Peralta
  12. After the trade last year, I never would have thought I'd say I would miss Lockridge I was wrong. He's no superstar, but a good role player and a guy I would not mind playing everyday in short stretches. Too bad he's on the older side, so this is probably his peak year.
  13. I don't have any problem with this statement. It can be argued of course, but Miz is definitely one of the most talented pitchers the Brewers have ever had. I'm reluctant for the Brewers to lock up Miz long term just because he is such a risky gamble with inevitable injury risk, but he has Cy young level talent. If there was a young pitcher you would want to sign long term, it would be that kind of talent.
  14. Lara is a LH and they really needed an RH OF to hit vs lefties. So I get not calling him up. But I would have chose Jett. He's hit lefties well this year and has heated up in the past week. Jett could still use more time in AAA but Perkins has little value right now.
  15. Jesus turns 19 today! Hard to believe how well he has produced in AA at 18 so far this year. Have to think he is on the Chourio path and will get promoted to AAA mid year with the shot of being on the opening day roster next year.
  16. I was preaching small sample alert with Luis Lara early on but I feel he has surpassed that threshold now. 139PA of 970 OPS and 158 wRC+. His BB% and K% are both 12.9% and even his BABIP has dropped from well over .400 to a sustainable .358. His defense is exceptional. Are there any more red flags that this isnt real? Doubtful he can keep up this kind of power in the majors but it gives me hope he could be a 10-15 HR guy at his peak, which is way more than I expected. I dont really see a spot for him right now, but with Mitchell coming back to earth, it might not be long before he forces a decision to call him up. Have to think we would see him by June at this rate.
  17. I like Black, but cant complain about Sanchez against the lefty. Those are pretty good odds
  18. Yes he motioned to the dugout, but looks like a cramp on his foot. So hopefully nothing serious. Tough to leave a no hitter for that, but need to be safe
  19. I guess 19 Starting pitchers is the right number to start the season. Good grief.
  20. Sure, when Yelly gets back we can reconsider, but he's smoking hot right now. Why would he be hitting behind Rengifo at this point. Not that lineup position matters that much, but I'd like to see him get more PA.
  21. Pratt now has a 96 wrc+. If he continues this trajectory, he may be only a few weeks away. Rengifo/Ortiz are doing nothing to block him right now. Cool to see Wikens heat up as well. 3b/ss is ripe for the taking if these guys get hot. I'd take Leonard right now over Rengifo.
  22. Agreed. Have to believe he stays and Jones and Perkins go down when Vaughn and Chourio are ready. We will still have plenty of OFs with that group.
