    Chourio’s bat has been relatively quiet the past few weeks but he did pick up a hit and his 80th RBI of the season. Just one homerun shy of 20 on the year.

    The Angels couldn’t have botched the trade deadline anymore than they did. What a disaster of a franchise.

    Just take one of these next two and you’re up 5 games with 29 to go and feeling pretty comfortable.

    Robert Gasser is going to retire a Nashville Sound at this rate.

    Black certainly makes sense. He can platoon with Monasterio at 3B and serve as a pinch runner late in games. I just get the feeling they’ll want to go with a more veteran guy like Miller or Winker.

    Obviously I’d love to sweep or win 2 but even if the Cubs take 2, they’d only gain 1 game. So just don’t get swept. This series makes me nervous. We’re playing really well right now but so are the Cubs and that crowd is going to be amped up knowing the Cubs have some ground to make up on the Brewers.

    Yeah next time someone complains about the Brewers lack of spending, all you’ll have to do is look back at the 2023 Padres and Mets.

    He also has 13 walks to just 9 strikeouts so he’s clearly not overmatched. Just needs to start collecting hits which appears to be coming.

    Who do you WANT to see and who do you THINK we'll see? Black and Gasser would be cool but I think we'll see something like Owen Miller and Lauer. I think it will be a pitcher and an infielder.

    Doesn’t sound too promising for an Ashby return this year. I’d bring up Gasser.

    Yeah he reminds me of Frelick. Just has a knack for getting on base.

    I believe just about every team is in contention for a playoff spot with the exception of Wisconsin maybe?

    Chourio’s opposite field homerun was measured at 417 feet, btw. Not easy to do.

    It has to be Chourio’s age and his age alone that is still keeping him in AA at this point. To be honest, I was surprised he didn’t get promoted to Nashville around the same time Black was promoted. I wonder if they are content leaving him in Biloxi to finish out the season. Maybe he plays that final week in AAA after Biloxi’s season ends.

    The Padres are 6 games under .500 but carry a plus-62 run differential. I’m guessing they’ve had a few really big blowout wins and a bunch of 1 and 2 run losses. Such a strange team.

    A ton of offense from Nashville tonight but Tyler Black is 0-3 and continues to struggle a bit. Still getting his walks and not striking out much but I’m impatiently waiting for him to start hitting like he was in Biloxi.

    Was thinking we’d see Misiorowski tonight but Carlos Rodriguez is listed as the scheduled starter, which isn’t a bad thing at all.

    Any chance a guy like Yophery Rodriguez finishes out his season in Carolina? Or is that more likely to happen with the ACL guys like Pratt, Bitonti, etc?
