  1. i don't call it the miller park, so please don't call it the mall of america.
  2. it means he wasn't signed to a major league contract yet he's discussed in the major league forum. i thought russell branyan was the only exception to that rule.
  3. i highly recommend that minneapolis visitors walk north from the dome towards the river and towards the big, blocky blue building. (for your reference, kirby puckett plaza is on the west side of the dome.) big blue is the guthrie theater. walk inside, and go up the escalators. continue walking forward once off the escalators. trust me. and since you'll be over there, check out mill city museum to the west and the stone arch bridge that spans across the river.
  4. walk west five blocks from the hotel towards nicollet mall. up (to the right) and down (to the left) nicollet mall are lots of good eateries. i like: the newsroom, mccormick & schmick's, the local, brit's pub and m&s grill. continue north up nicollet mall (the street numbers will get smaller) and you can board lrt for 50 cents heading east to the dome. you can easily walk back to your hotel from the dome. just head west a few blocks to 5th avenue and head south. two more blocks west of nicollet mall is hennepin avenue. more eateries abound, and if you head north on hennepin, you can board lrt there as well. still 50 cents to the dome. and to correct a previous poster, they are known as jucy lucy's . . . no "i" in the first word. do not, i repeat, do not take a bite right away. you will burn off half your face.
  5. since when is tony graffanino equal to russell branyan on brewerfan.net?
  6. i'm confirmed for friday with at least 2 friends and for saturday with my girlfriend.
  7. i'll hop on light rail and go to at least one.
  8. which segment are you being critical of? as far as i see it, the blog and the mailbag are entirely different entities. your subject line suggests you're not happy with his blog posts. i'll say this . . . anthony does a better job of adding tags to blog posts than tom does.

  12. the streak ends at 6 and 11 overall. i seem to recall that 2007's streak was in the double-digits. can anyone verify?
  13. if the increased police presence cuts down on public urination through increased citations, i'm all for them out there checking for tickets.
  14. a couple doubles yesterday puts 2008's streak at 6 and the overall streak at 11.
  15. i seem to recall the brewers opening the 2007 season with a pretty lengthy doubles streak. does anyone remember how many consecutive games they got two-baggers in? and did it start with opening day? counting today, the brewers have doubled at least once in every game played, so the current streak is at 5. it's at 10 if you go back to 26 september 2007.
  16. hmmmm . . . opening day. mark attanasio and his father are there . . . pick the italian.
  17. i was extremely ticked when the mark chmura sexual assault story broke years ago on opening day.
  18. the brewers should erect a statue of ulice payne, jr. outside miller park and call it a statue of limitations. anyone ever seen the gaffe on the statue of babe ruth outside oriole park at camden yards? that one can't be fixed as easily.
  19. are you wanting him to draw inspiration from hannibal lecter?
  20. richie gardner makes it 39. while i hope it takes multiple pitching injuries to force us to bring up chris narveson, it's nice to know a roster spot is open for him if the need arises. (note i didn't suggest that it would take the collapse of a young pitcher to force us to bring up narveson.) same could be said for abraham nunez if craig counsell or another infielder were to go down with a short term injury.
  21. i really like that the creator never referred to them as "legos". he respected the brand by referring to them as "lego materials" or "lego bricks".
  22. kid 'n play. what an egotist.
  23. assuming the situation is runner(s) in scoring position and two outs, corey hart . . . because you can't steal first base, and you can't teach speed. his speed puts pressure on the defenders to throw him out. and according to last year's 60-yard dash, he's the fastest on the team (although we may have to give newcomer jason kendall the benefit of the doubt). i was at a game won in the 9th because greg brock (greg brock!) beat out a throw to first to make it a game-winning fielder's choice instead of an inning-ending double play.
