  1. at 5:10, FYI. I think he has a valid point about why would Miz want to sign now if he wins ROTY and gets a year of service time?
  2. When I saw another article about this at first I was sympathetic since it just cited the stats for Suarez and Sanchez. Which on its face, is a totally legitimate argument. However I read over note above about them not even being realistic candidates, which makes the outrage ridiculous.
  3. 5 games, 1.500 OPS, 10 RBI, It's working out alright.
  4. I fear further attempts to clarify will be as fruitless, but you're really missing the point. 1. You are on very flimsy ground attempting to make a point using a 3 game sample. I didn't say you picked his worst three games, I said the entire sample size was 3 games. Whether they are playoff games or not is statistically meaningless. Imagine you said "In April 14-16 2024 Joey couldn't even get a hit!" That's the same thing. 2. Maybe it wasn't intentional, but I can't imagine how you don't see that saying "in his whole life" is juuust a little misleading when what you really mean is "in 3 games thjs one year." That's different than 15 games across 4 years or whatever. If you present an argument that way, and then someone actually digs in to look at what you are saying by that statement, it's going to immediately discredit what you say.
  5. You... don't use it. Or at least you be honest in your language. Saying "he's never gotten a playoff hit in his whole life!!" is dramatically different than "in the 3 playoff games he didn't get a hit. You could take ANY player in the world and find 3 games in a row that they've gone hitless. It's an intellectually dishonest way to make a point.
  6. Your first statement is undoubtedly true, but if Collins is for real or Garrett Mitchell somehow plays more games (work with me here) or someone else comes on the scene, I think Yelich is very likely to be mostly DHing.
  7. I agree. Some are convinced he's due for regression, but I think that's just waiting for a moment that's never going to come. We've seen him do it to us for years, now we get to be on the other side, and I'd rather stick with him than give a spot to Cortes for some reason. If Gasser comes back and looks good I'm not sure what we're going to do with all the young pitching next year, so I don't know whether we have a spot for Quintana or not, but I doubt Arnold's racing to get rid of him at the deadline. He's exactly the unflappable veteran arm that can come in and shut down an opponent in the playoffs (we should remember from last year!).
  8. Thankfully he was able to straighten himself out once he got out of the organization...
  9. This would be amazing only in that it would completely shut down anyone who criticizes Mark for not shelling out cash to get better. But if they had any doubt that Bregman would opt out at the end of the year there's no way they'd do this.
  10. Royals sign Kuechel. I guess he's still playing?
  11. Alright, this is set up perfectly for one of the first 3 to get on, then Vaughn PH for Bauers and walks it off.
  12. I doubt it. Murphy was especially blunt in his comments, and acknowledged that he had been doing better, but when he says "the manager's pissed" I think it's reasonable to take him at his word.
  13. Miz and Quintana are pretty much exact opposites as pitchers, but same equally impressive result.
