  1. have a bunch of quarters on hand, and when you're ready to leave, ask your server for an alternate exit out of the building.
  2. they could also add a guy just by purchasing or acquiring his contract via a trade. the roster is currently at 39.
  3. lake michigan is much farther away.
  4. i went to the exhibition game on 2 april. i've been living in minneapolis for ten years, and two years in st. paul prior to that, so i've suffered through many indoor games. the most marked improvement is the widened concourses. i move pretty quickly through crowds (which forces others to yield to me) and i could do so quite easily at target field. second most marked improvement is the handling of loading people on to the light rail platform when the game ends. extremely efficient and organized. it probably helps that there's only one platform (for trains headed east). biggest thing i wasn't prepared for: the glare of the sun reflecting off the shiny buildings. biggest thing target wasn't prepared for: not having their logo prominently displayed on the backside of target center. if you think it's ugly from first avenue and block e, try looking at its rear end. i'm confident target will be negotiating with hennepin county to get some branding on the backside of target center.
  5. steve sparks . . . confirmed here (along with some other great memories) http://www.cbc.ca/sports/...0/baseball_injuries.html
  6. when's jeff suppan pillow night at miller park? all fans 18 and over get a pillow and are allowed on to the field prior to the game for five minutes to take swings at jeff suppan. name the brewer that injured himself trying to demonstrate how to rip a phone directory in two.
  7. did anyone else lose wtmj feed from gameday audio before the second run scored?
  8. Is this sarcasm?invader3k . . . cracked bat collector made that response a year ago today.
  9. how would our lives be different if the pilots had gone somewhere else? happy birthday, brewers!

  13. the hurricane cleared waivers and was outrighted to the minor leagues by texas. too bad . . . it appeared that he had a shot to break camp after texas claimed him.

  15. bones / sammy / the low-carb burger man (aka kent sommerfeld) just commented on corey hart's fumbling with his eyewear while playing defense on the mlb.com webcast.
  16. what the heck is the "great tasting chicken" being touted on the commercial between innings? sounds like they're singing, "wayne's world". "now that's great tasting chicken" . . . does me no good when i can't even interpret what the heck they're singing.
  17. a year or two ago, tom admitted that blog posts were not reviewed by his editor and tried to use that as an excuse for a remedial spelling error i pointed out to him.
  18. so i've been hearing that hart's been trying different vision correction options and isn't comfortable with them. the few games i've seen online, it doesn't appear that he's trying anything (at least at the plate) and the announcers keep saying he hasn't found something he's comfortable with. isn't spring training the time to play two to three consecutive games with one vision correction option and see if there's an adjustment? has he been patient with his options? when does the trying stop and the doing start?
  19. with the time off, big pappi (that's what i call him) can spend some quality time with his kids.
  20. i bought six tickets for friday's game this morning online.
  21. if i recall correctly, iribarren has never been outrighted to the minor leagues, so assuming no other team claims him, is he not required to accept the assignment to the minor leagues? had he been outrighted once before, would he not have the right to elect free agency?
  22. wear brewers stuff. nats fans can't afford to be tough on visitors. their team is horrible. if you take the metro to the ballpark, make sure you have enough value stored on your card for the return trip before heading in to the stadium. it's a pain to try to add value to your card before going down to the platform. they may still be running a promotion where if you park at rfk, you can get a free shuttle to the ballpark and back. just watch out for low bridges. prepare to be underwhelmed with their stadium.
