  1. Sounds like big power with solid contact rate and average to above average defense in the outfield. Will be interesting to see what kind of money it will take to get him.
  2. Imagine being a Reds fan. Yikes.
  3. Doing just 50 games seems a little silly to me but what do I know. Maybe it’s just time for both parties to move on. I like Levering though so that’s good at least.
  4. Yeah extra money to throw at Kris Bryant.
  5. Just a hunch but I think we’ll move on from Escobar and either go with Urias at 3B or somebody else.
  6. This shouldn’t be a surprise, good or bad. This is what the Brewers do. Find guys with good stuff but not so great results and put them in the pitching lab for some time and see if they can be fixed.
  7. Makes sense on paper since the Brewers are likely to lose Garcia. Castellanos could DH too assuming the NL gets the DH next year. We’ll have to find a way to shed some payroll for this to work though. I would personally love to see Castellanos in a Brewers uniform.
  8. Wiemer is quickly becoming my most untouchable prospect. We really have some exciting outfielders in the system.
  9. Would love this. Sign Castellanos and trade for another impact bat and call it an offseason.
  10. I guess I don’t understand how trading Mitchell and Small is a one year go for it type scenario if you’re trading for guys with years of control like Reynolds. Plus, you’ve got Wiemer who is just a tick behind Mitchell and Frelick who looked promising in his brief debut. I can agree trading Small is a gamble since the pitching is currently thin in the system. You can always replenish the system through trades and good drafting so I would hope that if Stearns has the opportunity to trade for an elite hitter and it takes trading Mitchell/Small, that he would pull the trigger.
  11. Now it’s on Stearns to get a bat or two whether it’s through free agency or trades.
  12. I think a package centered around these two guys can get us a big time bat like Reynolds or Ramirez. I’d be comfortable trading these two because you’ve got depth at both positions and if you trade for Reynolds or another OF with years of control, then that player is essentially replacing Mitchell. I really hope Stearns explores trading some of our upper tier prospects for a big time bat this offseason. Not saying empty the farm, but trade from a position or positions of depth.
  13. I was hoping we’d trade for Austin Riley the past couple of offseasons but I guess I can see why Atlanta would want to hold onto him!
  14. Really good point Eye Black. Maybe something like Urias, Houser/Lauer, and one high end prospect? All major league ready and have already had success in the major leagues.
  15. Trade some top prospects for a huge bat like Jose Ramirez and then trade Hader to replenish some of those traded prospects. I could get on board with that strategy. Although if you trade for somebody like Ramirez, then you are really going for it and could obviously use the best reliever in the game.
  16. Holy smokes! That would be one hell of a haul for the Pirates.
  17. That seems pretty reasonable and I do that trade in a heartbeat if I’m the Brewers. Trade for Ramirez and sign a guy like Castellanos and suddenly your offense is no longer mediocre.
  18. Go Red Sox I guess? Not a fan of any of the remaining teams. I hate the Red Sox right now the least.
  19. Yeah it’s obviously not his fault the offense stunk but at this point it’s time to move on and get a new voice in here. Who the heck knows if it helps but you might as well try something different.
  20. Not sure how he could pull it off due to finances, but would love to see Stearns go out and sign a big bat (Bryant) and trade for another to play 1B and 3B. That would be my ideal offseason. Or maybe Stearns can revisit the Reynolds trade with Pittsburgh and bring back Tellez to play 1B and sign a big bat to play 3B. Just something to shake up the offense a bit.
  21. Well maybe this will be the offseason Stearns finally learns how to build an offense to go with his stellar pitching staff. I can’t take another year of mediocre offense. I don’t know even know where to begin with Yelich.
  22. The offense was always going to be the reason for a quick playoff exit. The pitching is of course holding up their end.
  23. Man that White Sox lineup is absolutely stacked with young, elite talent. A Brewers/White Sox World Series would be fascinating with our starting pitching against their offense.
  24. Brewers offense hasn’t been the same since the Indians series.
