  1. I took Kinsler at 17th in one league and I remember someone telling me it was too early to take him. It is a long season though and Tex could become a monster and Kinsler get injured. No regrets until the season end.
  2. BA says some really crazy stuff sometimes. He is probably the only person in the US who is wondering if Manny Parra is going to pitch a no-hitter after recording 6 outs and giving up a hit. EDIT: I think it's all part of BAs plan to jinx every game no matter the circumstance.
  3. I just voted for Milledge, but it's probably only a matter of time before MLB catches on to this and takes his name off the electronic ballots.
  4. Try hanging up 3-4 fly strips. Keep all windows and doors shut whenever possible. The problem will go away in a few weeks max. Because it only started 4 days ago it's probably a single colony, in which case isolation will kill them off because they won't breed with their direct relatives. If however, there is a place for them to sneak into your house that you don't know about the problem could get out of hand.
  5. Can someone provide me a link to comprehensive pick off data? What I'm specifically curious about is balls thrown by a pitcher to a base with a runner and how often that results in an error, SB, CS, etc.
  6. Someone e-mailed or called in to the booth claiming to be a high school friend of Kent Summerfeld and knowing his high school nickname. Bob asked Kent if this was true and Kent acknowledged it. Corey and Bob spent the rest of the game teasing Kent about it. I had a friend in high school who we called "Bones" too. He also went by "Skin" and "Skinny". I can relate.
  7. The bacterial mist from a toilet flush has been shown to stay in the air for at least two hours after each flush.
  8. Hart's ability to take walks is by far my favorite improvement in the Brewers lineup this year. I hope he can keep it up. EDIT: Weeks is doing well in his own right.
  9. My girlfriend cooked me a delicious pasta dish, but it turns out she actually ordered it from Pizza Hut.
  10. I can't remember the last time I've seen the Brewers swing and miss at so many pitches right down the middle. Max Scherzer is looking really good.
  11. Bill (clap clap clap clap clap) Hall (clap clap clap clap)
  12. A nice surprise from Julio with two pop outs and a check swing K.
  13. Well at least they made Maholm throw some extra pitches.
  14. I hope whoever won the Doorman's seat for today's game posts some of the many pictures he seems to be taking.
  15. What was Bill Hall doing there? He must not have seen the ball at all. He was leaning over the railling on a foul pop-up and the ball lands behind him? That could have been a big out.
  16. Me neither, or the audio feed. I get all set up to watch the game and then I can't.
  17. I thought I read that he came into spring training with 15 extra pounds and a poor attitude. If that's the case it doesn't suprise me that he is not performing like last year. Jerry Manual is threatening to send Perez to the bullpen or AAA (which he would have to sign off on) if he don't start pitching well. It sounds more like an empty threat to me. Perez has been a decent pitcher in the past and is making too much money (I know, I know) to send down to AAA for any period of time unless something is severly wrong with his mechanics. Plus he has a start coming up against the Phillies who he had a good outing against earlier in the year. He's still young and I think he can pull it together.
  18. If anyone is curious to BAs motives, he answers the question in his blog here. I'm just think he hates the Brewers http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  19. Hawk Harrelson of the White Sox didn't mention anything until the last out during a similar situation with Mark Buehrle. It can be done.
  20. I can't watch the hometown feed of this game on MLB.TV right now just because I can't stand how BA handles certain situations.
  21. I know this is going to sound crazy, but put money on the Marlins to win it all in '97.
  22. I agree that Hall is the right choice if Counsell is injured and limping. This I was unaware of, but I don't agree that Hall has been "nothing short of spectacular this season". I haven't watched all of the games, but I can recall a play against the Reds with Parra on the mound that Hall botched and a ground ball in the SF series hit by Rowand that bounced off of Hall's glove and went under the tarp for a double and now this lazy toss to second base. Even if you set those three plays aside, I'm not ready to call Hall a better 3B than Counsell, based on my own eyes or fielding % or UZR. If Counsell was limping, I'm not sure I would call Macha smart for substituting Hall in his place. I think we can agree even Yost would have made that move.
  23. Why was Hall brought in as a double switch? Can't we leave Counsell in with a 3 run lead in the bottom of the ninth? I feel like Counsell would have been a little quicker in that potential DP opportunity.
